Chapter 143 Pre wedding prank
Chapter 143 Pre wedding prank
Dandelion.
Suddenly, a sound cut through the tension.
It was Lilian's high pitched, infectious snort of laughter.
No. Hold on a little, I wanted to scream at her, she was about to blow our cover.
Then she completely burst into laughter, unable to hold mine in any longer, I joined in the infectious laughter.
Alex and Xavier froze, their hands still locked on each other's shirts. They turned slowly to look at the "victim" and the "aggressor."
Lilian and I were doubled over, clinging to each other for support, laughing so hard we were gasping for air.
"Pay up, Lily," I wheezed, wiping a tear from my eye. "I told you they’d literally kill each other."
Lilian shook her head still laughing. She reached up and pulled off her pearl earrings, and dropped them into my hand. "Damn it. I am so disappointed. I really thought they had more self-control. Now I’ve lost my limited edition pearls."
Alex and Xavier stood in the center if everyone's attention, their hands still gripping each other’s clothes, looking like two statues of complete confusion.
As if he finally realized what was going on, Alex slowly released Xavier’s shirt, his face turning a deep, embarrassed shade of red.
"I--" Alex started, clearing his throat and adjusting his jacket, trying to recover his dignity. "That was.... that was not funny."
"Dandy," Lilian said in a high pitched, baby voiced pout, ignoring the men, "You’ll have to get me something even better than those earrings, you will won't you?"
Nicholas shook his head in astonishment as he looked at the two of us. "Oh my god. They are going to be the end of us. I genuinely forgot for a second that one of you is an award winning actress and the other one is just naturally dramatic. How could I fall for it along with these two idiots? You guys are too blinded by love you've become stupid."
Alex looked at me, his mouth twitching as he struggled to maintain his stern expression.
"Wow, just wow, I can't believe they planned a pre wedding prank." Tristan said with a grin.
Finally, he let out a short, frustrated huff of air and wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me into his side.
"You both are dangerous together," he whispered, still in awe. "You know we would have ended each other over that."
"Well....you both should have known that already," Lilian said and laughed, leaning into Xavier, who was currently busy smoothing out his shirt and looking like he wanted to jump into the nearest swimming pool.
I leaned back into Alex, feeling the warmth of his body and the ridiculous prank we had just pulled this afternoon.
Both Lilian and I had been planning this for a while now. We were bored, and we felt like shaking the tree just to see what fell out even though it was a dangerous move.
I had assumed it wouldn't have escalated like that since they were best friends, but....turns out their love or should I say over protectiveness for us was greater.
"Gosh I need a drink. A very strong one. And I’m staying as far away from both of you as possible." Nicholas said, and went off to the wine cellar close by.
...........,..................
Finally it was the wedding day, our Second wedding.....well if you include our first court marriage I guess it would count as Three. We should be given an award of the couple with the most wedding.
The Graham Estate gardens was once again decorated beautifully for the wedding, although everything was made to be very simple yet elegant, perfectly fit for our anniversary slash wedding redo.
We had only invited a small list of friends and loved ones, and they all sat in decorated white chairs, and a single camera crew stood at the back to livestream the moment for the public that had followed up on The Graham Family.
As the song began to play softly in the background, the crowd rose.
I appeared at the edge of the path, my arm linked with my dad, Maxwell.
It was a second chance he had worked months to earn, and as he walked me down the aisle, his hand trembled slightly, he probably still didn't believe I would let him walk me down the aisle, I remember how many times he had thanked me for the opportunity.
Alex stood at the altar, his posture was rigid until he saw me, the air seemed to leave his lungs.
His eyes glistened and brightened with emotions that made my heart skip.
Even though this wasn't our first time, everything still felt soo emotional.
When it was time to renew our vows, we stood before each other staring into each other's eyes with swelling emotions.
It was my turn to say my vows, I slowly reached out to him, I allowed my fingers brush the lapel of his jacket.
"We started this journey of love at Glass Lake, even though we didn't know if we were enemies or allies," I began. "We were bound by a contract, silenced by lies, and nearly destroyed by the ghosts of our pasts. But today, I vow to choose you not because I have to, but because I want to. I vow to trust you, even when the world feels dark, and to grow old with you in a home built on truth, not survival."
Alex took a shaky breath, his thumbs tracing the back of my hands. "I vow to spend the rest of my life loving you, and strengthening our trust for each other. I will be the man who protects your heart, not just your life. I will tell you the truth, even when it’s hard, and I will love you through every season, because you are the best thing that ever happened to the man I used to be."
Alex said his vows to me in the most loving way, and my heart couldn't help but flutter with warmth.
When we leaned in to kiss, it felt like we were the only ones exiting, like the world had suddenly gone quiet for that moment.
Then we slowly turned back to the crowd, as they all applauded.
Grandma Winifred sat in the front row, clutching Genora on her lap. Genora cooed at the sight of me and Alex, her tiny hands reaching out as if she understood the moment.
Then came the ring bearer.
This time we had decided to make it special.
Willow, trotted down the aisle with a custom leather pillow strapped to his neck. He had been trained for weeks to be the ring bearer.
But suddenly he stopped midway to the altar, he looked at the glittering rings hanging below his neck.
"Oh my-- what's he up to now." I wondered with worry.
Did he think the rings were, perhaps, edible.
Everyone in the crowd gasped as Willow suddenly started shaking his head vigorously, trying to remove the pillow to get to the gold rings.
"Willow, no!" Alex called out in frustration, after weeks of training Willow still couldn't control his urge.
But before Willow could succeed in his attempt, Genora, who had been wriggling in Grandma Winifred’s lap, suddenly pushed herself toward the aisle carpet.
Grandma Winifred laughed and let her crawl.
I stared at her wondering what she was up to.
Genora crawled towards Willow with surprising speed, her tiny hands smacking the ground as she reached the wolf.
Willow stopped immediately, turning his head to lick the baby’s hand. She giggled and grabbed the two shiny rings from the dislodged pillow with her tiny, strong grip.
"Oh! Would you look at that," Grandma Winifred shouted, her voice bright with pride.
She walked towards them and carried Genora to the altar, and Genora triumphantly held out the rings for us giggling in the process.
I felt my heart swell with pride.
Alex gently took the gold bands from our daughter's tiny fist.
The crowd erupted into a standing ovation that lasted nearly a full minute.
Willow could have swallowed our wedding bands, but my genius baby saved our wedding.
Willow seemed to sense the sudden change in mood, he tucked his tail and ran away, looking mortified.
By the end of the wedding, the video of "Baby Genora Graham Saves the Wedding from her pet Wolf" was already trending on all social media.
It was the most adorable thing on the Internet.
