Chapter 29 Thank You!
Mira was trembling in anger and fear after locking the bathroom door. Luna Rosie was treating her cruelly. Her favorite pastime now is pulling her hair, her way of punishing her for the soul switch she didn't ask for.
She admits she had a huge crush on Alpha Gideon, but she never prayed for the soul switch to happen so she could take over Luna Rosie’s body. Now she is being unfairly punished for it.
Tears shimmered in her eyes. She sat on the toilet bowl cover. This time she let tears fall from her eyes hoping the sadness and pain she felt inside would be washed away by her tears and she would feel better afterwards.
She hopes her situation will get better after she is sent away to live in that bungalow house far away from Luna Rosie, her tormentor. She will have to endure a few more days of torture and try harder to avoid angering the evil bitch.
After crying for a few minutes, emptying her heart and soul she didn't feel better at all. Her only consolation is that she will be able to see her crush again tonight. Seeing Alpha Gideon again will be worth all the trouble she suffered in the past at Luna Rosie's hands.
She smiled, feeling better after imagining his handsome face lingering in her mind.
After splashing water on her face, she finally got the courage to leave the bathroom. When she opened the door, she was relieved because Luna Rosie was not in the room. Where is the bitch?
She went to the window and looked in the garden, she’s not there. Ah, why should she worry about where that mean woman went? She preferred to be alone in the room.
But she wasn’t able to enjoy her peace for a long time because her tormentor had returned to the room.
Mira looked at Luna Rosie on high alert.
Luna Rosie saw fear flashing in Mira’s eyes. She smirked, enjoying the servant’s discomfort. “Are you afraid I would hurt you again? Don’t worry, I won't hurt you anymore as long as you obey all my orders.”
Mira breathed deeply. “I’m going to the garden to breathe fresh air,” she said calmly and walked to the door.
“I will come with you,” Luna Rosie said.
Mira didn't bother replying. She actually hoped Luna Rosie would not follow her and leave her alone. She was fucking tired of the bitch’s wickedness, always treating her like a punching bag.
The women left the mansion and proceeded to the garden. They settled comfortably on the sofa in the gazebo.
“I’m going to raid the kitchen. What snacks and drinks do you want?” Luna Rosie asked.
Mira replied, “No need to ask me. You can get any food you like.”
Luna Rosie gave her a fake smile. “I’ll return in a few minutes, Luna.”
Mira watched Luna Rosie leave the garden heading for the kitchen.
Out of the corner of her eyes she saw something moving beneath the leaves of the peace lily plants. What is it?
Curiosity prompted her to investigate. She was about to leave the sofa and check it out but suddenly the baby in her stomach kicked her tummy hard. “Ouch, baby, don’t kick mommy’s tummy,” she said in amusement, caressing her baby bump lovingly. Although her unborn child is not biologically hers, she must take good care of it because it’s Alpha Gideon’s child.
When she looked at the plants again, the green leaves were no longer moving. Ah, maybe it was the rodents playing hide and seek beneath the thick leaves.
A few minutes later, Luna Rosie returned to the gazebo, carrying a tray filled with tasty snacks. She placed the tray on the table. “Have some snacks, your highness. I’ll be back with a pitcher of orange juice,” she said and went back to the kitchen.
Mira picked up one chocolate chip muffin and took a bite. “Nice, so delicious and sweet,” she said appreciatively.
By the time Luna Rosie returned to the gazebo with the orange drink she had already eaten three muffins.
Luna Rosie poured refreshing orange juice into Mira’s glass. “Here’s your drink, Luna. Let me serve you while I’m still your servant,” she said with a dry smile curled up on her lips. “Ah by the way, just so you know I’m so ready to kick you to the gutter after my husband arrives home tonight, your highness," she added in a mocking tone.
Mira almost choked on her drink and glared at Luna Rosie’s smug face. “Shut up, servant. If somebody hears you now, they will report you to the Luna Queen for bullying me. I swear before the day is over you will find yourself in a rat-infested dungeon if you keep insulting me!” She warned sternly.
Annoyed, Luna Rosie growled, gritting her teeth in anger. "Fight back, eh? How about if I pull your hair again since no one is around to help you?” she suggested, eyes flashing with venom.
“Try pulling my hair again and I will scream for help at the top of my lungs. I will not tolerate your bullying this time!” Mira said boldly. “You have to remember that I always have the upper hand. I can turn the table against you and play dirty behind your back and you will be kicked out of this mansion faster than you can blink your eyes. No one will defend you. So stop bullying me if you don’t want to end up in the dungeon!” she shouted, her eyes blazing with fury.
