Chapter 39 Jealousy

Chapter 39 Jealousy
Without saying a word, Luna Rosie walked first, heading for the staircase. They climbed the stairs in deafening silence.
Mira can feel the fangs of anger leaping out of Luna Rosie’s body. Did she eavesdrop on the door? What did she hear?
OMG!
Mira’s heart was beating rapidly in her rib cage.
Did Luna Rosie hear everything? Did she know what she and Alpha Gideon were doing inside the room?
Ugh, she knew it was not morally right to indulge in Alpha Gideon’s carnal desires, but what could she do? She is a wife whose duty is to satisfy her husband and make him sexually happy. She can’t say no to his requests and demands. What they were doing inside the room was part of every couple’s life. And besides she enjoyed pleasing him. But now she was feeling guilty.
While she was stroking Alpha Gideon’s erect cock she was imagining having sex with him. She was enjoying the sensual experience. While she was doing it, she didn't feel guilty at all. She felt excited and empowered, happy and satisfied that she could make him happy just by using her hand.
But now that deed was over and she was outside the room, walking behind Luna Rosie in the hallways heading to their room. She felt immense guilt because the person standing in front of her was the real wife and she was just an imposter acting like she was the real wife.
The madness brought about by the soul swap was pretty jarring!
Damn, this sick feeling of being happy and then feeling guilty afterwards is stressing her out. She is willing to be locked up in that room with Alpha Gideon, pleasuring him every day as long as she never has to leave the room ever again.
But in reality that won’t work, but in fantasy it will definitely work.
They reached the room and Mira heard the door being locked by Luna Rosie. That’s a sign.
She couldn't bear the silence between them anymore, so she decided to ask, “Why are you so quiet?”
“Why did I hear laughter echoing in the room? You are talking to my husband and the topic of your conversation must be funny. May I know what the joke is all about?” Luna Rosie asked, acting so calm and composed yet deep inside she was fuming in anger.
Mira cleared the lump in her throat. "Um...you are right, it was a funny joke indeed. He told me that…that…”
Luna Rosie observed Mira’s face closely, looking for any signs of lies. “What? Continue…tell me what the joke is all about?” She pressed on.
Mira groaned in dismay. Her mind suddenly went blank, refusing to function anymore. Dammit, why can’t she think of anything to say now? She needed an alibi fast! She scrambled for words to form in her panicked mind. “Um…he told me that when he and his brothers were young, they would ride horses on the family's farm and the horses would take a dump, spraying stinky waste on their faces. His brothers would cry and their maids would rush to their sides to clean them. I laughed so hard at your husband’s story. I find it so funny, imagine their faces being sprayed with this yucky sticky poo,” she said, laughing in amusement to make her fake alibi sound real.
Luna Rosie’s eyes gleamed. His husband also told her the same funny story about him and his brother's naughty escapades on the family farm and they both laughed out about it. He narrated the same to Mira because he had no idea the one he was talking to was not her. “H-he told you that?”
“Yeah, he did, that’s why I couldn't control myself and laughed hard. We laughed together. That’s the reason for the laughter you heard outside the door. Why? Am I not allowed to laugh at your husband’s joke?” Mira asked, acting innocently.
Luna Rosie shrugged. His husband was just trying to have a lively conversation with his wife. Nothing wrong with it. No need to be jealous of him and Mira sharing a laugh. Their closeness will end soon after six days. She has just to bear the pain for a few more days.
She looked Mira in the eyes and asked, “Is my husband sweet talking to you?”
Mira’s forehead was creased. “Huh? What do you mean?” she asked confused.
“My husband is a romantic guy. He thought you were his wife and he might ask for kisses and hugs from you as a form of affection. Did he ask you to kiss him and hug him?” Luna Rosie asked her directly.
Dang! Mira quickly masked her expression, showing not an inch of emotion. The lioness was observing her face closely, looking for signs that she was about to tell a lie. “Not so far. If he did, I would find a way to avoid it,” she responded, lying with a straight face, meeting Luna Rosie’s gaze without flinching.
“Mira I warn you, don’t ever kiss or hug my husband. Don't get too close to him. Don’t nurture any romantic feelings in your heart towards him. You will only get hurt after he learns about the soul swap. He will never look at you the same way after the truth is revealed. I’m just concerned that you will get your heart broken if you develop romantic feelings for my husband. So don’t let my husband's sweetness fool you. He will never fall for you if he knows you are Mira the maid. Do you understand?" Luna Rosie warned her firmly.
