Chapter 40 Confession
The following day, the two women woke up late at 8:00 in the morning, glaring resentfully at each other. Their bad day had just begun.
“Don’t talk to me the whole day today! I’m upset and angry that you kissed my husband. You have betrayed me!” Luna Rosie yelled indignantly at Mira.
Mira’s face darkened instantly. “You started this! It’s just a kiss. How could you be so childish? A kiss doesn't mean anything. You told me that your husband would never fall for me, so why can’t you convince yourself that it’s true? Or are you just trying to discourage me so I don't seduce your husband? Are you afraid he will abandon you despite knowing the truth?”
Luna Rosie’s face was livid with anger. She doesn't like the way Mira talks to her as if she is planning to steal her husband right under her nose.
“You are throwing your insecurities at me and we both know it. You are scared that after revealing the truth your husband will still choose me over you. That is why you are trying your best to intimidate and bully me. Am I right?” Mira stated coldly. The lioness is getting aggressive. She can no longer stay silent. She needs to fight back with all she has got.
Luna Rosie smirked. “You are getting braver, Mira. Don’t gloat about your victory yet. This war is not over yet. I believe in my husband, he will definitely turn his back on you!”
Mira smiled. “Alright since we can’t resolve our differences no matter how hard we try, then let’s go to your husband's room now and reveal the truth to him. Let's do it now! I’m so fucking tired of staying in the same room as you. Your attitude is unbearable! I chose peace but you always choose chaos! I’m so done with you and your bullying!” She walked to the door, threatening to leave the room.
“Where are you going?” Luna Rosie asked anxiously.
“I'm going to your husband's room. I will confess the truth to him. Follow me! Let’s finish this today!” Mira said boldly.
“Wait!” Luna Rosie said. “We can’t do it now. The timing is not right.”
Mira faced the annoying bitch. She lifted an eyebrow. “What is it about this time?”
“It’s breakfast time. We can’t just enter the room while the Luna Queen Mother is busy feeding her son. It is a sign of disrespect. We couldn't do it this morning. If we have to do it today, tonight is the best time to do it,” Luna Rosie argued. “I don't want to reveal the truth when other royal family members are present in the room, it will make the whole situation difficult. I need to talk to my husband alone before he will reveal our situation to his family,” she explained in a calm tone.
Mira noticed the serene expression on Luna Rosie’s face. Is she calming down? Good! Because she was just bluffing. She has no intention of revealing the truth to Alpha Gideon now or even tonight.
She will do anything to prolong their special moment. She still has a few more days left to enjoy his glorious presence, and she will try to extend their time as long as she can. Once he knew the truth he would avoid her like a plague. The depressing thought was deeply upsetting to her.
“Stay here, I will get our breakfast in the kitchen,” Luna Rosie said.
Mira smirked and watched the lioness exit the room in a hurry.
Now the question is, what will she do if Luna Rosie insists that they reveal the truth to Alpha Gideon tonight?
Dang! She was really hesitating to do it tonight because she was already falling madly in love with Alpha Gideon.
She must find a way to stop the reveal tonight!
What can she do?
She starts pacing back and forth in the middle of the room, racking her brain for a perfect alibi to why she can’t tell the truth to Alpha Gideon tonight.
After a few minutes of sorting through her jumbled emotions, she smiled because she had finally found the perfect alibi. She already knows what to do, so Luna Rosie won’t take it against her. That bitch is so annoying, behaving erratically most of the time.
Although she wanted to retaliate against her bully, she also knew what she did with Alpha Gideon was morally wrong. Despite the soul swap, she should not take advantage of the situation and destroy the couple's beautiful love story because of her own selfish love.
What she had with him was borrowed time, indulging in her fantasy and loving Alpha Gideon in her own way. But the truth is, she can’t continue to deceive him. He needs to know the truth. What happens after the revelation? She leaves it all to God and her destiny.
