Chapter 87: Excited

Adam's pov

got ready for the new day and walked out of my room with my cup of coffee, I walked to the kids' room and they were already awake but they were crying

"Where is our daddy" they cried and their words hurt me, I was standing right in front of them and they were asking where their dad is

"I'm here," I said, I was planning to surprise Imogen at the dining table but things weren't going the way I planned

I stood in the kids' room, feeling torn. On one hand, I wanted to comfort them and let them know that I was there for them. On the other hand, I wanted to surprise Imogen at the dining table and show her that I was serious about being a father to the kids. I felt conflicted, and I didn't know what to do.

I looked at the kids, who were sitting on the bed, looking up at me with tears in their eyes. "Daddy?" one of them said, their voice trembling. "I miss Papa." I felt my heart break, and I knew I had to say something. I took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "I know you miss Papa," I said, my voice gentle. "But I'm here for you. I'm your father, and I love you.

The kids looked at me, their eyes wide. I could tell they were confused, but they seemed to be listening. "I know it's been hard," I continued. "But I want you to know that I'm here for you. I want to be your father, and I want to be part of your life. I want to help you, and I want to love you." The kids looked at each other, then back at me. "Are you our father?" one of them asked.

I stood in the kids' room, not sure what to do. I felt torn between comforting them and surprising their mother. But before I could make a decision, the door flew open. I spun around, and I saw that it was Imogen, their mother. She rushed into the room, her eyes wide with excitement and relief. I stood frozen, unsure of what to do.

Imogen rushed over to the kids, and they threw their arms around her. "Mom!" they cried, their voices filled with joy. I stood there, watching the scene unfold. I felt happy for them, but I also felt a twinge of sadness. I was glad that I could make her happy and I was happy too, I was finally seeing my kids, kids that I had no idea about, and I couldn't help but feel guilty about it. in that moment, none of that mattered. All that mattered was that they were safe, and they were together with their mother.

Imogen turned to me, her expression full of confusion and surprise. "How did you rescue the kids?" she asked, her voice trembling. I took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "Don't worry about that now," I said, my voice gentle. "They're safe, and that's what matters." I could see that she still had questions, but I knew it wasn't the time to answer them. Instead, I reached out and pulled her into a hug. I held her tightly, feeling the relief of having her in my arms

As we stood there, hugging each other, I could feel the tension leaving Imogen's body. She relaxed into my arms, and I could feel her breathing slow. I knew that she was finally feeling safe again. We stood there for a long time, just holding each other. And then, I pulled back and looked into her eyes. "We should get them settled," I said, nodding towards the kids. She nodded

The kids were still sitting on the bed, looking at us with wide eyes. They were curious about what was going on, but they were also tired. I could see the fatigue in their faces, and I knew they needed to get some rest. "Why don't we get you all changed," I said, trying to sound cheerful.

Imogen looked at the kids, her face serious.

"My little angels, this is you, Father," I said and they stared at me confused

"What of our dad,"

"Mark isn't your father. He was only your stepfather. But Adam is your biological father, and he's here now." The kids looked at me, their eyes filled with confusion. "But what about Maxwell" one of them asked. I could tell that they were struggling to understand what was happening. "I know this is confusing," I said, trying to sound reassuring. "But we'll talk about it more tomorrow."

As the sun began to rise, the household staff started their daily routine. The butler prepared the breakfast table, and the maids came to the kids' rooms to get them dressed and ready for the day. I made my way downstairs, and I could smell the coffee brewing. The aroma filled the house, and I felt my stomach growl in anticipation. I was eager to see the kids and Imogen again and to spend time with them as a family.

Everyone gathered around the breakfast table, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The kids are laughing and joking with each other, and Imogen is looking relaxed and happy. She catches my eye and smiles at me, and I feel a sense of contentment settle over me.

As we ate breakfast, the kids chatted excitedly about their plans for the day. They talked about the games they wanted to play and the things they wanted to learn. Imogen listened to them with a smile on her face, and I could tell that she was happy to see them so animated. The staff bustled around us, bringing more food and drinks, but they did it so quietly that it was almost as if they weren't there. The whole scene felt like a cozy family moment, and I felt content to be a part of it.
