Chapter 145 Chapter 146

Chapter 145 Chapter 146

It was lunchtime; Amelia could be seen making her way to the exit accompanied by Tony and some of her colleagues when she suddenly heard her from behind.

Turning around, she saw Adrian walking towards her, and on seeing him, the nurses that were with Amelia and Tony squealed happily.

"Wow, he's so handsome; I wish I could date him," one of the nurses whispered to her colleague.

"Me too," the second nurse also whispered, and with that, Amelia glared angrily at both of them but didn't say anything to them.

"Doctor Amelia, you are on your way to have lunch, right?" Adrian asked her as he got closer.

"Yes, sir, but why do you ask?" Amelia asked him.

"Well, I was on my way to have lunch too, but I don't know where you guys usually have lunch, so I was wondering if you could show me around," Adrian asked Amelia, who turned and looked at Tony, whom she had promised to have lunch with earlier in the morning.

"Well actually..."

"Sir, I can also show you around if you want," one of the nurses said to Adrian as she noticed that Amelia was about to refuse.

"Me too," the second nurse said to Adrian with a charming smile.

Seeing how her colleagues were volunteering to show Adrian around, Amelia, who at first wanted to refuse, quickly changed her mind.

"Yes, of course, I can show you around," Amelia said to Adrian, and immediately the nurses who were volunteering to show Adrian around, including Tony, frowned angrily.

"Let's go then," Adrian said to Amelia as he followed her from behind, not sparing a glance either at the nurses or Tony.

Meanwhile, Erica had just finished checking up on a patient and was making her way out of the ward when one of the nurses walked towards her.

"Good afternoon, ma'am," the nurse greeted Erica.

"Yes, good afternoon. How can I help you?" Erica asked her.

"Doctor Paul asked me to tell you to meet him in his office; he has been calling your phone for a while now, but you haven't been picking up," the nurse said to Erica.

"Ooh, I left my phone in my office. Thanks for the information, by the way. I will go and see him right away," Erica said to the nurse, who nodded in reply before walking away, and with that, Erica made her way to the office of Dr Paul, who was also the director of the hospital.

Getting to the front of the office, she placed a soft knock and waited for the response of Dr Paul.

"Come in," Dr Paul's voice sounded from inside after some minutes, and with that Erica opened the door and walked in, only to see Dr Paul, who was completely engrossed in his computer.

"Good afternoon, Dr Paul," Erica greeted him as she got inside the office.

"Yes, good afternoon, Erica, please have a seat," Dr Paul said to Erica, who sat down on the chair opposite him.

"I have been calling you for a while now. Why haven't you been picking up your call?" Dr Paul asked Erica.

"I was checking up on some patients, and I left my phone in my office," Erica said to Dr Paul.

"Okay, I understand. I hope you still remember about the patient that was transferred to Darlington Hospital for a surgery?" Dr Paul asked Erica.

"Yes, I still remember about him." Erica said to the doctor.

"Okay, I just got a call from Darlington Hospital, and they said that the patient has just woken up after spending two days in a coma after the surgery," Dr Paul said to Erica.

"Ooh, that's good news," Erica said to him.

"Yeah, that's good news, so I want you to go to Darlington Hospital and check on the patient in order to know if he could be transferred back to this hospital for the rest of the treatment or whether he will remain in Darlington Hospital till he recovers completely. I would have gone there myself, but as you can see I'm very busy right now, so I don't know if you can go." Dr Paul asked Erica.

"Yes, of course I can go; after all, I have nothing else to do now," Erica said to him.

"Okay, thank you so much," Dr Paul said to Erica.

"Don't mention it, please," Erica said to him before standing up and walking out of the office, and with that she made her way to her office and took her handbag, phone and car keys before making her way to the exit.

Coming out of the hospital, she went directly to the hospital's garage and took her car and drove away.

It was a twenty-minute ride from the hospital where Erica works to the Darlington hospital. Getting to the hospital, she parked her car in the parking before making her way into the hospital.

"Good morning, ma'am. How are you doing?" One of the female receptionists asked Erica as she walked towards them.

"I'm doing good. What about you?" Erica asked her.

"I'm doing good too. How can we help you?" The receptionist asked Erica.

"Well, I'm a doctor, Erica, from Philadelphia Hospital. One of our patients was transferred here for an urgent surgery, and I heard that he had just woken up, so I wanted to check on him," Erica said to the receptionist.

"Okay, what's the patient's name, please?" The receptionist asked Amelia.

"His name is Elias Rodeo," Erica said to the receptionist, who quickly typed it on her computer, and on seeing the name, she asked one of her colleagues to lead Erica to the ward where the patient is.

"Follow me, please," the receptionist said to Erica as she stood up and walked towards her, but as they were about to walk away, Erica spotted someone who looked like Alex walking towards them while adjusting the white coat he was putting on.

"Wait just a minute, is that not Dr Alex Darlington?" Erica asked the receptionist with a frightened tone, as she knew that Alex was already dead.

"Yes, it's him," the receptionist said to Erica.

"Ahhh, ghost, ghost," Erica screamed in fright as she ran out of the hospital, leaving everyone, including the receptionist, Alex, who was just making his way out, and those around in shock.
