Chapter 309 Inviting You for Coffee is Giving You Face
The Powell family had several hundred guards, divided into thirteen squads based on their duties and areas of responsibility. Each squad had a captain and a deputy captain. Knox and Ollie's squad was just one of them, codenamed "Echo Team." Knox was Echo Team's captain, while Ollie was the deputy captain.
Echo Team had always been the most important squad because it was directly commanded by Gwyneth. They were mainly responsible for security in the hall where Gwyneth was located, and had the closest connection with her.
So all along, being Echo Team's deputy captain had been Ollie's pride, because it meant he could have contact with Gwyneth.
Every year, the captains and deputy captains of each squad were chosen through competitions.
Since it was a competition among guards, the method was simple and direct - whoever had the highest combat ability would win the position.
Ollie had qualified before because he had beaten everyone on Echo Team except Knox.
Ollie figured that since he could beat these people before, in the next competition, he could still beat them and take back what belonged to him!
He was completely confident about this!
When Ollie announced he would participate in the next competition, the Echo Team guards all started talking.
Some were worried, some were eager to try, and others clenched their fists, ready to fight for it with everything they had.

Meanwhile, Gwyneth led Isabella out of the castle.
This trip was to go to The Royal Throne Room.
The Royal Throne Room was where the current king handled official business.
Because Gwyneth and Efrain had a close relationship, she needed to inform Efrain about going to Regal City.
Soon, the car stopped in front of a magnificently designed building.
At the entrance stood a line of soldiers, holding guns, looking stern and solemn.
"This is The Royal Throne Room."
Gwyneth led Isabella straight in. The soldiers at the entrance were clearly very familiar with her and let them through without even asking questions.
Walking in, Isabella saw Efrain.
He sat at a long table with files piled up like a small mountain in front of him.
In the entire room, he was the only person there.
Isabella had read about Northern Ice Empire's politics before and learned that Efrain had been in office for twenty-seven years. Now seeing him, he was indeed close to fifty years old.
However, for some reason, Efrain's complexion didn't look very good.
Hearing the sound, Efrain looked up and saw it was Gwyneth. He quickly stood up to greet her, "Ms. Powell, what brings you here?"
Gwyneth smiled and said, "I'm bringing my new student to meet you."
Hearing Gwyneth say this, Efrain immediately turned his gaze to Isabella.
He was somewhat shocked that Gwyneth had suddenly taken on a student and couldn't process it for a while. Then, he said with some emotion, "Actually, Lyndon has been hinting to me before, wanting to ask if you had any intention of taking on a student. I could tell Lyndon wanted to become your student. He's always respected and admired you, but I never expected you'd already taken on a student so quietly."
"Looks like Lyndon has missed his chance."
The "Lyndon" Efrain mentioned was Efrain's eldest son.
As everyone knew, Efrain actually had two sons.
His eldest son Lyndon, and his second son Emory Hubbard.
Efrain had been king for twenty-seven years now and was about to step down. Whether the next king would be Lyndon or Emory had been widely debated.
Since Efrain brought up Lyndon, Gwyneth got straight to the point, "Efrain, I actually know you've always favored your eldest son Lyndon."
"But I've still decided to give the position of next king to Emory."
As soon as these words came out, Efrain's expression changed slightly.
He looked at Gwyneth somewhat confused, "Why? For the king's position, I think Lyndon is more suitable!"
Gwyneth cleared her throat and glanced at Isabella. Isabella understood that what came next wasn't for her to hear, so she tactfully said, "Master, I'll step outside."
Gwyneth nodded, watching Isabella's figure disappear at the door before sitting down to talk with Efrain in detail.
——
"Who is she?"
Outside The Royal Throne Room was a garden. In the garden, a young man sat at a table, watching Isabella standing at the door from afar, narrowing his eyes.
There was also a middle-aged man beside the young man.
The middle-aged man glanced over and then looked away, "Not sure, I just saw she came with Gwyneth."
"Came with Gwyneth?" The young man smiled, a look of interest appearing at the corner of his mouth, "Have her come sit with me."
The middle-aged man nodded and immediately walked toward Isabella.
"You came with Gwyneth, right?" Coming before Isabella, the middle-aged man spoke, "Let me introduce myself, I'm Marlon Rojas, Mr. Lyndon Hubbard's martial arts teacher."
He pointed to the pavilion in the distance and said, "Mr. Lyndon Hubbard says to have you come sit over there, he has something to ask you."
Isabella looked toward the pavilion and indeed saw a young man sitting there, looking in this direction.
It seemed that young man was Efrain's eldest son Lyndon.
Isabella instinctively didn't want to deal with this Lyndon, because Gwyneth had already told her in the car that Efrain had two sons, and she planned to support the second son Emory as the next king.
As for why she wouldn't support Lyndon, Gwyneth had also explained - Lyndon was wildly ambitious, ruthless, and a person driven by greed. Such a person absolutely couldn't sit on the throne, or there would be endless trouble.
Since Gwyneth had already said what kind of person Lyndon was, Isabella felt even more that she had no need to interact with him.
"I'm not going," Isabella directly refused.
Marlon was stunned.
He clearly hadn't expected Isabella to refuse.
Seeing Isabella's aloof expression, Marlon's eyes darkened and he sneered, "Mr. Lyndon Hubbard inviting you for coffee is giving you face, and you dare to refuse?"
Hearing this, Isabella frowned slightly, "So what if I refuse him? Can't I not want this coffee?"
Marlon choked, his expression becoming even uglier.
"Don't think you're so great just because you have some connection with Ms. Powell, that you can refuse Mr. Lyndon Hubbard's invitation. Do you know that Mr. Lyndon Hubbard is the eldest son of the current king?"
He said condescendingly, "Don't be so full of yourself!"
As Lyndon's martial arts teacher, Marlon was respected wherever he went.
This was the first time he'd seen someone speak to him with such an arrogant attitude. He really couldn't stand it!
"I'll give you one last piece of advice!" Marlon stared coldly at Isabella, pressing aggressively, "You'd better go greet Mr. Lyndon Hubbard obediently and not keep him waiting!"
Isabella gave him a disdainful glance, not wanting to bother with him at all, and turned to leave.
Marlon's expression completely darkened. He directly reached out to grab Isabella's arm.
