Kristen's pov.
I stared at Noah as I squeezed his hand, I was determined to do anything possible to make sure everyone responsible for his condition pays.
“If I have to play along with them, if I have to act like a fool to these rogues, I am willing to do that” I muttered as I jerked up from my seat, my face contorted with seriousness as I was filled with a determination to revenge.
I walked out the door and started walking to an unknown destination, I was going to find Gath, I was willing to risk anything, play along for Noah, for my pack and Rizzie.
“My lady”. I heard Rose's voice call.
My lips curled into a faint smirk, they had asked her to trail me. “Rose” I forced a smile as she stood in my front.
“What are you doing here my lady?” She gasped for air, she had run all the way here. “You kept me worried when everyone was looking for you” she revealed.
“Who is the everyone?” My brows furrowed in curiosity.
“Gath…” she paused. “Uhh… Lord Gath” she forced a brief smile. “Let's go” she suggested as she pulled me away.
We got to the garden more quickly than I expected, Gath and Jake stood far across, their faces turned to the back.
Gath and Jake were involved in a conversation that they did not realize my presence, suddenly Jake punched Gath in the stomach, and my mouth fell open in shock as I was only filled with curiosity.
“Alpha my foot” I scoffed as I nodded my head in disappointment.
“Hey that's gonna leave a scar” I heard Gath laugh as he stood up, his eyes locked on a flower as Jake kept pulling out the petals.
“You shouldn't be doing that?” Gath laughed as he tried pulling his hand. “That's a sign that you are lonely… when you need someone just come to me, I promise I will keep you company”. He laughed, his voice filled with mockery.
Jake paused as he turned to Gath. “First” he pointed. “I am not lonely, I prefer the simple life, look at Dominic, he has all the women in the world but can't be with the one he loves the most, poor him, I would have said he live been single than fucking a slut” he scoffed.
“I thought they shared a bond?” Gath asked.
“You must be joking” Jake scoffed. “It was just mere…” he paused. “Something like friends with benefits”.
“Poor girl thought she had him under her control”. Gath added.
I kept quiet as I clenched my fists, my anger welled up inside of me, I felt like a burning flame about to experience its first combustion. I couldn't believe they were making a mockery of me.
“See why I prefer the single life”, Jake said taking in deep breaths. “So stop saying weird things like a pervert and besides I am not gay and even if I was you are not my type”. He eyed.
“That's not true” Gath smirked. “Everyone knows I was quite appealing to both genders”. He said, his tone filled with a tinge of pride.
“And that was why….” Jake paused as he turned to me, his face flickering to a frown. “What are you doing here?” He glared.
“I was told the Alpha was calling me”. I revealed, returning the glare. “Do you have a problem with that?”. I eyed, my words filled with disdain.
“I certainly, do not” he scoffed as he turned back to Gath. “I was here the whole time with you, when did you call her?”
“I am your Alpha, not your little boy, I don't need to tell you everything I do”. Gath snapped.
I scoffed. “Do these people take me as a fool?” I thought with a frown. “When with this game last and when would I meet the Alpha”. I rolled my eyes and nodded my head in disappointment.
Gath turned to me. “But I don't remember asking of you” he defended.
“Well then” I forced a faint smile. “Lucky me then, I was just about to look for you”. I revealed.
“Kristen, I have already told you that whatever you want to say, you should see Dominic, I am quite busy”. He protested.
“You were not doing anything and it doesn't seem like you would be doing anything for a while” I replied, trying to keep the flaming anger in check.
“Who told you that?” He scoffed.
“It won't take much of your time” I pleaded with a faint bow. “I would like to see you in private”.
Jake scoffed. “You didn't have to ask politely, stop the pretense and get to the point”.
I kept still, as my fist clenched, my eyes raised above my head as I stared at him, locking eyes with him with a predatory piercing cold glare. I could feel the flaring anger rushing through my blood as we get glaring at each other, without losing contact.
