133. Newcomers

133. Newcomers
I didn’t know I had fallen asleep when someone was slightly shaking my shoulder. Blinking awake I stare up into bright silver orbs. Prince Z gives me a smile as he says, “I know we’re all exhausted but we have a situation.” He says to me.

I try to get up when my body was being held down. Looking at Shane practically on me, I shake him awake while rubbing my fingers through his hair. I feel his hot skin as sweat was dripping from his pores.

“Shane?” I shake him again, making him groan.

He slowly sits up looking worse than he had before. He suddenly takes off his shirt as he mumbles, “It’s so freaking hot in here.”

My eyes widen at the display of all that muscle covered in a sheen of sweat. I couldn’t help but stare at his magnificent body in awe and longing. The boy literally had me drooling right now. I snap out of it when I realize he was now trying to take off his pants, seeming to be quite out of it.

“Shane!” I hiss, trying to get him to stop doing what he was doing.

Grabbing his hands from unbuttoning his jeans and pulling them down, he suddenly leans his head into my neck and inhales deeply.

He sighs in pleasure. “You smell so freaking amazing.” He mumbles in my ear, his breath tickling my skin.

The heat in my face felt ridiculously warm at his bold statement. “S-Shane-eep!” I cry out as he nips my earlobe with his teeth then sucks on it.

“Why do you smell so good? I just want to eat you all up.” He whispers in my ear.

Immediate shivers went down my spine and straight to my core between my legs. His body was letting out so much heat against me and for a split moment I forgot where we were and who was watching this intimate scene between us.

Snapping out of my momentarily lapse of indecency, I push Shane away, fighting the urge to pull him back into me as he pouts adorably with a small whine to his voice. What has gotten into him?

Z clears his throat, getting my attention. His young face was slightly pink, his eyes adverting from my own. “I can tell he’s on the verge of shifting for the first time. His symptoms are similar to mine and my brother’s, but without…well, that, that he’s trying to do right now.”

He seems to be uncomfortable as he speaks, looking away. Shane was once again trying to sniff me, seeming to not notice or care that we weren’t alone. I push him back again, but he just drops his head onto my shoulder with a sigh.

He was burning up so much.

“You need to rest.” I say to him, but he starts rubbing on me instead.

“I don’t want too.” He mumbles then goes silent.

His body suddenly becomes heavy against mine and I frown. “Shane?”

A soft snore comes from him and I sigh in relief. I lay him down with a bit of difficulty as he was not light. He seems so exhausted as I peer down at his face, gently caressing his cheek.

“I need to talk to you.” Z says as he watches us. “But it will have to wait until he’s awake since I’ll need to inform him as well.”

He turns around to go back where his brother was at, but then instantly stops. He turns around in a fast motion, his brows knitted in alarm, looking past me. Suddenly shifting of feet echoes through the tunnel of the entrance and I whip my head to see Nami and Rufus quickly rushing inside. Both of their faces were etched with concern and confusion.

“Who are they?” Z demands, sounding a bit panicked.

“Blue Silver wolves. There’s four of them, two are injured.” Rufus immediately replies.

“They seem to be following a scent that led them here. We haven’t announced our presence yet. Lunar, Malory, and Antwon are watching them closely.” Nami rushes out to say.

“Are they a threat?”

“We’re not quite sure, but something tells me they aren’t. One of the men has a scent similar to the Red wolf’s mate.”

Hearing that I instantly perk up. A scent similar to Derek? There was only one person that came to mind. Turning back to the prince I say, “It has to be Gamma Trevor! He’s Derek’s dad. He’s probably searching for him right now.”

Z looks down at me with consideration. Looking back up to Nami he says, “Approach them, find out their names and if one of them state the name Trevor, inform me immediately.”

“Yes, your highness.” Nami breathes out as he rushes back outside, followed by Rufus.

“He won’t be a threat to you or your brother.” I quickly inform him, hoping that it was true.

“I’m not afraid of that. If it’s not who you think it is then I have much to be concerned about.” He looks to all the sleeping children with a frown. “There are too many to protect, not to mention my brother can’t be moved right now. He’s still fighting the disease.”

“You think the rogues will come looking for us?”

He doesn’t answer right away as his brows furrowed even more. “No, it isn’t them I’m worried about, but someone far worser than they could ever be.” He watches the entrance now waiting.

I didn’t understand what he meant by that. Once again, the drive to ask him the questions of why he was here in this cave, why his brother was in that condition, and why they were all very alert and suspicious of their surroundings, overthrew me.

But before I could voice anything aloud, Z perks up and looks to me. “I guess you were right.”

Nami came rushing back in the cave. “They have two injured people with them. One of them can barely walk while the other is nearly unconscious. What do you want to do?”

“I’ll head out there and-”

“Absolutely not.” Osmoses comes in, cutting him off. “We’ll allow this Trevor to come in, but I highly request to make the others wait outside.”

“But they’re injured.” Nami looks to him confused.

“Even so, I don’t trust them. If they were able to make it all the way here, then they can wait it out until I’m convinced, they’re not a threat.” He crosses his arms as he says this.

Z sighs again. “Alright fine.” He then looks down at me again. “I guess you’ll have to go instead. Seems everyone you came with are out.”

Oh, right. Shane wasn’t going to be able to be coherent in this state and both Derek and Benji were way too exhausted. I was the only one able to face the wrath of Trevor alone. This was just perfect.
