Chapter 38: Backseat Driver

Harlow

The minute we hopped over the seat, our mouths began devouring one another. I let out a small gasp when he reached under my dress and ripped my panties off.

“Those were my good underwear!” I said.

“Not anymore.” He then took out a condom and ripped open the wrapper, but before he could put it on, I took it from him.

“Let me,” I said, pushing his back against the seat. I placed it over his tip and unrolled it all the way down. Afterward, I turned my back to him and lifted my skirt. “I want to watch the movie too,” I said coyly.

I then grabbed hold of the seat in front of me and pressed back onto him. The moment he was completely inside me, a loud moan escaped from my lips. I quickly covered my mouth, so I wouldn’t draw attention to us. Laughing, we both looked around to see if anyone heard, but no one had.

“You might want to turn that volume down,” he said as I rocked back and forth.

“You gonna make me?” I asked, clenching myself tighter around him. He felt so good.

“Maybe,” he replied.

He reached under my dress and began caressing my breasts, pinching slightly at my nipples. I winced in pleasure-pain and began grinding harder, causing a swell of adrenaline to rush through me that was hard to control.

Soon, my body began to convulse as an intense wave overtook me. Unable to hold out any longer, I grabbed onto Cyrus as euphoria jolted through me. Then, I finally slowed to a shaky stop.

“Is that all you’ve got?” I managed to ask.

He smiled. “Not even close.” My challenge had been accepted.

Cyrus

Not giving her any time to rest, I effortlessly lifted Harlow off of me and laid her down on the seat. Despite still reeling from her first peak, I immediately picked up where we left off. Driving into her hard and fast, I was careful not to let my wolf strength take over. I wasn’t able to keep the car from rocking, but at this point, I couldn’t care less.

I grabbed her legs and bent them over my shoulders, giving me a better angle to press deep into her. She let out an involuntary cry when I did, telling me I’d found the right spot.

Not letting up, I continued ravaging her, and soon she abandoned trying to suppress herself and began calling out for anyone to hear as her second climax took over. Tightening around my manhood, she unleashed an inner fury that I struggled to suppress.

As a rising heat burned within me, my eyes shifted into their wolf form and my claws began to grow. It took every ounce of willpower I had to not clamp my elongated canines down onto Harlow’s neck. How easy it would be to mark her...but I resisted that urge. I continued thrusting harder and more rapidly, but soon, I was unable to contain myself. My carnal instincts took hold, and I let out a half-wolf growl as I came. Harlow felt incredible.

Drenched in sweat, we took a moment to just hold one another. Cyrus’s wolf-like eyes and claws retreated.

“Well, so much for being discrete,” I panted, nodding towards the steamy car windows around us. Cyrus looked and began to laugh.

When we sat up, Cyrus cracked open a window to let in some air, which felt refreshing. He wrapped his arm around me as we leaned against the backseat. Neither of us minded each other’s wet clothes. Looking out the front windshield, I saw that the movie credits were flashing on the screen.

“Looks like we missed most of the movie,” I joked.

“Well, I guess we’ll have to come back again.”

“Are you sure we’ll make it to the end next time?”

“Probably not.” That made me giggle. By now, the headlights from other cars told us people were clearing out.

“Guess we should get going soon,” I said, my eyes getting drowsy.

“Nah, let’s stay here for a little while.”

“Okay,” I said, snuggling into his chest. My body moved with his breathing as his fingers gently grazed along my neck, making the hairs on my arm stand on end.

Just as I felt myself dozing off, the sound of an incoming text message jolted me awake.

I sighed in annoyance when I saw who it was from. Madoc.

It read, “Harlow. I need to see you. Something’s happened. It’s very important that you come to my office inmediatamente.”

“Great. Just what I need.” I sighed. Cyrus looked at me curiously. “It’s Madoc.”

“What does he want?” He scowled.

“I have no idea,” I said, showing him the screen, “but I’m sure his definition of ‘important’ is pretty different from ours.”

“Then tell him you’re busy.”

“This is Madoc we’re talking about. He’s not exactly a person we can say no to,” I said, crawling back over into the front seat. This time, I sat behind the wheel.

“I just don’t want you spending more time with him than you have to,” Cyrus said.

“Why? You don’t trust me?”

“I don’t trust him,” he said, crawling back over into the passenger seat. “The guy is literally a walking, talking corpse.”

“Well, I’ve had worse encounters with people who are alive,” I said as a joke, but he wasn’t amused.

“Did you not see what he did to Amos Jessup?” he asked, his tone darkening. “Without batting an eye, he made the guy blow his own brains out using mind control. The fact that you’re human means he can use that power on you too, and that terrifies me.”

“Well, if I weren’t human, there wouldn’t be that risk,” I said harsher than I intended. The mood in the car suddenly became very serious. Cyrus’s jaw clenched, but we were on the subject already, so I kept going. “Do you have any idea how it feels not to be able to share the same experiences that you have? I’m aware of the risks, Cyrus. And I understand your reservations after what happened to Jenny. I can’t imagine what that must have been like for you. But taking that next step is a risk I want. I care about you so much. I really do. It would mean the world to me if you were the one to turn me. But if you choose not to, I’ll just ask Bonnie. Either way, when the time comes, I’m going through with it. This is the life I want.”

A long silence fell between us. He looked dejected, sitting slumped over, staring out the passenger side window.

“You mean so much to me, Harlow,” he finally said. “The last thing I’d ever want is to hurt you.”

I took his hand and interlocked our fingers. “I know. I’m sure if I were in your shoes, I’d feel the same way. I just see what werewolves have with their mates and I want that for us.”

He turned to me and smiled slightly. “I want that, too. It’s just the turning part that scares me. I’m not saying I won’t. I just need a little more time to process this.”

It wasn’t a yes, but it wasn’t a no. I decided to let it go while we were in a somewhat positive place.

“Well, regarding the issue at hand with Madoc, I can just ignore him,” I said. “He barely knows how to use modern technology anyway. It’s not like he could find my location. We can let this be our night.”

“No, you’re right,” Cyrus said. “You should go. It’s what’s best for the packs. We don’t want to give him an excuse to make more demands of us.”

“Are you sure? I’d hate for this to ruin date night.”

“I’m sure. And no, this didn’t ruin date night. Believe me, there will be plenty more date nights to come. And...” He grinned and kissed my hand, but I could see that behind that smile, he was still troubled. “You’ve got a birthday coming up, so I need to start getting your present ready.”

“I don’t need anything—” I began, but he put his finger up to my lips.

“I’m giving you a birthday present. End of discussion.”

I laughed and nodded my head. I’d let him have this one.

I texted Madoc back to let him know I was on my way before we pulled out of the drive-in and began traveling down the highway toward Gnaw Bone. I could still feel some tension in the air regarding me being turned, but neither of us said anything more about it. I hoped more than anything that Cyrus would be the one to turn me.

But until then, duty called. What did that vampire want this time?
