Kristen's pov.

The filtering moonlight shone brightly through the window and I could hear the hooting owl filling the air. The gentle cold breeze swept through my face as I slowly opened my eyes.

“You are finally up” I heard Agatha's voice. “I healed your wound” she revealed as she sat on my bed.

“Where is Rose?” I asked faintly as I struggled to get up but I fell back to the bed.

“She is in her room” Agatha replied. “Alive” she scoffed.

“We were just talking and she started spitting blood… I don't know what to say?” I explained as tears threatened my eyes.

“What happened?” Agatha asked leaning closer. “What were you two talking about?”

I kept quiet as my eyes locked with her eyes like a magnet, if Agatha did a spell on Rose to prevent her from revealing the Alpha, I figured there was no need to put Rose in more trouble.

“I don't know” I replied as I got up, my hands went to my shoulder, and immediately my jaws dropped open, the wounds were no longer there.

“What did you do?” I screamed.

“You are welcome” she hissed as she got up, stretching out a bottle to me. “The scar would take a while to heal, just keep taking this” she explained.

“I don't need it”. I said swallowing hard, a sob rose in my throat as tears glistened in my eyes. “The scar is enough for me”.

She scoffed dropping the bottle on the table. “I am sorry” she bolted out.

My face flickered to a mixture of confusion and curiosity, Agatha was the last person I was expecting an apology from. “What are you planning on doing?” I frowned.

“I don't blame you for doubting my sincerity but the least you could do is show that you accept it” She paused as she took in a deep breath.  “After I lost my mother,  I saw things differently”. She added as tears rolled down her cheeks.

I could only feel pity for her, I lost my mother the day I was born, and the only person who brought me up was my father and that relationship only lasted for ten years, the time I spent with my father wasn't half the time she spent with her mum, but I felt the day each time I closed my eyes.

Memories of the day I lost my dad clouded my mind, I had forced my father to accompany me to my crush's birthday party, and even after my dad explained to me the dangers of going out at that time, I labeled him as the worst father, my father was forced to agree to my request if I had known I would be the only one coming home that day.

“Father” I remembered calling out to him as he lay lifelessly on the floor, blood pooling out of his neck, the killer was a young man. The young man stood in front of me as he raised his hand to slash my throat, and the door flung open revealing the rogue hunters, he took the back door and since then nobody had heard of him.

“The last moment I spent with my mother was…” she paused as she broke down. “I shouldn't have fought with her if I knew that was the last time I would see her”. She cried.

I stared blankly at the wall, as I was filled with sadness. I felt a great wench of sadness swept through me sucking my energy with it. I felt the same way, I wish I could tell my father how much I loved him.

“I can't even avenge her death” she added as she covered her face with her hands. “I can't do anything about it”.

I bit my lips as I crawled out of my bed, and sat beside her. “My father was killed by a rogue” I revealed. “I forced my father to accompany me to a birthday party, if I knew the boy I liked would have disgraced me or better still if I had known my father would not return with me…” I scoffed as I swiped my tears.

“My mother was killed by…” she paused as she flickered her gaze to another direction.

“Killed by who?” I asked, my face flickered to curiosity.  “You can tell me”. I reassured her.

“A black witch”. She revealed.

“A black witch?” My eyes widened in shock.  “Could it be the witch responsible for the killings of the fifty rogue hunters?”

She kept quiet.

“Why didn't you tell me about it?” I snapped. “Why didn't you say this to us? Why would you lie about it?”

“What could I have said?” She eyed. “It's not like I had proof to prove my mother's innocence, I just had to keep the situation to myself”.

“You shouldn't have” I nodded in disagreement. “The real killer is still out there”.

“Forget what happened to my mother” she forced a smile. “The wounds might be deep but if you take the potion constantly you would be happy you listened to me, the wounds would have disappeared including the scars”.

“I don't want the scars to go” I frowned. “It is a reminder that Dominic and I are done for good”. I explained.

“Is that what your heart is saying?” She scoffed.

“You can date him for all I care, I have no feelings for him now” I added.

Agatha stared at me, as she licked her lips, her facial expressions uncertain. This moment was the best time to get to her good side.

“Dominic and I shared something that one could call a forbidden relationship, we went against my pack…” I scoffed. “Who wouldn't, I dated someone who was almost ten years older than me”.

“So why did you stay?” She bolted out.

“I don't know,” I said letting out a sigh. “I guess I wanted to be at Noah's side… I wanted to be at my husband's side”.

“Do you think that Dominic doesn't love you?, Do you think that he doesn't have any feelings for you and gets irritated by seeing you?”

“That is not my problem” I snapped. “He called me a slut, what else do I need to know how he feels?”

“Dominic did love you” she revealed locking eyes with me. “That's what I heard”.

“I don't even know the Dominic that I met here… I don't even know Dominic”.

“I am really sorry about what Dominic did” she apologized, her tone laced with sincerity.

I stared silently at Agatha, as my mind clouded with unsettling thoughts, her face etched with sincerity but I knew she was hiding something behind that face.

“What are you talking about?” I scoffed. “It is not like you did it or asked him to, it was his choice”. I replied. “I just wished I had known sooner”.

“As I said, take the potion and the scar will completely vanish, it would just be your fresh skin”. She explained.

“I don't think I want to” I swallowed hard. “Some scars are better left alone, some teach you to be stronger, some teach you to know your worth, some teach you when you should be seen and not seen, some teach you everything”.

“And what does yours teach you?”

“All” I replied. “It teaches me everything, it makes me feel stronger, it makes me know my worth, it helps me know where I belong, who I belong with”. I added.

“You are a strong woman but I am sure Dominic has an explanation for what happened”.

“I don't need any explanation and besides…” I paused getting up. “I thought you would be happy if I told you I was breaking up with Dominic?” my face flickered to curiosity as I stared at her suspiciously.

“As much as I don't want to believe it… I think you and Dominic make a good match” she smiled.

“I thought so too, but look where it got me” I snapped as I held my eyelids up to stop the tears from falling out.

“I have known Dominic for a long time, Dominic has never done what he did today” she defended. “But I don't know why?”

“I don't want to know anything” I hissed as I grabbed the potion. “You have done so much, thanks for coming but you can tell Dominic that I refuse to be treated, he should just stick to the deal”.

“What are you talking about?” She frowned as she got up.

“Didn't Dominic send you?” My eyes widened in disbelief.

“No,” she shook her head. “He doesn't even know I am here” she revealed.

I felt a small painful pang grip my heart, I bit my lips in anger, the least Dominic could have done after almost killing me was to send a nurse to tend to my wounds.

I didn't understand the pain I felt, it was a feeling of hurt and betrayal. “So Dominic didn't send you…” I swallowed hard. “You sent medicine on your own accord?”

She nodded silently. “Do you think I poisoned it?”

“Not that” I defended. “It is just that I thought Dominic would have sent the medicine” I explained as I tightened my grip on the bottle.

“You could have died from the bite” she revealed.

“That is the thing I don't get” I muttered. “How can Dominic bite be so painful and deep, it shouldn't have made much difference to the other rogue Alphas”.

“It could be the effects from what the other black witch did… you know the one that killed the fifty rogue hunters” she revealed. “That could have been what made him attack in the first place” she added.

“Stop blaming it on a black witch that you can't even see” I snapped. “Dominic made a choice and so did I”.

“Do you want to know a secret?” She turned to me, her lips curled into a mischievous smile. “The black witch responsible for everything is someone I know and she will soon be here, her name… Darla”.