Mira nodded her head. “I understand. Thank you for your concern. I will remember your advice,” she said, sighing inwardly.
The expression on Luna Rosie’s face darkened. “No. You got it wrong. Don’t just remember, follow my advice because it’s good for you. You can’t develop feelings for a married man. Stay away from temptation! Do you understand?"
“Yes, I understand,” Mira replied solemnly. The lioness is right. Falling in love with a married man is wrong. But pleasuring Alpha Gideon feels so right. Her body is burning feverishly every time she strokes his cock and it’s all she can think about in her corrupted mind. Pleasuring him is so addictive.
“Let’s go to bed now. I want to sleep early,” Luna Rosie said.
“OK.” Mira went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and did some body washing before going to bed.
When she emerged from the bathroom door, Luna Rosie was standing beside the window, gazing at the stars above, wearing a troubled expression on her face. She went to the bathroom afterwards.
Mira donned her pajamas, brushed her hair and then lay down on the bed preparing to sleep. She was facing the wall, thinking about Alpha Gideon and the sexually charged bond that developed between them.
She smiled, loving the way his eyes was glowing with lust and passion every time he looked at her. Sigh. He really loves his wife Luna Rosie deeply. They belong in each other's arms. And she is the third party who holds the power to destroy their marriage.
Although she was enjoying their steamy bonding moment, she knew it would end in heartbreak soon.
She heard Luna Rosie climb onto the bed and lay down beside her. She dared not look at her, afraid she would discover her naughty secret.
“Mira, are you still awake?” Luna Rosie asked.
Mira was hesitating to answer. She was still awake but she didn't want to have a conversation with the grumpy lioness. “Yes, but I'm already sleepy,” she said, faking a yawn.
Luna Rosie felt that Mira was avoiding her. “Did my husband ask you to kiss him? He will be wondering why you act cold towards him if you deny his request. Tell me the truth, Mira!” she ordered.
Mira breathed deeply, refusing to reveal that she and Alpha Gideon had done more than kiss and hug.
Her silence irked Luna Rosie further. Not saying anything proves that something out of the ordinary happened inside the room while she was waiting outside, swimming in jealousy and misery. Tonight she is determined to uncover what Mira is hiding from her. Since the impostor is trying her best to ignore her she might as well inflict some harm on her to get her attention. She grabbed a handful of her hair and yanked hard, saying, “Mira, answer me!”
“What’s the problem with you?” Mira yelled, wincing in pain, facing her tormentor.
“I asked you a simple question. Did he order you to kiss and hug him? Why can’t you answer me?" Luna Rosie growled, eyes blazing with fury.
“Yes! He told me to kiss him!” Mira finally answered, rubbing the ugly truth on her arrogant face. “And what are you going to do with me? Are you going to bully and hurt me to death because your husband asked for a damn kiss from his wife?” she asked in defiance, eyes flashing with resentment.
Luna Rosie closed her eyes for a few seconds, trying to regain control of her raging temper. She knows this is not the best time to argue because it’s already bedtime. But she felt an intense surge of anger squeezing her heart painfully after learning the truth that Mira had actually kissed her husband. It's a betrayal of her!
Mira met her gaze bravely.
“You shouldn't have kissed my husband!” Luna Rosie spat indignantly.
Mira sighed in annoyance. “He ordered me. What should I do? Defy his orders? It’s just a simple kiss on the cheek. Why are you mad at me? It was your mouth that kissed him, not my mouth. Are you still going to make a big deal of it? Are you going to hurt and kill me and your unborn child out of jealousy? Remember that after the truth is revealed, you will send me away to the bungalow house to live there so that I will not have any contact with your husband anymore. Focus on your plans. Don't let anger and jealousy destroy your plans! I’m going to sleep. Goodnight, don’t disturb me anymore!” she said and hid beneath the blanket.
Luna Rosie was fuming in anger.
But after a few minutes of contemplation, her anger finally subsided. Mira is right. She should focus on her plans and not let jealousy and anger get the better of her. It was just a simple kiss anyway; no real harm was done. She only needs to survive a few more days before she can get her husband back. She will hold on to that day. “Fine, goodnight!” she retorted and closed her eyes to sleep.
The women’s hearts were burning with anger and negativity and it took nearly half an hour before their emotions cooled down. They closed their eyes and went to sleep with a sense of unease brewing in their hearts and minds.
