Chapter 292 A Terrifying Scene

Chapter 293 Sudden Change

Several children were strapped to hospital beds, tubes inserted all over their bodies, blood flowing through catheters into a huge container.

The children were in terrible pain, yet blood kept draining from their bodies bit by bit.

The walls were covered with photos of children - no names, just numbers and blood collection dates.

Diana squinted, straining to see the dates, and suddenly her consciousness snapped back.

"Diana, Diana! Wake up!" Nicholas had grabbed the sapphire pendant, desperately trying to remove it, completely ignoring the pain in his hand.

"Wake up! Damn it!"

He kept pulling harder, the pain in his palm growing more intense.

Suddenly a soft little hand grasped his.

"Nicholas." Diana was somewhat weak, but her voice was still gentle. "I'm fine."

"Damn it! This damn pendant!" Nicholas still tried to yank at the pendant, but Diana hugged him, stopping him from using more force.

Feeling the power from the pendant gradually subside, Diana let out a long breath. Looking at Nicholas's palm, it was already injured.

"Ethan, help treat his hand." She was about to turn around when her legs went weak and she nearly fell.

Nicholas steadied her, then scooped her up. "Back to the hospital room first. We'll talk about everything else later."

He knew that every time Diana had a vision of something, it would drain her energy.

He didn't know if this drain affected her health, but he was certain it wasn't a good thing.

That damn pendant had to come off.

Sensing his anger, Diana obediently nestled in his arms. Even after returning to the hospital room, she wouldn't let go. "Nicholas, treat your hand properly, or it'll scar. I don't want you to have scars."

Seeing her acting cute, Nicholas finally nodded. "Ethan."

Ethan, who had followed them in, walked over and began applying medicine with some complaint. "I'm just the sidekick for you two lovebirds - personal doctor, money-making tool. I demand a raise!"

"Ms. Windsor, what's the deal with that pendant? Such power? Is it some alien meteorite or something?"

"Anyway, it's a treasure." Diana smiled awkwardly.

Feeling exhausted, she quietly closed her eyes, trying hard to recall what she had seen.

She was certain she'd never seen that room before, but she recognized one of the tied-up children - Vivian.

Thinking about Brice kidnapping his own daughter Vivian and planning to drain her blood made Diana shudder.

But considering Brice might have also killed his wife, Diana thought this cold-blooded man was capable of anything.

Now that she had already obtained the Dawnveil Clover, why was Brice still doing these things? Just for the Herbal Compendium?

Diana opened her eyes and quickly grabbed her phone nearby, staring in disbelief.

Today was June 9th, and the date she saw was June 10th, so the children would be taken away today?

She carefully recalled the details but could only sense that the room had been constantly swaying.

"At sea, they're back at sea!" Diana tried several times to sit up but failed each time.

"Diana, Luke has already taken people there, and Eric's people are at the airport. Their people can't escape." Nicholas held her hand, his expression extremely serious. "You need to rest now. Whatever you saw, I'm here, nothing will happen."

Nicholas didn't need to ask Diana what she saw - he had already guessed most of it.

Extremely expensive special medicine, drugged children, plus them kidnapping Declan who was the "only one" who could grow special herbs, and wanting to take the Herbal Compendium - what Brice was planning was obvious.

The medical industry had always been the most profitable. Although Nicholas hadn't paid much attention to his pharmaceutical companies over the years, he knew the income was substantial.

If the organization Brice served could monopolize some special treatment method, countless wealthy people would flock to them.

Doyle might not be an isolated case.

Diana wanted to say more, but Nicholas had already put on a stern face. "Diana, rest. Leave everything else to me, okay?"

Diana nodded helplessly and could only lie in bed to rest, mainly because she couldn't get up anyway.

She was really too tired and unknowingly fell asleep.

Seeing Diana's exhausted state, Nicholas gently stroked her face and kissed her lips before standing up. "Take care of her, don't let her leave the hospital."

"You think I can?" Ethan looked at Nicholas helplessly.

Nicholas raised an eyebrow. "When she wakes up, have her take care of her grandmother. She'll stay."

More than ten minutes later, Diana's phone rang. She opened her eyes tiredly. "Hello."

"Ms. Windsor? Don't tell me you were sleeping?" Brice's slightly mocking voice came through.

Diana instantly woke up. Seeing she was alone in the room, she immediately lowered her voice. "I need to confirm Declan is safe before I pay the ransom. The exchange must happen today. I'm only giving you one night."

Brice sneered. "Ms. Windsor is getting nervous now? When you said you'd make the formula public and provide raw materials to other companies, didn't you think you might not be able to save Declan?"

"I thought you only wanted money and the Herbal Compendium. Brice, you don't have the ability to grow special herbs on a large scale. You don't have the money or the equipment." Diana's mocking voice came through. "And you don't have the talent either. Otherwise Lavern would have taught you the cultivation methods instead of teaching Declan, right?"

As she spoke, she took out a backup phone from the bedside table and quickly had Clio locate Brice's position.

Brice's side went silent. After more than ten seconds, Declan's voice came through. "Ms. Windsor, this is Declan."

Declan's voice was trembling. "Vivian and I are okay for now."

"Good, don't worry. I'll pay the ransom and definitely get you out."

Hearing Diana say this, Declan suddenly shouted, "No, don't save me! They're bad people, don't come! There are other children here, save the children, save the children first!"

"Damn it!" Brice cursed under his breath, and sounds of Declan being beaten came through the phone.

"Brice, you bastard! If something happens to him, no one else can grow those precious herbs!" Diana shouted.

"Doesn't matter. I know some cultivation methods too, just not as professional as him. At worst it'll just be more troublesome." Brice no longer cared about hiding his identity, his voice even carrying some excitement. "Diana, you're not the only one with hackers. It won't be easy for your people to locate me."

"Bring what I want. Come to the dock alone. Someone will meet you."

"You probably don't know yet - those gemstone rough stones from the York family were previously exposed to radiation, right? To solve the effects of radiation on the body, only Horizon Healthcare has the special medicine. You think about it carefully."

Hearing the busy tone, Diana frowned deeply.

The gemstone rough stones were exposed to radiation?

She carefully recalled the situation at Starwave Island. The energy there did seem very high. She had used her witch abilities then but hadn't thought about radiation being a loophole.

Just as she was struggling with this, Ethan had already rushed into the room. "Ms. Windsor, something's wrong! Nicholas and your grandmother have both collapsed."
