Chapter 289 ELECTRIC DESIRE
Edeline
Maxim walked over and stood next to me. “Oh yes, you totally do. Right here.” He winked at me before heading back to the truck. My parents were still gushing over me, brushing my hair back and leaning their cheeks against mine. I felt a wave of curiosity wash over me. Where were all the wolves? At this time of day, they were usually all over the place, lounging by the bonfires. I gave a little nod to the moon, silently thanking it for keeping things calm and quiet.
“Where is Nixx?” A wave of sadness crashed over me. I understood that he was hurting; after all, Percival had felt the same way when everything went down.
Mom and Dad exchanged a glance, and then Mom spoke up. “He is at the clinic. He is doing fine. You can see him last since he is out cold right now.”
I bit my lip and nodded, trying to push down the worry bubbling inside me.
Suddenly, the truck door banged shut, causing me to turn around with wide eyes. I was on edge. Maxim stood there, a smirk on his face. “Alright, Edeline. I will grab your stuff. Just go on and let the Alpha know you are around.” He was fighting a smile, clearly enjoying this moment.
Mom and Dad exchanged knowing looks before giving me the go-ahead to head over to the pack house. It was time to check myself in.
Taking a deep breath, I made my way toward the pack house, focusing on placing one foot in front of the other until I reached the front door. I paused for a moment, shutting my eyes and trying to prepare myself to face the familiar faces I had been avoiding.
You got this, Edeline! It is just William.
I opened my eyes, feeling a surge of energy, and pushed the door open, stepping into the foyer with a sense of ease. My face scrunched up as I looked around. The pack house had transformed significantly in terms of décor. It was modern and gender-neutral, a refreshing change.
As I headed toward the den where the stairs began, I noticed a couple of wolves lounging and watching TV. They glanced up at me, their eyes popping wide open in surprise.
“Luna?” one girl exclaimed. The others exchanged looks between her and me, their expressions a mix of confusion and awe.
I cleared my throat and asked, “Hey, is the Alpha in his office?” I raised an eyebrow, feeling my heart race. At least Percival was not around.
The girl shook her head, her eyes wide. “He is in the Alpha's suite.”
“Thanks!” I replied with a smile as I turned to head up the stairs. William never hung out there. I could not help but wonder why he was there now.
By the time I reached the third floor, my wolf was in a frenzy. Percival’s scent grew stronger, and I began to feel queasy. Taking a steadying breath, I strolled to the suite door and knocked lightly.
Hey, can we keep Percival out of here? Sure thing!
“Come on in!” a deep voice I did not recognize called out.
I bit my lip, nerves prickling through me as my palms grew sweaty and my heart raced. I opened the door to the spacious room, dimly lit by a single lamp.
As I entered, Percival’s scent enveloped me, and my wolf rolled around in my thoughts, feeling exhilarated.
There was William, lounging in a chair, gazing at a desk by the window. The view of the backyard showcased the night sky, now dominated by a full moon and twinkling stars.
The tall leather back of the chair faced me, obscuring my view of William’s face. There was no sign of Percival anywhere. A sigh escaped my lips, and I felt my nerves begin to fade away as I stepped into the room with a blank expression.
“Hey, Alpha William, it is Edeline. Alpha Maxim brought me back for good. We just arrived, and he wanted me to check in with you.” I ensured my voice was steady and unwavering.
For a moment, it felt calm.
Then, the chair spun around, and I found myself locked in a gaze with striking blue eyes that pierced right through me. It was Percival, and I could hardly believe what I was seeing! Shock coursed through me, and I was completely taken aback.
I was totally blown away.
Maxim stood up straight, and my eyes followed his movement, making him appear even taller. His lips parted slightly, and I noticed that his eyes were way bluer than I remembered. They gazed at me with an intensity that sent shivers down my spine.
His gaze wandered over me, taking in every dip, curve, and scar before finally locking onto mine. The electric vibe between us was magnetic, pulling me in, making me crave his presence. All my nerves faded away, replaced by pure desire. I felt our eyes widen in mutual surprise, both of us overwhelmed by the moment.
His intense look in those striking blue eyes was impossible to miss.
I stood there, my mouth hanging open, completely speechless. I could not believe it; it was written all over my face.
Yes, it was definitely Percival. But this version of him felt more like the one from my dreams—only larger now. His eyes had a tougher look, as if he had been through a ton of experiences.
His face no longer held that youthful vibe. Instead, he appeared ruggedly handsome. His hair was short all around, except the top, which was a bit longer than the sides. He wore a black t-shirt, similar to many guys I knew, and I could see his muscles straining against the fabric. Tattoos covered his forearms and biceps, and I guessed they wrapped around his shoulders, too.
Who was this wolf, anyway? He looked nothing like I remembered.
His features were the only familiar thing. His jaw appeared sharper and bulkier, indicating the muscle he had packed on since I last saw him. He was no longer 21; he had just celebrated his 22nd birthday last month. Yet there was something else about him, something that radiated dominance, and it drove me wild. I gulped.
