I pulled her closer to myself, and I caressed her back

"It's fine, everything is alright, just breathe," I said trying to comfort her

"Breathe in and breathe out, okay?" I said

"Okay" she responded and did as I asked, She looked so lonely and very pale and her appearance made me pity her. Her hair was light and dirty and her skin was very pale like, she looked like someone who hadn't eaten for days

"Can you share with me what's bothering you?" I asked and she nodded her head, She pulled away from my embrace and that was when I saw her face, her eyes looked dull and her lips were dry, it was obvious that she was without care

"Yes, I can" She said and cleared her throat

"My parents have died and I don't know anyone else, everyone has decided to reject me and I feel like I shouldn't have come into this world, I got adopted but the people have turned me into their punching bag, there's no day that I can ever rest" She paused and exhaled sharply before continuing

"I don't want to go back there, I don't want to go anywhere else, I just want to be alone and all myself," She said, I hadn't felt this way before So I couldn't say that I understood how she felt but I tried to put myself in her shoes, how she would be feeling and I know that it would be terrible

Ever since I was born, I have been given the best life. A life full of luxury but I had a principle to follow, There was a way that I ought to follow and live, Every single mistake I made could be the ruin of the pack, I had to be perfect and that was what I was thought from the very moment that I was born. I have been preparing to be the Alpha of this pack

I heard one of my kids cough and it interrupted my thoughts. I turned to my young boy and kissed his forehead

"I love you all and I want the best for you all, I just hope that I don't make any mistakes," I said as I sat on one of the beds

All of this was sudden and I never expected it, I didn't know if I was ready to be a father yet but seeing my little angels, I cherish them so much and I am ready to do anything for them I just hope that I do the right thing and be the best father they could be

I walked to each of their beds and kissed her forehead before exiting the room, I promised to take them out when they were awake and I wanted it to be a fun one

I made my way to Imogen's room. As I approached the room, her scene became stronger and it was so intoxicating

I knocked on the door and pushed the door room open, She was sitting on the bed with her eyes on her phone and as soon as she heard the door open, she raised her head as soon she heard the door of her room open

"Hey," She said she sounded so calm and she looked so innocent just like when I first saw her. From that day we became good friends, we were almost inseparable and I could swear that we were inseparable but my dad separated us, I had to do what I thought was right unknowingly that this was a matter of the heart and not of the mind and will

"So, I feel excited right now and I think that this is worth celebrating," Adam said

"You love celebrations Adam, You still haven't changed," She said and we both laughed

"Yes, everything good is worth celebrating, it's a way I give thanks," He said and I nodded my head. I held his hands and I stared into her eyes.

"You look like an angel," I said out loud, No one has ever caught my attention the way she did, she is amazing and I love everything about her. Her eyes, her hair, her skin, and even her scent

"And you look like a prince," She said

"I am a king, Imogen" I reminded her

"I know, but not to be, you are their king and you are mate" She replied and I brought my hands to her face

I touched her face and placed a kiss on her cheeks. "I don't want you to stress yourself, Imogen, You know that you don't have to work right?" I said

"Yes, I know but it has been my dream to heal the sick" She paused and looked down at our hands intertwined together

"I have always wanted it and now that I am with my first love, all I need is your support, I want you to support me and be there for me Adam," She said and raised her head and our eyes met. I wanted to stay in this position forever

"I hope this never ends," She said

"It won't" I replied and the faint smile on her face disappeared

"What's wrong" I asked

"Nothing good lasts forever" she replied

"Don't say that, I love you Imogen, and the past few years without you haven't been easy, I couldn't forgive myself" I said. I had no choice but to listen to my father then

"You can't mate with that girl, she is a commoner and she's not worth your time. I thought your guy's friendship was pure but you fell in love with her" My father said that day

"But dad..."

"There's no one but Adam, If you want to be a great leader, listen to the advice of one," He said and walked away from me

The thought of it made me flinch

"Are you okay?" Imogen asked

"I am totally fine, I mean, how can I not be fine, I am sitting in front of the woman I love" I responded and pulled her in for a kiss