“Hahaha” Gath started a burst of pretense laughter as he slapped Jake on his back, but Jake didn't flinch, his eyes locked on me like a predator surveying its prey.
“Hahahaha” Gath laughed loudly. “That's enough”. He said with a low tone as he turned to Jake, saying something in a low tone but that still didn't move Jake.
“I think you have overstayed your welcome here”. Jake bolted out.
“I wouldn't have stayed in the first place if you guys weren't t doing something dangerous and illegal” I replied coldly.
“Be careful, don't let it sting you where it hurts the most”. Jake said, his voice laced with disdain as he walked closer. “Good luck surviving in this pack” he eyed as he walked away.
“You wanted to see me?” Gath said immediately as I turned to him.
“I had no other choice” I defended. “We both know that the longer I stay here, the more dangerous and risky it gets”.
He nodded his head in agreement.
“I want to meet Noah's doctor, I need to know everything about his recovery” I explained, my face flickered to concern.
“He is in good hands” he replied with a reassuring smile. “You would see his doctors when the time is right”.
“Is there something I shouldn't know about his recovery” I frowned.
“We are not hiding anything” he defended. “You just can't see his doctors now” he insisted.
“Why?” My brows furrowed in curiosity.
“Nobody knows you here, an unconscious person can not talk, they are only tending to him without knowing why or who he is but if people find out that you are related to him, it won't be long before they start putting the pieces together”.
“You have to be kidding me?” I scoffed. “So you are saying that I cannot be withe father of my child?”
“Maybe” he shrugged. “Look, I have no choice, I can't keep endangering my pack, your friends already destroyed half of my pack, the least you could do is not cause another trouble”.
I nodded my head in disbelief, they were hiding something big from me but as much as I wanted to know, I couldn't press further.
“Okay, but I deserve to know the process of his treatments”
“That I can assure you” he smiled as he turned to go.
“Are you really the Alpha?”. I bolted out, immediately he halted turning back to me.
“Why do you ask?” He frowned. “Do you still have your doubt?”
“Not really” I shook my head. “I was just curious” I shrugged as I stepped forward.
“Well, I am the Alpha” he hissed.
“I know all the Alpha of the rogues, especially this one” I revealed. “I know this pack inside and outside, I am just curious because I heard the Alpha of this pack was ruthless”.
“Dominic told you, that Alpha died and I succeeded over him” he snapped.
“That's my point exactly” I smiled. “The most dangerous rogue died and no one heard of it, not even Richard or Noah…” I paused as I locked eyes with him. “Why is that?”
“Why do you think?” He frowned as he swallowed hard.
“It could only be…” I paused as I studied his reaction, his face had flickered to fear, which he was trying very hard to cover. “It is because your pack is now vulnerable, you still want people to think you are strong as before”.
“What?” His face was etched with mixed reaction as he raised one brow in irritation. “What are you talking about?”
“You don't need to lie” I smiled. I wanted them to believe I believed them about Gath being the Alpha, I had to look for another means to find out the truth of what was going on here.
“Well…” he shrugged as he bit his lips, reluctantly he nodded in agreement.
“If you can get Noah to his feet, I promise I will protect your pack” I reassured him.
His lips curled into a mischievous smile as he pulled my checks. “You are so cute” he chuckled. “But do you really think you can fool me?” He scoffed.
“What are you talking about?”
“Don't play that child game with me, I am the Alpha of this pack, I can be cute and dangerous and at the same time, you just need to decide which side you would prefer to see” he glared. “Seriously, what do you take me for? Did you honestly think that I was going to fall for whatever you were trying to achieve? Well sadly that didn't work, you should have thought it through, a powerless pack would not dare to stay in a no man's territory and build this and they most definitely won't be working with a black witch” he forced a smile.
“I was trying to find out if you were truly the Alpha, and now I can say you passed the test…” I paused as I noticed sudden movements in the bushes, suddenly a person popped out. “Agatha…” my face flickered to shock.
