Chapter 45 worried for him or her?

Chapter 45 worried for him or her?
Alexander’s P.O.V. (Continued)

“I was desperate, Alex. I wanted to save him at any cost. I…. I was determined to do anything to save him. So, I gave him my blood but it only brought temporary relief to him. Can you believe this? My blood….. my royal beta blood, which has the best healing abilities, just gave that pup temporary relief.”
I didn’t want to believe him, but that broken look on his face couldn’t be ignored.
But it also made sense.
If the pup is really born from a true omega and an alpha, then his constitution is too unique to be affected by any medicine or anything that could affect his immune system.
If the pup was with Amelia, then his mother was assaulted by an alpha and was left in the wilderness to die.
I mentally pitied his father for not knowing what he threw away.
This pup, if it succeeds in staying alive, can be the most powerful and dangerous werewolf in the future.
He could even challenge the bearer of the throne in the future.
I sucked in a breath when I realized what I was thinking. My mind was taking that pup as a threat to my family and the throne, but in a different way, he can be the powerful and pure soul in the future.
Every coin has two sides. The same goes with our souls. Circumstances can turn a pup into a saint or in a monster.
“Who is that pup, Hunter?” I asked him in a stern voice, still processing everything.
“I don’t know. Amelia is taking care of him. A… Arthur said that he became Amelia’s salvation after she regained her consciousness. She ….. she will die if anything happens to Xander, Alex.” He replied to me, bringing Amelia’s connection with Xander in the conversation.
Wait….
Xander????
She gave him a very similar name to mine?
It was only a coincidence, but I felt a constriction in my chest.
Even Velan stood up when he heard the pup’s name.
I slowly walked to him and embraced him. He hid his face in the crook of my neck and continued weeping.
I didn’t know why he was so heartbroken or in despair, but I comforted him.
“How was he when you left the hospital?” I asked him calmly, intrigued about that pup’s well-being.
“He was stable but unconscious. I provided them a few vials of my blood to stock so that they can use it again if he will have another episode in the coming future.” He answered me while sobbing.
“You did the right thing, Huner. Even if he is a rogue, he is our subject and yes, it is our responsibility to take care of him.” I spoke to him calmly, thinking about talking to Amelia about that pup.
For the next few minutes, I let him cry and vent out all his despair.
I slowly took him to the couch and made him sit there.
He leaned back and rested the back of his head at the edge of the couch. His eyes were now closed, but his face was completely stained with tear marks.
I went to the bar and opened the upper cabinet there to take out a wine bottle.
These wines were specially produced for us. They have a very small amount of wolfsbane in them to give us the sensation of having alcohol in our system.
For now, Hunter needed something to numb his senses so that he could relax.
“Do you know that Amelia and her team use an ancient ritual to bind them with whichever pack they work?” he asked me suddenly in a cracked voice after some time.
I glanced at him with raised brows in surprise.
“Is there a ritual like this?” I asked him in a surprised tone, pouring wine in two glasses.
“I don’t know. I am not into ancient history and this kind of stuff. We can ask any of the retired librarians.” He replied while sniffing a little.
“Where are you going?” I asked him in a concerned voice when I saw him standing up.
“Bathroom.” He answered absentmindedly.
I sighed and walked to the single couch. I put one glass on the coffee table between the long couch and the single couch and took a big sip from my glass.
“You are troubled with that pup’s condition too?” Velan asked me with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“A pup born from a pureblood omega and an alpha is rare to be born, Velan. The world has a false assumption about the omegas that they are born weak and fragile, but who with the knowledge of every rank of our kind knows the truth well.” I replied to him with a serious expression, sipping the wine slowly.
“Do you want to help because of his rare breed or for Amelia?” he asked another question with the same amusement dancing in his eyes.
“What do you think?” I asked him nonchalantly while drinking. My phone was still silent. I was waiting for Amelia to respond to my messages, but it seemed that she is still in the hospital.
He snorted but didn’t say anything again. I looked at the bathroom side when the door opened.
I smiled in satisfaction when I saw Hunter coming out. He had cleaned himself. He was still a little upset, but better than earlier.
“Did you leave her in the hospital?” I asked him when he walked towards the couch.
“Yeah. She collapsed and fainted when the boy fainted. The doctor there suggested keeping her overnight for the observation.” He replied to me and I shot up on my feet before he could sit down.
“What? A…. and you are telling me about it now?” I yelled at him angrily.
“Calm your horses down, Alex. She is okay. Emotionally unstable, but okay. You don’t need to panic.” He spoke to me in a tired tone, taking his glass from the coffee table.
“And don’t think about going there either. Your announcement to bring her here as a bodyguard has already created a great sensation. Don’t make things more difficult for her.” He chided, making me grimace.
He is the only one in the whole world who could talk to me in this tone because we were like brothers.
“I have already instructed Arthur to notify me as soon as possible if she wakes up or anything else happens to her.” He added it in the same tired tone and took a big gulp of the wine after that.
I was still tempted to go to see her, but my rational mind stopped me.
I sat down again reluctantly and finished the whole glass in one go.
“I am planning to talk to all the alphas with whom they have worked by now, Alex.” Hunter spoke to me calmly after a few seconds.
“I was about to propose the same thing. I am sure that there are more pups and adults like Xander in their group. Those pups need a pack link to protect them.” I spoke to him with a serious expression.