“William is not the Alpha anymore,” he said, his deep baritone voice cutting through the silence that enveloped us. It came out as a nervous whisper as he got up from his desk and walked toward me slowly.
His stare sent a thrill through me, something I had never experienced before—much more intense than before. My knees felt wobbly under the weight of his gaze. My breathing quickened, and a tight coil formed in my belly.
“W-what?” I stammered, my voice shaky.
My eyes were half-shut, overwhelmed by the electric vibes he was sending through me. My wolf was completely wild in my mind, rolling around and soaking up his scent. Suddenly, my teeth began to ache, an intense longing to claim him all over again. I was not used to this kind of dominance; all I wanted was a taste.
He stepped closer, our eyes locked onto each other. “Is that really you?” he asked quietly, confusion flickering in his gaze. His lips caught my attention, and I noticed a small hole that looked like it might have come from a piercing.
I nodded, barely able to catch my breath. “What happened to you?”
He moved even closer, towering over me, so close that I could feel the warmth radiating from his body.
“I could say the same to you…” he replied, his voice barely above a whisper, filled with a tension that made my entire body tremble. I noticed he was shaking slightly as he glanced at my mate mark, reaching a hand up to graze it with his fingers.
Taking a shaky breath, I inhaled deeply, shutting my eyes. The sensation of his skin against mine was pure bliss, sending a warm trail through me as those rough fingers moved up my neck, across my jaw, and brushed against my lips.
“So beautiful,” he said softly.
I could not help it. My feelings were a jumbled mess inside me, and I was struggling to clear my head and tune into my body.
Wow, it has been ages. I had only been with one guy—just that one time. Percival.
I just wanted to feel him around me.
I really wanted to feel him on my skin.
Before I could process my thoughts, his hands grabbed my waist, pulling me close. I gasped in shock as his fingers tangled in my hair, tilting my head back. His soft lips found mine in a passionate kiss.
He felt the chemistry, the pull, just as I did.
One of his hands moved from my waist to my hip, then my butt, giving it a squeeze as we collided like wild animals. I tore at his t-shirt, ripping the fabric to reveal those big, tattooed muscles that took my breath away.
With fierce energy, we were about to feast on each other, feeling a connection that had been distant for far too long.
There was no way our wolves would let us miss out on this moment.

I just had to feel him.
I really wanted to feel him against my skin.
In a flash, his strong hands reached out, grabbing my waist and pulling me close. I gasped in surprise as our bodies collided, sending a rush of heat through me.
His fingers tangled in my hair, pulling my head back as our lips met in a wild, chaotic kiss. Our tongues danced and intertwined, a delicious mess of desire.
He totally felt the vibe—the pull. I felt it too.
His free hand roamed my body, playfully squeezing as we lost ourselves in each other like wild creatures. I ripped his T-shirt by the collar, watching the fabric tear away to reveal those huge, tattooed muscles that took my breath away. My claws stretched out, dragging down his torso, and he hissed into my mouth from the mix of pain and excitement.
With a fierce energy, we were about to devour each other, connected yet feeling distant, as if time stood still.
There was no way our wolves would let us miss out on this moment.
He pulled me in tight while I clung to him, feeling the powerful vibes radiating from his chest. His eyes sparkled with the same intense desire that coursed through my veins. The connection buzzed between us like electricity, and honestly, I had never felt anything like it before.
Our mouths tasted each other, tongues tangling messily, deepening the connection.
His hands glided down my curves, gripping my ass tightly while my fingers explored the solid muscles of his chest. We made soft noises into each other's mouths, and I felt incredibly small—not as big as he always made me feel.
Suddenly, I was slammed into the wall behind me, the drywall cracking and crumbling under the force of his body against mine. I jumped right in, our mouths open in a breathless mix of pants and groans, hands desperately grabbing each other’s bodies.
It felt like a bomb had just exploded.
Panting into his mouth, he quickly stripped me of my clothes, tearing away everything I wore until I was left in just my panties. With one hand pressed between my breasts, he pushed me against the wall, leaning in close.
“Hey there,” he growled, his voice low and teasing, while his gaze held mine. His hands shaped my hips, firm and possessive, as I fumbled with his jeans, eager and frantic. Our lips crashed together in a passionate kiss.
He tossed aside his jeans, boots, and socks, his hips bumping into mine. I pushed back against the wall, tilting my head back, my eyes closing and mouth falling open wide. A warm sensation spread in my belly as he rushed to plant open-mouthed kisses along my jaw and neck, each touch igniting every nerve in my body.
We were not exactly in a rush.
We were totally losing it.
Two wild animals, reaching for each other, feeling skin against skin. My nails dragged down his chest, leaving red lines that oozed blood.
My fingers hooked into the waistband of his boxer briefs, yanking them off with surprising strength. The room was alive with the sounds of clothes being torn apart, a chaotic symphony of grumbles and lazy tongues tasting.
