Chapter 22
After the maids left, Ava had nothing else to do. But then a thought came to her head. So she took her phone and searched for Trent’s number. Then she clicked on the number and stared at it for the longest time.
She knew she should delete his number immediately without hesitating. But she couldn’t help but hesitate to block his number. After all, he had been the guy she loved the most for 3 years.
Ava felt herself get more reluctant to block his number. She was even beginning to reconsider him but seems like her head is not in unison with her heart this time.
The image of yesterday flashed before her eyes as she remembered his words clearly. “I’m sorry Ava. The truth is I have never really loved you. The woman I love is carrying my child.” As she remembered his words, Ava felt her eyes start to get moist again.
“I can’t believe I'm reconsidering that bastard.” She thought bitterly. No longer having the will to continue thinking about Trent, she blocked his number and deleted his number on her phone.
“The past should always remain in the past. And I am going to get past this past.” she muttered. She felt her heart get heavy with burdens but she ignored it.
Ava began to think of how she’d start her life. She had been under her dad’s wings her whole life not willing to explore. And after he died suddenly, she had no idea what to do or where to start from.
She was caged literally all her life. And now, she felt she couldn't continue living that kind of life. She reminded herself she had been accomodated in someone else’s house. Nothing belongs to her.
And even what her dad left for her, her wicked stepmother already spent the money leaving her with nothing to fall back on.
But she determined in her heart she’s going to be successful. And be happy.

Almost outside of Y city, A Mercedes Maybach Exelero was packed outside a duplex glass house. The beach could be seen stretching towards the south. Giving the house a serene-like look.
From outside the house, the view was beautiful and peaceful but inside the house, the whole view could be described as splendid.
The landscape view from inside the house is just very nice. To even get a better view of everything, the best place is the rooftop. And that was where Luther was smoking his cigar.
Looking at the overview of the place from his rooftop, he specifically chose this place because of the view and how serene everything looked, hoping it will calm him anytime he needs to be away from the outside world.
But even today, his turbulent heart couldn’t be calmed even after staring at the sea for so long. Quitely, he dropped the cigar in his hand into an ashtray but didn’t leave the rooftop.
Today, he’s going to meet with his grandfather at the old manor alongside a lot of people he wasn’t interested in meeting. His phone beeped indicating a new message. So he checked and saw a new document recently sent by his P.A.
Before he could click the document, a call came in. “What is it?” He asked in a somewhat dull voice.
“Hello, i've just sent the documents you asked for. We finally found a list of people involved in a lot of illegal activities at King’s Entertainment.
“Very well.” He replied coolly. “I’ll have a look at it later,” he added. And like that he ended his brief call with his P.A.
Even though he just got the information he wanted he didn’t bother to check the document. Instead, his mind wandered back to the girl in his room.
Image of her curled up like a ball kept flashing in his head as cried herself to sleep. He couldn’t help thinking about her. He already knew everything he needed to know about her.
23, and graduated at the city university before her father’s death. And since then, she had been under the control of her step mother and then, she was used as a replacement for their debt.
He knows she’s not broken beyond repair and she’s so willful and strong headed. All these characters, she had displayed in his presence. She’s beautiful no doubt but he had seen far more beautiful women than herself.
He was sure the maids would look after her well on his behalf because he knew she wouldn’t leave his room. Not to even look around his home because she’s afraid of his sister even though she said nothing, somehow, he found himself knowing more about her than he should.
And when she told him she wasn’t interested in staying in his room anymore, he had no idea why he got more mad at her. Before now, he never allowed anyone into his room at all. But he didn’t even want her to leave.
Why is he still thinking about her? He thought warily. He couldn’t get himself to calm down around her since they met. And there’s something about her that kept drawing him to her.
He wondered what it was. “Ava.” He pronounced her name gently as he imagined her standing right in front of him. Doing what? He thought and when he couldn't find answers to his ridiculous imagination, he pushed his thoughts aside in irritation.
Right now, he needs to be at the party his grandfather hosted. He’s so sure he’s waiting for him. But where’s the fun when there’s little to no drama? When he obeys every command, there’s no fun in it.” He thought while chuckling lightly.
