134. A Surprising Visit
Third Person
Spencer looks up from the stack of papers on his desk as a loud knock sounded on his study door. He scowls for being interrupted but tells the person to enter anyways. It was well into the late night and he has been quite busy with all the demands from the pack members on trivial things in the pack grounds.
Most of it had to deal with Shane’s birthday celebration. Something he found both annoying and irritating to say the least. He didn’t care too much for all the planning and running around that the people were doing, getting ready for the big event. He was born in the early morning, so the first shift was bound to happen early.
So, the pack members decided to do a celebratory brunch that would last throughout the day. He was finally going to meet his wolf and Spencer wondered what the young pup’s personality was going to be.
If it was anything like his son’s, then he had one hell of a time on his hands. Noref, Spencer’s wolf, growls with agreement on his wondering thoughts. Now, someone was interrupting him, which only made him more annoyed.
One of the Sentinels enters the room. “Sorry for the intrusion Alpha, but Shane hasn’t returned home.”
Spencer frowns as he places the paper in his hand on the desk. “Did you check his room? Maybe he never left.”
“We checked the entire grounds. He’s nowhere to be found.” The man then moves uneasily.
“What?” He growls.
“It’s just, Derek is missing as well. I tried to inform Gamma Trevor, but he isn’t responding. Also, Raghorn and Artimus both left hours ago and they still haven’t returned either.”
Spencer slams his hand down on his desk, making the man slightly jump from the force of it. Spencer stands up, pressing his hands against the top of the desk.
“Where are they?”
“W-We don’t know. We didn’t even realize they left until well after dark.”
“Why do I have you morons even be the guards if you’re not doing your damn job?!” He barks out at him.
He stomps out of the room in his angry state and goes straight to Stella’s quarters. Slamming the door open he scans the room to see the bedcovers in disarray and the adjoining bathroom’s light on. He could hear the sounds of retching coming from the inside.
With a purpose, he strides to the open door to see her on the floor, her head over the toilet as she vomits everything in her stomach.
“Where is he?” He demands in a hard tone.
Wiping her pale face, she looks up at him with bitter eyes. “Can’t you tell I’m a bit busy here?” She snaps at him.
“Where is my son?!” He barks loudly.
Her face contorts in a sneer. “I don’t know where your precious son is. Why are you asking me? As you can see, I’m currently going through hell carrying your other child!” She screams back at him.
He stares down at her, showing no sympathy of her state. “If I find out you did something with Shane, there won’t be another child. For your body will be thrown in the depths of the lake, completely forgotten.”
She stares up at him with hate and disbelief. “I hate you.” She whispers.
“You think that bothers me?” His voice was void of any emotion as he walks away, leaving her there.
“I hate you! I FUCKING HATE YOU!” She screams louder as he slams the door shut.
He briskly walks down the stairs to check Shane’s room on the floor below him, but he stops midway. Noref senses something that didn’t seem quite right in the dark of the mansion. Telling him something was definitely off.
“Come out and show yourself. I know you’re there.” He demands, using his Alpha dominance.
A low chuckle, that sounded a bit off, echoes through the hall. He watches as a man steps out of the shadows looking like he was on the brink of death. Blood drips down his side as an open gash was sliced down his torso. His right arm was mangled as dark blood dripped down from his hand.
“Well, well, well.” The man starts hacking in brutal coughs. “If it isn’t the wannabe Alpha himself. I came here to slice the throat of that slime’s puny neck, but I found you instead.” Again, another attack of coughing hits him.
“Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my home?” Spencer angrily demands.
He didn’t see this man as a threat. Especially since he wouldn’t be able to hold his own in this horrible state. He just stands there staring at him with indifference, pissing the man off.
“Peachy you wouldn’t remember me.” He growls. “Stabbing people in the back and pretending to act like you don’t know them must be your specialty.”
“Get to the point.”
“Marcus. I want Marcus’s head in the palm of my hands. He wiped out my men. If he thinks I won’t kill his brat, he’s highly mistaken-”
“What are you talking about?” Spencer frowns in displeasure.
He didn’t really care what Marcus did in his spare time. He never like him to begin with and always threw him in the back of his mind. But now this rogue was here spouting out a bunch of nonsense.
“Like you don’t know! To finish the deed that should have been dealt with twenty years ago! Getting real sloppy ain’t you Alpha? What, scared of a few young brats?” He sneers.
Spencer scowls deeply at him. “You better start making sense rogue, or I’ll end your life right now.”
“Those brats beyond the waterfall. Using me and my men to deal with your dirty work. What a load of crap! You set us up with those White wolves!” He starts heaving with rage as his body quakes with the pain and the loss of blood.
Spencer’s body freezes at the mention of the White wolves. His eyes carefully looks at the rogue with consideration. “White wolves attacked your men? Where?” He demands, coming closer to the man in a deadly walk.
Peering down at him with yellow eyes he ominously says, “Tell me everything you know, starting with Marcus.”
