Chapter 68 - Rejecting A Wolf

Tom's line of questioning was ingenious. He stated clearly that Aurora and Jace had nothing to do with the war. Good passersby came to help in a war that wasn't their own?

It just seemed impossible for it to be true. So, who and what exactly are these two? Tom wouldn't let go until he found out the truth.

"Are you going to persist?" Jace asked, looking at Tom straight in the eyes. Tom didn't answer he only nodded. " Based on what do you believe we are that Aurora and Jace?"

"Clear you aren't normal werewolves that is one reason," Tom paused and pointed to the boy laying on the bed. Henry was visibly looking better as time went on. "And based on the strong reaction you had even risking exposing what you are to save a boy unrelated to you? That seems far-fetched to me."

Jace looked at Tom and scoffed, "Then tell me, would you believe that we are them based on these facts alone?"

"Are you admitting to it then?" Tom shot back. But Jace only gave him an uninterested glance.

"The dead cannot come back to life. I know this all too well. Henry reminds me of my younger brother whom I lost some time ago. But I do admit that I'm not a normal werewolf." Jace tapped his chin as he explained.

"How convenient that you had a younger brother who Henry reminds you of." Tom smiled coldly.

Before Jace could answer, Aurora flew in bird form and shifted right there making Jace choke on the words he had prepared.

"What will you do if I say we are exactly that Aurora and Jace? Would that make a difference?" Aurora glanced at the trio and asked in a low tone.

"I...I. You," Tom fumbled with his words. He looked at Morel and Nick to see them just as shocked as he was.

"What difference would it make?" Aurora asked a bit louder. "Doesn't our motive align with yours? Don't we want to wipe out the council scum? Why does it matter who or what we are?"

"How can we trust someone we know nothing about?" Nick couldn't help but ask. Aurora lazily glanced at him before curling her lips upwards.

"You're right then," Aurora nodded before she turned to Jace awkwardly standing there. Moving to beside him Aurora took in a deep breath. "We are lycans. Three lycans are in this room right now."

Aurora pointed to herself, then Jace, and finally at Henry who was healing at a rapid rate. His transformation into a lycan would need him to be completely in tip-top shape.

Tom was completely frozen at this point staring at Aurora in disbelief and doubt.

"That's not possible." Tom firmly denied it.

"You said it yourself, that we are not normal werewolves. That is because we are not werewolves, to begin with." Aurora explained patiently.

Without waiting on them to fully digest the information Aurora shape-shifted into Henry on the spot. There was no difference between them except for the fact Aurora had a vagina.

Without missing another second she continued to shift into the various people in the room. It gave them no choice but to completely believer her words.

"Then who are you? " Tom shakily asked and Aurora raised her head to the ceiling as if contemplating the question.

"I am Aurora Dale, the dead Aurora is me but please some think that I am entirely her, and she is entirely me," Aurora told them. Suspecting something was one thing but finding out you were right all this time was another type of feeling.

But Aurora wasn't done there. She had more to say.

"Call me Aurora. No last name because my father has no last name." Aurora paused and glanced at the silent man beside her. "I am the daughter of the moon goddess Selene. I am the Queen of werewolves and Lycans and the man beside me stands the king."

Nick, Morel, and Tom needed time to fully process the information that was thrown at them. Surprisingly, the most shocking was not the being king and queen but the fact that they were Aurora Dale and Jace Maddox.

Tom walked out of the room in a daze and Morel looked at them silently before disappearing. They needed time to adjust. The couple understood that.

The evening turned into night, and Aurora and Jace took turns monitoring Henry's change. After he fully healed all his wounds it would take him a while to change into a lycan.

Aurora wanted to have a proper chat with Jace. So she turned to the only other person remaining in the room, Nick.

Nick's reaction wasn't as big as the other two. For the simple reason that he didn't know them that well. For Tom, Aurora was his mate. For Morel, she tried to save them from the council's ruthless hand.

"Can you get us a room? " Aurora asked Nick. Nick nodded and proceed to show them the way.

Nick showed them into a room with a bathroom attached before he promised to watch over Henry as he escorted them into the room and left.

Some things were just not appropriate to say out in the open. Jace and Aurora needed some privacy to talk things out as mates. The fact she let everything out and the fact she attacked him all needed to be sorted out.

When they entered the room, Aurora went to look out the window, and Jace went towards the bed.

Standing with her back facing him, Aurora looked out the window and into the night sky. Jace was quietly sitting on the bed, looking at her back.

There was a type of awkward silence between them. Jace couldn't take the silence anymore and stood up.

Slowly, he walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her body. The fact that she didn't shrug him off made him happy.

"Today, I'm sorry." Aurora apologized to Jace. Moving her hands, she placed them on his arms that were around her and gently squeezed. "It's no excuse to attack you like that. How hurt you must have been."

"I'm not hurt," Jace mumbled. She held back most of her strength, so how could it hurt?

"Not physical pain, emotional pain." Aurora turned her head to look at the man behind her. "Shall I make it up to you?"

"And how do you plan to do that?" Jace smiled and raised his eyebrow at her.

"Your cock is poking me on my butt." Aurora pointed out dryly.

"That's the compensation I want then. " Jace chuckled.

"Then shall we have a bath?" Aurora suggestively rubbed his arms.

"Yes, let me bathe you with my tongue." Jace smiled lovingly at Aurora.

"Not before my bath." Aurora pouted, and without answering, Jace tightened his arms around her and bent his knees, lifting her in the process and headed into the bathroom.

Thank God they got a room with an adjacent bathroom because of the things he planned to do to her, it would be inconvenient to do so in a public bathroom.

After entering, he placed her down and unwrapped his arms from her body before undressing himself.

As he finished undressing, he looked at the already naked Aurora and couldn't help but gulp.

Her body looked so beautiful under the fluorescent light in the bathroom. Without holding back, he wrapped his left arm around her naked waist and used his right hand to grip her jaw gently.

Controlling her movement, he brought her up to meet his lips. The two locked lips in a heated exchange. What started as a slow, gentle kiss ventured off into a heated battle of tongues.
