Chapter 107
Evelyn was in his arms, her eyes sparkling.
Benjamin couldn't help but lean down and kiss her lips.
Between men and women, kissing naturally leads to some touching, and it's easy to lose control.
But he restrained himself, because he knew that once the intimacy crossed certain boundaries, she couldn't handle it.
Today, though, Evelyn was being so sweet and compliant, and the atmosphere was really good, so his hands started to wander.
His mind flashed back to that glimpse from before—her breasts weren't large, but they had a particularly nice shape, and they would probably feel really good too...
The doorbell interrupted the intimate atmosphere.
He didn't let her go. Instead, he held her tighter, clearly not planning to leave.
But as his hand moved up along her waistline, Evelyn's breathing became completely erratic.
"Someone's... at the door..."
She said breathlessly, her hands pushing against the head buried in her neck. Her mind felt dizzy, with a subtle tension.
Those disturbing images surfaced in her mind again.
If this continued, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to handle it and would make him think she was disgusted by him.
The knocking outside continued, but Benjamin showed no intention of paying attention to it. He mumbled vaguely.
"If no one opens the door, they'll leave on their own."
But the person outside seemed determined to work against him, persistently pressing the doorbell with no sign of leaving.
"It might be something urgent." She pushed him again, with a hint of unease.
Benjamin noticed her little mood from the corner of his eye and stopped what he was doing.
He pressed his hand on the bed, looking down at Evelyn's flushed face, various emotions flashing through his dark eyes.
Finally, he got up and walked out.
Was he angry?
Evelyn immediately sat up and pulled the blanket around herself.
At the same time, she couldn't help but pinch herself secretly. Why couldn't she get past this mental block?
She bit her lip. After the performance ends, she must successfully sleep with him!
After adjusting her breathing, she wanted to go out and see what was happening, but through the mirror, she saw her face full of desire, and her fair neck covered with red marks.
How can she face people like this?
Evelyn went into the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face, then changed into loungewear before walking out of the bedroom.
She immediately saw Benjamin standing at the door.
She walked over curiously and saw Freya standing at the door.
"Ms. Thomas."
Freya seemed startled when she saw Evelyn appear.
She ignored this and went straight to hold Benjamin's arm: "Is something wrong?"
If she had known it was Freya, she shouldn't have covered the kiss marks on her neck. She leaned against him, still grumbling inwardly.
Benjamin, with his cold aura, naturally wrapped his arm around her waist when she leaned over, making her more comfortable.
Freya, left on the sidelines, dug her nails into her palms, her heart filled with hatred, though she didn't dare show it on her face.
She lowered her head, hiding the dark expression on her face.
"Ms. Thomas, I came to find you."
"Everyone was just saying that since we rarely get to come out, we should get together."
"So they asked me to come get you. Will you come?"
Evelyn glanced at the time.
It was only eight o'clock. This early, being alone in a room with a man, who knows what might happen.
It would be safer to go out.
"Okay. You go ahead, I'll be there in a bit."
After she finished speaking, she saw Freya still standing there with her head down, showing no reaction.
Was it because of the private jet incident last time, when she went back on her word, that Freya didn't dare trust her anymore?
Evelyn's eyes rolled slightly, and she pushed Benjamin.
"There's nothing to do this late anyway, you should come too."
"Go change your clothes, we'll wait for you here."
The dance troupe was all women—he didn't want to go.
But seeing her expectant look, he agreed anyway.
After he went back to his room, Evelyn lifted her eyelids to look at Freya.
"Why did you get involved with Matthew? I'm not interested and too lazy to ask."
"But I'd advise you to control your facial expressions."
"Even if Benjamin isn't mine, he'll never belong to you."
She curved her red lips, her smile carrying obvious mockery: "You know how he treats you, don't you?"
His previous kindness to Freya was out of obligation—he treated Freya like a sister.
Now...
He wouldn't even look at Freya properly.
Just now, when Evelyn hadn't come out, he even wanted to directly send Freya away.
Freya raised her head.
Even though she hated Evelyn to the core, she had to admit Evelyn was beautiful—strikingly beautiful, generous, and aggressive.
With her looks alone, Evelyn had few rivals.
"You only caught Benjamin's eye because of your face!"
Worried about Benjamin hearing, she tried hard to keep her voice down, but the hatred in her eyes couldn't be hidden at all and almost burst out.
"Men's power and status will increase day by day, but what about a woman's beauty?"
She sneered: "It will only depreciate with time. Evelyn, sooner or later, Benjamin will get tired of you."
"After all, beauty is the least valuable thing to powerful men."
Freya's triumphant attack seemed to already envision Evelyn being abandoned by Benjamin.
But...
Evelyn lazily pulled at the corner of her lips: "If I say you're stupid, these few sentences actually make some sense."
"If I say you're smart, you never grasp the key point."
"Even if I'm abandoned, I was once cherished by him. What about you?"
She didn't continue the rest and directly closed the door.
She clearly knew Benjamin wasn't interested in Freya, but seeing Freya's seemingly innocent face that was actually full of schemes, she just found it disgusting!
When Benjamin came out, he saw her standing alone at the door, lost in thought.
"Why are you standing here?"
He walked over and naturally held her, tidying the hair that fell by her cheek.
"I was thinking, if it's just a get-together, why not have dinner together in the evening instead of running to the hotel bar to drink at this hour?"
Drinking causes trouble—that's common knowledge.
The Star Dance Troupe came to Shadow City to perform. How could they drink during this critical period?
Even if tomorrow was just a rehearsal, it was still very important.
"Probably since we rarely get out, everyone wants to relax a bit." Benjamin obviously hadn't thought deeply about it.
He was sharp and capable in business, but didn't understand women's minds that well.
Evelyn didn't explain. Some things he didn't need to know.
"You're right, let's go then."
They were the last to go down. The dance troupe members had already formed a circle, and Matthew was there too.
Everyone came from ballet backgrounds, each with excellent figure and temperament, making them an absolute sight to see in the bar.
The only three men were also outstanding.
Even though Gregory was older, because he took good care of himself and came from a dance background, he was quite handsome, too.
So their group was very eye-catching.
"Mr. White, come over here!"
A member of the troupe who liked excitement and wanted to show off deliberately had bright eyes when she saw Benjamin.
She was quite puzzled. Did she have no presence at all?
Right in front of her, that female member was acting like she was trying to steal him?
"Mr. White really is charming."
