Chapter 21

The last girl decided to finally join in the conversation. She did join in order to stop the conversation from extending any further.

“Now, we wouldn’t know Milady.” She replied gently. “But what i do know is we need to bath you now or we’d be punished for using up so much time.” She added.

Gently, they led her to the bathtub and was cared for. She was soon done with her bath. The witty maid began treating her long lush hair. “Your hair is so beautiful.” She complimented.

Ava blushed and was about to thank the maid when her stomach grumbled loudly. Covered in embarrassment, she dared not to look up. And the maid bursted out laughing. Quickly, the other two maids rushed to get her food .

After about an hour, she was done with self care and she gently sat down on the bed. She had been thinking of how she’d ask them about Luther since she hadn’t seen him since she woke up. But she was afraid she wouldn't get the answer she wanted.

When she couldn’t contain her curiosity, she finally asked them. “Do you guys have any idea where Luther is?”

The three maids looked at themselves before the witty girl decided to talk. “You have no idea?” She asked. “That?” Ava asked with a raised eyebrow. Is there something she should know? She thought.

The other maid tapped the witty maid slightly “She just got here. She wouldn’t know.” Then, the witty maid mouthed an ooh sound in realisation.

All the while, Ava watched their interaction. “Is there something special happening today?” She asked curiously.

So the second maid answered her. “Though, we are not in the position to tell you this but I guess you should know since you asked ma’am.”

Ava listened with rapt attention as the maid continued. “Grand Master Herald had invited the young master to his home. I heard a party is being hosted today at the old Manor.”

“Ohh.” She replied. “Yes milady.” The maid replied. “Which means, i’ll be all by myself today.” She said, sounding dejected.

Ava wished more than ever that she had something to do. Here in Lutuer’s house, she was afraid of leaving his room because she knew Luther’s sister wouldn’t want to see her.

The cheerful maid smiled at her. “Don’t worry. We’ve been instructed to keep your company.” She told her while smiling.

“You see,” she continued “Young master is very thoughtful of you. We’ve never seen him accommodate anyone before. But here he is treating you better.”

“Maybe you guys didn’t really get to know him well. I don't think he’s that bad a guy you guys think he is.” Ava replied, falling to get the hidden meaning behind the witty girl’s reply.

But the maids decided not to tell her more. “We’ll be back soon.” They said and were about to leave. But Ava stopped them.

“I didn’t get your names?” She asked them.

“You want to know our names?” They asked in surprise. The maids were truly surprised as no one had ever asked for their names. They don’t care to ask. All they have to do is get work done.

“Yes.” she replied with a smile. “Is it bad to want to know your names? She asked.

“No no no no.” They quickly said in unison. “Okay i’ll go first.” The witty maid announced.

“Valerie is my name.” She replied happily. “Valerie.” Ava pronounced her name softly. “Your name is really nice.” She said to Valerie. “Thank you.” Valerie smiled widely while her cheeks were tainted in a pink blush. At that moment, Ava thought she looked too adorable.

“Okay, it’s my turn.” The second maid said with a little smile dancing on her lips.

“Go on.” Ava urged with a smile of her own. “My name is Catrina. You can just call me Cathy.” She replied.

“Why do I feel like the name doesn’t suit you?” Ava said. When Cathy heard what she said, she was startled. “What do you m…

“I think gorgeous would suit you better.’ Ava said, smiling widely at Cathrina, making her blush deeply when she heard her compliment.

“I love your name also. You’re simply really beautiful Cathy.” Ava complimented. “Thank you.” Cathrina replied.

“What about you?” Ava asked the last maid whom she thought was the most reserved. “My name is Samatha.” She replied Ava softly.

“Wow you’ve all got beautiful names.” Ava said truly awed by their names. “It’s simply perfect for you.” She complimented Samatha and she smiled a little back at Ava.

“You know what?” She continued “I'll call you Val, Cathy and Sam. Do you like that?” She asked.

“Totally fine by me.” Valerie answered happily. “Me too.” “And me.” The other maids replied.

“So we’ll take our leave now and be back later.“ Sam informed Ava. “Alright Sam. Bye guys. See you soon.” She told them and they replied back, leaving the room.

Ava watched them till they left the room. “Seems like I've made new friends.” She said with a smile on her face.
