Dominic's pov.

I sat down quietly as my mind clouded with unsettling thoughts, I couldn't believe I was rude to Kristen.

“What have I done” I frowned as I pulled my head in disbelief. “Damn you Dominic” I yelled slamming my fists on the table with all my Alpha strength, the table slit in half.

“That is a twenty thousand dollars table” Jake scoffed as he clutched his hands on his chest.

Jake had entered the office, a few minutes ago but I paid him no attention as my mind was filled with regrets.

“I screwed up”. I frowned as I picked the things from the floor. “You weren't there Jake”.

“I wasn't there but I know it was epic”. Jake laughed as he jerked up. “I just wished I was there”.

“I made her look like a slut who lost her virginity foolishly” I scoffed as my face contorted with remorse, and my eyes were desolated.

“Didn't she?” Jake scoffed walking to me.

“She didn't” I snapped.

“Well, if you ask me I think she did” he shrugged with a smirk. “She had sex with a stranger, she didn't even know anything about, who do you call someone who does that?”. He frowned.

I paused as I locked eyes with him. “So did I” I defended.

“Yours was different, trust me, I would have done worse” he laughed.

“I know I wanted to make sure that I end things with her for good but it seems like the more successful I become, the harder it becomes…” I paused as tears brimmed my eyes.

“Are you crying?” He asked, his face flickered to a mixture of disappointment and disagreement.

“I told her that…” I paused as tears choked my words in my throat. “I told her that the years we spent together weren't real”. I explained as I swallowed hard.

“I am sorry”. Jake bolted out.

I turned to him as my brows furrowed in curiosity, he had never consoled me. He noticed my reaction to his apology.

“I am serious” he defended. “I lost what it felt like to love after I watched her father kill my parents… honestly, I wonder how you do it?”

“Do what?” I frowned. “Suck in relationships”. I scoffed.

“No” he nodded his head in disagreement. “That’s why I hate her, how could you love the daughter of the man that killed your parents and that of your best friend” he revealed.

“I fell in love with her before I knew she was his daughter, remember what our plans were…” I paused as we shared understanding glances. “I wanted to end the lineage of the man that killed my parents, and after I found out she was the one I wanted to kill… I was broken, I wanted to finish what I came for but I couldn't”. I stared blankly at the wall, as fresh memories from the time I spent with her flooded my mind.

“You guys loved each other” Jake added as he sat beside me. “Do you wish, things could go back to normal?” he asked as he turned to me.

“There are a lot of things I wish for but none of them can become a reality” I scoffed.

“What do you wish for?”

“A life with Kristen” I bolted out. “With her and our kids”. I added.

“Have you never wondered what it would feel like if your parents hadn't died?”

“No” I shook my head. “It is not like I can bring them back”. My face fell as I was filled with gloom.

We sat silently as we stared at the wall, our faces etched with sadness, I glanced at Jake, his eyes were prickling with tears. I could only feel pity for him.

“Hey,” I called as I tapped his shoulder. “We are going to get through this,” I said with a reassuring smile.

“How far do you think we can go, now that Trixie is dead?” He said in a deterred voice. “What can Agatha do?” He scoffed.

“Agatha is the strongest witch of this time, Trixie was just keeping her in balance, the last thing we want is a war with the black witches, we need to find a way to convince her that we also want to find the perpetrator”. I revealed.

“Speaking of that?” He jerked up. “It is already dawn and she hasn't returned, Trixie wouldn't like it for her to be there after dawn”. He revealed as he bit his lips, his voice laced with concern.

“Why?” My brows furrowed in curiosity as I stared at him.

“Trixie said that place was not a good time after dawn, she said that was the time,  the creature around there moved around looking for prey”.

“What creatures?” I eyed as I got up.

“Beast, that lived in this territory, they moved to that place after we started building this place, Trixie didn't believe in making their kind extinct, so she left few of them to reproduce” he explained.

“Okay, I have never had of that” I revealed. “But why dawn, shouldn't it be in the night?” I scoffed.

“When you see one of the beasts you can ask it” he replied coldly as he turned to go.

“Get the point” I shrugged as I followed him. “Where are you going?”  I followed him.

“You made a mess, I am going to clean it up”. He snapped.

“Made a mess?”

“You told everyone that Kristen was your mate” he reminded. “I have to attend so many meetings with different elders concerning the attack and the sudden news of your lovely Luna”. He said with a pokey face.

“Fuck” I cussed as I stopped.

“What happened?” Jake stopped as he turned to me.

“I forgot to tell her about what happened in the meeting hall” I revealed as I slammed my hand on my forehead.

“Great” Jake scoffed as he threw his hands in frustration. “You just had one thing to do and that was to explain everything to your ex” he snapped.

“I am sorry” I shrugged. “Well go and meet her, before half of the elders get the explanation of your story”. He frowned as he nodded his head in disappointment. “I will be back,” he said as he walked away.

I followed the other direction headed to Kristen's room when I bumped into Rose.

“I am so sorry sire” she bowed, she was shaking in fear.

“Watch where you are going next time” I warned as she scrambled away. “What has gotten into her?” I muttered as I watched her disappear into the hallway.

I nodded my head as I shook off the curiosity I had, there was no need to bother about a mere human. I turned as I resumed my walk to her room.

I halted at her door as my face flickered to fear. I wasn't ready to face her after all I said to her, I was engulfed by remorse as a great pang gripped my heart. I knew I was a monster, not only did I hurt her feelings years ago but I also made her look like she was nothing but a whore and a fool for trusting me.

“What are you doing?” A voice asked as he approached me. It was Gath. “I have been looking for you” he revealed.

“Uhhh, I was just…” I stuttered as I glanced at the door.

“I don't care”. Gath interrupted. “Agatha is back”.

My face flickered to shock. “Where is she?” I demanded

“I don't know” he shook his head. “She left to her room angrily immediately I saw her”.

“Let's go,” I said as I turned to her room direction.

“I don't know what happened but I am sure that the anger that I saw in her face was not because things didn't go as planned, I am sure something big happened”. Gath added.

“I don't want to involve myself in the black witches' lives, the question is hope we are not going to be affected?”

“Are you sure you want to go and see her now?” He grabbed my hand. “I don't think that is a good idea”.

“I know what you mean but Agatha and I have things to discuss about… important things” I explained as I jerked his hand away.

“Kristen is talking to her as we speak” he bolted out,  I halted as I turned back to him.

“You left Kristen alone with Agatha?” I asked, my brows narrowed in disbelief. “Are you nuts?” I snapped.

“What could I do?” He defended. “Kristen insisted that she talk to her, she said she wanted to give her condolences in person, what could I have done?”

“Are they in Agatha's room?”

“I doubt” he shook his head. “But we should check first” he suggested as he led the way.

“We have to get to Kristen before it is too late, Agatha already resents her, she thinks it was all Kristen's fault”. I revealed.

Gath nodded in agreement.

We got to Agatha's room and we flung the door open. My face flickered to confusion as I met Kristen's hand on Agatha's neck.
