Chapter 76 - Rejecting A Wolf

Jace had his arms wrapped around Aurora's waist. His chin was resting on her shoulder as they stood together outside on the balcony of their bedroom.

After Jace came back that day, he told her what had happened. Together with prisoners of the council, they fought their way out and burned that awful building to the ground.

As luck would have it, Aiden, Aurora's brother from her past life, was still alive along with his mate Cherise.

Five years didn't seem like a long time, but it was enough time for some people to change. Aurora came face to face with Aiden the day after everything happened.

"You look nothing like her, yet Henry's convinced you and Jace are them. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt." is what Aiden told her. To prove she was who she said she was, she convinced him with their shared memories.

As siblings, she wanted to change him and Cherise into lycans, but the couple refused. Aurora understood why they would refuse. Lycans were a type of trauma for them.

Aurora watched over them as they had children and died of old age while she stayed young and plum.

She wasn't sad, though. It was the cycle of life. After a hundred years, the kingdom she dreamed of finally took shape.

For the most part, the werewolves led themselves under the supervision of the lycans. Each lycan was given a pack to watch over, and now that things were fully stabilized for the most part in the kingdom, Aurora recalled all the lycans.

She created a Lycan city, and most of the Lycans lived here with their families. Things have calmed down, and finally, she could let out a breath of relief.

"Look at the beautiful city you created." Jace nuzzles the side of her neck. "You've worked hard."

Aurora held the arms around her waist and chuckled. "Don't act like I did this alone."

"But you did it alone, my beloved," Jace whispered seductively in her ear, sending shivers down her spine.

"Stop that, we've been having sex since yesterday." Aurora scowled.

"Aww, come on, you never complained before," Jace whined like a child.

"That was before..." Aurora stopped herself from finishing those words. Because if she said them out loud, then that would really make it real.

"Before what?" Jace asked. He raised his chin off her shoulder and stood straight. Aurora has been acting strange lately.

"Before I had less work to do, now I have more work to do," Aurora said in a serious tone. Jace rolled his eyes at her.

"I'm the king, don't you think I know how much work you actually do?" Jace didn't buy anything she said. "You really have been acting strange. What you're not pregnant are you?"

It was really meant as an offhand comment. But when Aurora didn't answer after three minutes, it registered in Jace's mind.

"You can't be serious."Jace let go of her waist and turned her to face himself. "You're pregnant? How? When?"

Jace's hands that were on her shoulders shook. He was nervous and panicked. How do you react to this news? His thoughts were jumbled. Should he be happy? Or play it off, cool?

"I know you said you didn't want a baby. But it was honestly an accident I....." Aurora began rambling, and Jace knew if he didn't do something to cut her off, she'd get the wrong idea.

So he moved and hugged her tightly. "This is the best news, a baby with you."

"You're not angry?" Aurora asked in disbelief.

"Why would I be angry? Is this what you have been hiding? I didn't even smell anything different about you." Jace laughed joyously.

"Well, that's because I masked my scent." She answered awkwardly.

"Then unmask it, seriously, I would never be angry at you for something like this. This is our baby, no matter what. I'd love this baby as much as I love you." Jace told her before kissing her forehead.

"I just thought you may not want to. Think about what happened to the others." Aurora dropped her head and said softly,

Jace hugged her closely and rubbed her back in circles. She was so strong and yet so vulnerable at the same time.

"Back then, we didn't have the power to rebel. But this time things are different. We will protect our baby." Jace comforted her. Aurora raised her head and looked at him. Her eyes were slightly red when they met his.

"You mean it will be different this time?" Aurora asked.

"Of course, it will be," Jace laughed softly. "I'll die to protect my family, and I'll fight heaven and earth to protect you and the baby."

Aurora slumped, her tense body relaxed, making Jace smile brightly, and he picked her up and carried her to the bed where he gently laid her down.

Then he climbed over her and laid sideways before he placed his ear to her flat stomach.

"Let's protect our children from harm," Aurora said as he placed his ear on her belly. Unmasking her scent, it hit Jace in full force, but that wasn't what amazed him.

He could hear it. He could hear Aurora's strong heartbeat, but that wasn't the thing that amazed him. What amazed him was the three softer heartbeats.

His eyes widened, and he looked at Aurora in amazement.

"T... three?" he stammered, looking at his dumbfounded expression she could help but burst into a fit of laughter.

"Yes, Jace three. " She nodded and answered with a smile on her face. Jace laid his head on her stomach in amazement.

That became his favorite pastime when they were alone. He loved to lay his head on her stomach and listen to the children.

And as Aurora's belly grew and the trio's movements became vigorous, he didn't care if they kicked him silly with their robust movements he still did it without fail.

Time flew by quickly, and then so the king and queen welcomed the lycan triplet princesses.

Three beautiful girls, two were born with their mother's silvery hair, and one was born with their father's black hair.

Their names were Ester, Eden, and Emilia. The kingdom rejoiced in the birth of the princesses. Some had believed that Aurora wasn't able to have children, so to have three at one time made many rejoice.

The kingdom was bound to be surprised as two and half years later, the king and queen welcomed a set of opposite-sex twins.

They were named Jacob and Jeneila. But three years after that, Aurora and Jace welcomed another baby, a boy they named Xavier.

It was a sort of pattern. In the end, Jace and Aurora welcome nine beautiful children. Five girls and four boys.

And they lived happily ever after.