Her plans are still in place. After giving birth to her child, she will leave the mansion and live her own life on her own terms, with or without Luna Rosie's financial help. The only reason she remains in the mansion working as a maid is because she has very low self-esteem because of her ugly appearance.
The ugly scars on her face prevent her from living her life to the fullest because she knows that other people love to ridicule ugly individuals like her. But now that she has a beautiful face and looks every inch a classy lady she can explore the outside world with confidence.
A few minutes later…
Luna Rosie returned to the room holding a tray filled with delicious breakfast. She placed the tray on the table. “I told them that you woke up this morning not feeling well, so I need to bring your breakfast upstairs and feed you,” she explained.
Mira said, “Who asked?”
“The Luna Queen Mother asked about you, so I told her a lie. She had just finished feeding my husband his meal in his room when we met in the living room on the way to the staircase,” Luna Rosie explained.
“I see…” Mira mumbled.
“Let’s eat,” Luna Rosie said calmly, no hint of anger in her voice. No need to get mad at Mira anymore because tonight they will reveal the truth together. She just needs to endure a few more hours of emotional and psychological torture, then after that, all her pain and worry will fade away once she is back in her husband’s arms again. He will make everything right for her.
The women ate their meals in silence, their minds preoccupied with what was happening tonight.
After breakfast Luna Rosie brought the dirty dishes to the kitchen and back to her room again.
The women didn't leave the room the whole morning, they got busy with their own affairs. Luna Rosie reads a book to pass her idle time while Mira watches a random show on TV.
They were minding their own business when there was a knock on the door.
Luna Rosie scrambled to her feet, dropping the book on the sofa and quickly putting the veil on her face. She bolted to the door and opened it. Standing outside the door was another maid holding a laundry basket.
“I’ll get it,” Luna Rosie quickly said.
The maid handed over the basket to her. Luna Rosie emptied the contents into the sofa and handed the basket back to the maid.
After the maid left, Luna Rosie dumped the fresh laundry clothes on Mira’s lap. “Fold the clothes and arrange them in the closet. It’s your job anyway,” she said coldly and sat back on the sofa to continue reading the book.
Mira folded the clothes without uttering a single word of protest. She glanced at the lioness, so focused on her reading. Tonight she will defy Luna Rosie by not confessing to Alpha Gideon. She wants to give the bitch a taste of her own medicine one last time. She wants to disappoint her.
Her plan is already in place. What could go wrong?
Nothing!
She continues to watch the survival reality show, heavily invested in it, wanting to know whose team will win in the end.
Times fly fast.
Lunch time has come.
Mira went downstairs and had lunch with the royal family in the dining room. They tried to include her in their conversation. She smiles and nods her head politely. She never expected in her wildest dreams that she would have the chance to dine at the same table as the royals. Indeed the soul swap gave her all the good things in life. Too bad it will be over soon.
After lunch, Mira went to the garden. Luna Rosie followed her there after she failed to return to the bedroom in time. The women spent a few hours in the garden, ignoring each other.
Luna Rosie expects that her problem will end tonight so there's no need to pretend she likes Mira’s company because she never will.
The afternoon passed like a blur.
The evening finally came.
The time Luna Rosie has been waiting for. “Let’s go downstairs and bring dinner for my husband," she said excitedly.
“OK.” Mira nodded her head, thinking about her plan.
The women headed downstairs to the kitchen. After securing Alpha Gideon’s food, they proceeded to the recuperating room.
They entered the room. As usual Luna Rosie placed the tray on the table.
To Mira’s surprise, Luna Rosie advances to the bed and announces boldly, “My love, Mira and I have a confession to make…”
Mira froze, her eyes widening in horror while staring at Luna Rosie's back in shock. She was furious. Shiit! Why can’t she wait? It's not the right time yet!
Deeply surprised why the maid called him my love, Alpha Gideon raised a brow. He looked at the veiled faced maid and asked, “What confession are you talking about?”
