Chapter 80 Chapter 80

Chapter 80 Chapter 80
“Are you mad at me?” I asked Huz when we arrived at Marina Bay Sands. Ever since I answered his question, he hasn’t paid attention to me again. He only responded with a sigh earlier and then went silent, even though I was explaining myself to him.
LIKE NOW, he just passed by me and went to the dining area of the private suite we booked. Is he going to drink alcohol again?
But I was wrong when he grabbed my hand. What he took was actually a bottle of cold water, and he pressed it against my hand that had been burned earlier by coffee. He noticed it.
“Who did this? Your ex-boyfriend?” He pulled me toward the table.
“N-no… Huz, hear me out. I told you I didn’t mean to see him again. It was my mom. She invited me to dinner, and I was also surprised when Jett was there—”
“Can you not talk about his name? Fuck that Jett, whoever he is. I’ll definitely kill him.” His jaw clenched. I could only bite my lip while trying to suppress a smile because I was attracted to how serious he was. Why is he angry again?
“Huz, calm down… I already warned them. I really don’t want what happened to be repeated.”
“But based on what you told me, they are indeed manipulative. I doubt this won’t happen again. They seem unstoppable. Now I can clearly see why you were so desperate to look for a husband.”
“No?” I protested. “I’m not desperate to find a husband, okay?”
“Really?” he asked, unconvinced. His eyebrow raised at me again. “Then why did you grab my arm that day and ask me to marry you?”
“Well, I’m desperate to be married to you… that’s different,” I said sweetly, trying to ease his irritation.
And it seemed effective because he was left speechless, so I smiled. “Seriously, if it weren’t you, I wouldn’t marry anyone else.”
“Is that so?” he asked while his eyes narrowed, as if he were trying to stop himself from smiling. It looks like I’m fooling him—well, coaxing him.
“Yes, Huz. Also, that idea was recommended by the bartender.”
“Bartender?” His face darkened again. Damn it. Why does his mood switch so fast? He’s like a woman! Even worse than me!
“Chill… he’s gay, Huz. And if it weren’t for him and his alcohol, I wouldn’t have insisted on marrying you. I was probably really desperate that night to escape because I was already fed up with the manipulation of the people around me. The only downside is that even now that I’m married, they still won’t stop. My mother still wants me to make amends with my ex.”
I rolled my eyes. I really get irritated whenever I remember it.
“Then should we go back to Italy? Do you want to live there instead?” he suggested.
“You’re crazy! You have your life here, and I’m fine with my life as a volunteer doctor. It’s just really annoying when things like this happen.”
“Yeah, it sucks when I can’t even help you. If only killing weren’t a sin…”
My eyes widened, and I hit his chest. He just shook his head and clicked his tongue.
That cold compress should be pressed against his head instead, so his temper would cool down.
“You know what? It may sound weird, but I sincerely care for you, my wife. I actually wanted to ask how you got this burn on your hand. When did this happen?”
“Ahhh, that? Just earlier. I had a meeting with Dr. Apolinaris, and because of my stupidity, I dropped the hot coffee I was drinking,” I explained to him.
“Psh. What are you even thinking?”
I couldn’t answer that question anymore. I just watched as he gently blew on my skin where he had applied ointment after the cold compress.
“How can you be so gentle, like you really know what to do, when you haven’t experienced being in a relationship before?” He glanced at me, but I continued what I was saying. “You really know what to say. Sometimes, I don’t want to believe that you truly don’t believe in marriage, because every time I look into your eyes, it’s as if you really want to risk it all.”
He looked at me meaningfully. I didn’t expect what he said next.
“What if I do?”
“Huh?”
“What if I really want to risk it all, my wife?”
I couldn’t speak for several seconds. I could clearly hear my heart pounding because of what he said—especially since he was caressing my hand in such a tender way.
“W-what do you mean, H-Huz?”
He leaned his mouth close to my ear. “Do you really wanna know, hmm?”
I almost closed my eyes at the way he spoke. His voice was too low, as if he was implying something. Why did this man change again? Just earlier he was angry, and now he’s flirting! Is this guy crazy?!
