Author's pov.

“What did you say?” Agatha's mouth fell open in shock.

“Yes Athena, what are you talking about?” One of the wizards added, the meeting hall filled with confused whispers.

“What are you talking about?” Nova jerked up, her brows furrowed in curiosity. “Are you trying to…” she paused as her mouth fell open, and her face immediately flickered to anger.

Athena's face stood still ignoring the questions thrown at her. Her gaze locked on Agatha.

“I am the strongest witch here, but I have never had initiation of someone who isn't even a witch, to begin with”. Agatha scoffed, her face contorted with disbelief.

“Then I guess you are just strong because you have harnessed more witches' powers than anyone here”. Athena replied coldly.

“Athena… what are you talking about?” Another senior witch asked. “If I can speak for all of us, nobody has heard about initiating a nonwitch”. She said as she glanced around, everyone nodded in agreement.

“It was a spell that was kept dead because of someone…” she paused as she turned to Nova.

“How dare you?” Nova shouted as she jerked up from her seat. “Aren't you ashamed of yourself?” She spat, anger flaring vigorously through her veins, fire evident in her eyes.

“Nova do you what she is talking about?” Ella asked as she glanced at Athena and her.

Nova ignored her as she ran to Athena. “Whatever you are planning, it would not work” she yelled.

“Please take her away” one of the elders shouted. “She is disturbing the peace of this meeting”.

“Take me away” she glared at the elder, her hair flowing in the air as her eyes turned bright blue. “Do you know what that spell is?” She gritted her teeth as she gasped for air.

“Do you know that spell?” Agatha stepped forward.

“Know it?” Nova scoffed. “I created it”. She revealed.

The meeting hall became silent as their faces flickered to shock.

“You made it?” Agatha frowned, he brows furrowed as her face contorted with a mixture of confusion and curiosity. “I don't understand”.

“It was an old spell book” Nova bolted out.

“Ohh goodness,” Ella said as she slowly stood up. “Is that old book…” she paused as she swallowed hard. “The …devil's journal?” She asked as her face flickered to fear.

The audience started getting up in fear as they whispered among themselves, some left the hall in a hurry their faces etched with extreme fear.

“Yes”. Nova nodded her head. Ella slumped to the seat.

“What?”. The elders shouted at once. They exchanged shock glances.

Agatha stood still as she watched their reaction, she bit her lips as her face contorted with curiosity and confusion.

“How long have you been practicing that spell book?” Ella stepped forward. “We might be black witches but we also have limits”. She glared.

“I found the book in the rogue hunter's library, the day, Nyx and I sneaked into their mansion” she revealed.

“How long ? was the question” An elder shouted.

“I didn't really practice all, I just learned a few pages and that was all”. She defended.

“Where is it?” They pressed on.

“That doesn't matter” Athena chipped in, and everyone turned to her direction.

“Do you know what book that is?” The elder snapped.

Agatha moved closer to a young girl, leaning in for a whisper. “What are they talking about?”. She whispered.

“They are talking about the book”. She replied.

“The devil's journal…” Agatha paused as she glanced back at Nova. “What is the book about?”

“It is the most dangerous book known to man…” she whispered as she gestured her to a corner. Agatha followed her.

“We do not talk about it so I prefer we talk in private” she explained.

“There is no problem” Agatha agreed.

“The devil's journal is a big spell book that contains all the darkest spells and magic that could wipe the entire world with one word”. She explained looking back, making sure no one was listening to them.

“Is it that powerful?” Agatha's brows furrowed in curiosity.

“Calling it just powerful, it is just underestimating the power its power, the devil's journal is pure evil”. She whispered.

“Explain evil”.

“Well…” the girl paused. “As you know witches and black witches are different, witches practice safe magic, while we practice magic that makes us powerful, but anyone who practices the devil's journal magic has been doomed”. She paused as she swallowed hard.

“Who wrote it?”

“That's the thing,” she said, her breath became heavy. “No one knows who wrote it, our ancestors just found it”.

“Seriously?” Agatha scoffed. “So you are telling me that no one wrote the book?”

