CHAPTER 30: MEETING 1
ALPHA ZAC'S POV
Brimstone connected with his Beta and demanded him to take care of the men following us while we continued driving as if nothing was going on at all. The drive took a while and within an hour of the men following us, they suddenly disappeared but I knew it was the work of Brimstone's beta so I just kept on smiling to myself.
"You are very happy. Do you think you're strong enough to meet Trent without making mistakes again? Remember how he left you after you professed your love to him 10 years ago?" Crimson asked me and my heart ached.
The thought of how he walked away from me that day still hurts like ever and I hated to be reminded of it but he was right. Trent walked away that day and ever since then, he never checked up on me or tried to meet up with me. It was like our friendship never existed in the first place and I blamed myself for being so forward back then even though I knew I had no choice.
I sucked in a deep breath and looked at the road, in a few more minutes, we would be in the meeting but for a reason which was very clear to me, I didn't want to go to the meeting anymore, I did not want to see Trent anymore... I wasn't ready to face him yet. All the excitement I felt earlier was watched away by my fear and I could only cower in the car while thinking hard about what I was supposed to do.
"You're scared now?" Brimstone asked me and I nodded my head. He wasn't the type of person I could hide my feelings from anyway. He could always read me like paper and that wasn't new to me. "I think I'm still not ready to meet him. After what he did to me 10 years ago, I thought I was alright and I could meet him again as if nothing had happened but now that we are almost there, it's hard and I don't know how to feel anymore." I complained and Brimstone sighed.
He glanced at me and sighed again "I know how you feel. I should have sorted it out for you back then but you told me not to interfere and that you got it under control and truthfully, you did well to let him go then..." He stopped and smiled softly "He is back now and he will surely be attracted to you even if it's just for friendship. I mean, Two of you have been friends for so many years and everyone knew back then that he couldn't do without you. I'm sure the past 10 years wouldn't have been easy for him and he would have missed your friendship a lot~" Brimstone explained and I nodded my head in agreement. Trent might not like me as a lover but he cherished our friendship very well and he loved to be around me so much that people would call him my handbag then but he never cared.
"I know, I understand what you are saying but the problem is my heart. I don't think I can ever see him as just a friend anymore. I can't talk to him like I always did back then because my feeling for him has been defined already." I complained and Brimstone nodded his head, assuring me that he wasn't done with his words yet and I breathed in relief.
Brimstone was my only hope for the moment and I wanted him to advise me accordingly. "You can't accept his friendship anymore so don't. If he comes back to you as a friend, talk to me as if he is no longer important in your life and see how he reacts to that. If he misses you and still wants you in his life, he will try to make things right and then, you can show him through your attitude that you still love him just like you did 10 years ago. This time, it's either he accepts your heart or leaves you forever. " Brimstone explained and my stomach churned.
The thought of losing Trent forever scared the life out of me but then, Brimstone was right. I couldn't keep on holding onto him forever and again, I was starting to get over him since I met Monica so maybe one day, I would meet someone who would make me forget about him completely and I would be able to live a life without him and not miss him. It was the best decision I could make at the moment and I was glad that Brimstone was still as cold as ever because that was the only way he could advise me that way without thinking about my feelings.
The drive to the meeting was quiet as I was trying to take Brimstone's idea to heart and before I knew it, We were already there. "Get down," Brimstone said and I nodded. He came out of the car first and I followed suit after which we both entered the house but that was after we both checked very well to see if any suspicious person was lurking around but there was none.
Entering the house, we walked straight to the room where the meeting would hold and in there, and there were already tens of Alphas waiting for us and they stood up immediately when they saw us. "Welcome, Lord Brimstone." They all greeted and bowed before bowing for me too and I bowed back. The seat for Brimstone was the biggest in the room and mine was just next to it so we both walked over to sit beside each other and the meeting commenced. Secretly, I searched around the room to see if Trent was around but he wasn't and I frowned ~ Brimstone looked at me and sighed, he seemed to have noticed what was going on too so he searched the room too and that was when the door opened and Trent walked in.