Luna Rosie was taken aback by Mira’s sudden outburst of bravery. This meek servant used to fear her, but now she is fighting back. What does it mean? She started to worry because Mira’s fearless attitude would surely give her problems later on. Her plans are in jeopardy. “Why are you acting this way? Are you not going to cooperate with me anymore in disclosing the soul switch to my husband?” she asked calculatingly. She must be one step ahead of Mira.
Mira sighed heavily. “Don’t worry. I will still cooperate with you. I will confess to your husband that I’m not the real Luna Rosie. I just want you to stop hurting me because if you keep doing that I might be tempted to act against you and we both know they will prefer to listen to me more than you. So please, don’t push me to my limits. Or else…you will regret your actions. Do you understand?”
Damn, Luna Rosie was shocked and shaken by Mira’s newfound bravery. It’s the first time Mira has acted like true royalty. The meek and fearful maid was gone and replaced by a brave girl. If Mira continues to act this way it will be hard to bully her anymore.
Now she was deeply worried about how things would end up after her husband came home tonight. What if Mira suddenly changed her mind and no longer wanted to cooperate with her to reveal their true situation?
What is she going to do to make sure her husband listens to her and believes her claim without Mira’s cooperation?
Suddenly she felt powerless and helpless. Without Mira’s confession she was like creating a drama out of thin air. Her words didn't have any substance at all. Her head began to throb painfully. She just realized that tormenting and bullying Mira had already backfired on her. If Mira wanted to retaliate, she could do so tonight and use her husband against her.
Mira can easily create lies that will result in her getting kicked out of the mansion and she will never see her husband ever again. Losing him to a mere maid in this lifetime is a deep blow to her ego.
No, it shouldn't be!
She sat on the chair, she pressed her lips together in deep thoughts.
Mira saw the sudden change in Luna Rosie’s demeanor. Wow, it’s working!
The grumpy bitch was now replaced by a dispirited and anxious woman. She successfully turned the tables on Luna Rosie. The anxious expression on the bitch’s face was satisfying to watch. Her hopelessness made her feel powerful.
Mira smiled triumphantly.
She shifted her attention to the flowers around the garden, wearing a pleasant expression on her face while munching on the cookies.
A few minutes later, after she finished snacking, she looked at Luna Rosie and said, “Take the tray to the kitchen, I’m done eating,” she ordered.
“Yes Luna,” Luna Rosie replied obediently. After arranging the plates and glasses on the tray, she left the gazebo and brought the dirty dishes to the kitchen.
Back in the garden, Mira felt sleepy. She rose from the sofa and left the gazebo, heading back to the mansion to rest in her bedroom.
When Mira arrived in her room she lay down on the bed, ready to sleep.
A few minutes later, Luna Rosie returned to the room, sat on the chair and maintained silence, busy with her own thoughts. She was so eerily silent that Mira noticed her odd behaviour.
Mira smirked. The bitch has finally shut her mouth, after teaching her a lesson that she cannot be bullied anymore because she will fight back!
She finally closed her eyes to sleep.
Time went by.
Luna Rosie watched Mira fall into a deep sleep. She was wondering what the maid was planning in her mind before she fell asleep. Instead of endless guessing, she would ask Mira later after she woke up. She needed to know what Mira’s decision was so she could think of a counterattack in advance.
Two hours later, Mira finally woke up.
Luna Rosie asked her directly. “I want to know if you still want to confess the truth about our situation to my husband?”
Mira nodded her head. “Yes of course. I will confess to him that I am Mira the servant and you are the real Luna Rosie. Our souls have switched. Don’t worry, I will do the right thing,” she assured her.
“Thank you,” Luna Rosie said. Huge relief washed over her. All she needs to do is avoid bullying Mira until her problem is solved.
After their conversation, the two women ignored each other.
Hours went by.
The evening has finally come. After dinner, the royal family are getting ready for Alpha Gideon’s arrival at the mansion. He and his entourage were still traveling on the road. They will arrive in two hours.
On the second floor of the mansion, Mira can be seen lying on her bed, relaxing, looking calm and composed.
On the other hand, Luna Rosie was dealing with her jittery nerve, pacing back and forth in the middle of the room. She felt tightening pressure in her chest while waiting for her husband to arrive.
Time passed quickly.
Two hours later, a maid knocked on the door and announced, “Luna Rosie, Alpha Gideon has finally arrived!”