“Someone did write it but whoever did have their own language, no one could read it, the few who read it began practicing it…” she leaned to whisper. “I heard that the real reason the black witches were able to start a fight with the three clans was because of those who practiced the devil's spells, but after the war, those who practiced it and who survived, were killing themselves, I heard they all said they were in alliance with the devil himself and he had come to take his price”.

Agatha felt a cold shiver running down her spine. “Okay that's creepy… but it is just a rumor” she forced a smile.

“It isn't” she shook her head. “How did you think the rogue hunters got their hands on it?” She paused. “I heard the people got so scared that they tried to burn it but those who set the fire, burnt to death and those who watched, their bodies were found with their eyes all plucked out”.

“Okay, but Nova is alright ?, She is…” she paused as she heard Nova's voice.

“He came every night and promised to give me the power I wanted but I was too scared to do it” Nova explained.

Agatha and the girl exchanged glances as they went back to the light.

“So do you have any idea where it is?”. Ella asked, her voice laced with fear.

“Sadly, I don't” Nova explained. “It was on my table that night, I just looked away for a moment and the book had gone, vanished into thin air”.

“Then we are going to look for it” Athena revealed.

“You just had that the book we are looking for isn't any average book, so what do you need it for?” Ella snapped.

“Please seat”. Athena gestured them to their seats before taking her seat. Nobody moved.

“We need to get rid of Kristen before time runs out” she explained. “Killing her would only endanger our coven but the devil's journal is the only thing that can help us…” she paused as she glanced at them, seeing that she had gotten their attention she continued. “If we make Kristen a black witch, it is like killing two birds with one stone, we get her under our clutch”. An elder cut her off.

“She could serve as an informant and also…” another elder cut her short.

“She could also serve as an inside killer, she would destroy the rogue hunters before they even know it”. Another added.

“Are you all crazy?” Nova shouted. “You can't do that” she warned as her eyes were prickling with tears.

“I have thought this through and it is the best solution we have” Athena defended. “Kristen is the only one who we can use to poison the two clans…” she paused as she walked to Nova. “When you want to kill a snake, if you attack it by the tail, it would vigorously strike back, hit it on its belly and it bites you but the head is a delicate place that requires caution and speed” she paused as she walked to Agatha.

“Kristen is from the largest and most powerful rogue hunter pack, Dominic is the Alpha of the most powerful rogue Alpha and has the strongest wolf pack in the world and Kristen stands in the middle, she is the most important member of the rogue hunter pack and Dominic first love, a perfect poison to both enemies” she stopped locking eyes with Agatha.

“I thought you were going ask Darla to harness his power, why kill him?” Agatha's brows furrowed in curiosity.

“Darla would harness his power and after she is done we destroy him without destroying him” She paused as her lips curled into a mischievous smirk. “If you get rid of him without having his authority, it would be no use, the other rogue packs would just attack”. Athena revealed.

“Instead of wasting our time looking for a vanished journal, can't we just compel Kristen?” Agatha frowned.

“That would have been good but compelling her would change nothing, they would find out and they would come after us but initiating her, nobody would suspect, because she would be in her right senses but she would be forced to bend to the will of the coven…” she turned to Nova. “Isn't that what you said?”

Nova ignored her as she stood up. “Only I can read it, I am not helping you” Nova scoffed. “The book would be useless even if you are lucky to find it”.

“I don't need you to read it, I wouldn't have said anything if I hadn't found a way to read it”. She paused, her eyes turned red. “I think you might have overstayed in this world, like you said you are the only one that can read it, we are twins but we never lived like sisters, harnessing your power is much easier for us than forcing you”. She smirked.

Agatha's mouth fell open as her face contorted with a mixture of disbelief and disappointment. “Are you openly threatening your sister?” She scoffed.

“I would do anything to get what I want” Athena screamed, the wall rumbled as the ground shook.

“Are you trying to start a war?” Ella frowned as her jaw dropped open.

“Yes,” she replied coldly. “A war that mankind has never seen, I refuse to be the queen of the coven, I won't stop until I have all the clans bending to my will, my ancestors failed but I won't, that I promise”

“I am a survival, I am not giving up” she screamed, as the ground shook, she turned to Nova. “I am sorry”. She smiled as she stretched her hand bringing a bright light out of her fingers.

“No” Agatha screamed.
