CAUGHT
CAUGHT
Third POV (Elara)
Elara sped down the road causing havoc to other users. She was trying to get away, escape from all the atrocities she had committed.
Karma was finally coming down on her for the wickedness she had shown to those around her.
First, she had murdered innocent people just to get that which belonged to them. Second, she had manipulated people with dark magic, controlling their decisions to fit hers.
She fled from the city, hoping that once she left the werewolf Kingdom, she would start a new life in the human world.
Unknown to her, the time for her atonement had come.
Glancing at her side mirror, she realized she was being followed. She hit the pad of her accelerator and zoomed into speed.
They raced after her while trying their best not to cause damage to pedestrians on the road. Her reckless drive sent people into panic.
Roads cleared at the sight of her over speeding vehicle. However, everything came to an end when she spotted Evelyn and Sebastian in front.
“She's not going to stop," Evie said as Elara's car came closer.
“I know but she won't dare to go beyond the margin." Sebastian remained unfazed since they had put a barrier that would stop Elara from getting close to them.
“You know I don't want her dead until she answers every question I have for her. If she crashes into the barrier she is going to die for sure." Evelyn nagged but Sebastian remained adamant.
He knew what he was up to and didn't want to relent from it. This was his way of protecting his wife from the danger ahead.
As Elara got closer she noticed the barrier and hit the break pads to slow down. Her car slightly collided with the barrier and had a little damage to it.
She slammed her hands on the wheel ferociously, screaming from being defeated. In seconds she went mad and pulled out a gun.
Immediately she got out, Sebastian's guards surrounded her pointing their guns at her while she directed hers to Evie.
EVELYN POV
Elara went breskeke after she was trapped in our barrier. Pulling out a gun from her coat, she pointed it at me.
“I will shoot her if any of you take a step closer to me," she threatened, looking side by side like a psycho.
Sebastian stepped in front of me, shielding my small frame away from her. I knew he wouldn't let anyone harm me but there are things that needed to be settled face to face.
I grabbed his hand and patted the back gently.
“No, Evie I am not letting you go anywhere close to that crazy woman," he said before I could even state what I had in mind.
“I know. She won't hurt me. I won't let her. But right now I need answers and only if I take a step forward will she let her guard down." I coaxed him but he remained adamant about it.
Seeing he wasn't willing to accept whatever terms I had, I decided to stand by his side and talk to Elara.
“I know you are far civilized than engaging in violence," I said, my voice high enough for everyone to hear.
“Civilized you say? That would be a joke to my intelligence. I know what you are capable of and the tricks you are trying to play. I won't let you detain me against my will," she screamed, helplessly. For the for time I saw the stone cold woman falling apart.
“You should have stayed with him," I started, letting her know I knew about her hidden family.
Her eyes widened in shock and quickly returned to the hazard that was burning in them.
“So what if I had a family? What difference does it make?"
“Then why did you destroy a matchade for each other? You killed Miriam, married her husband my father, murdered Ava's parents took her in as your own, manipulated people with dark magic but all for what?" I questioned, feeling a burning sensation in my chest.
Anger railed up to my heart, gnawing to be unleashed on the woman before me.
Her posture flattered on hearing my question and guilt flashed through her eyes but it was only for a moment.
“You have no idea what it feels like to be isolated and tortured for not be like everyone. I lost my wolf because your mother won't listen. I begged and begged and begged not to be tortured but no one listened. They were all there, in their cages watching as I was beaten over and over and over again. Why won't I get my revenge on the people I trusted the most?" She scowled with her teeth, I could see the anger in her eyes blazing like hell flames.
There was no going back for her. She was broken and tainted with darkness far worse than that of Layla.
“Those people you murdered didn't even know you. They were in the same situation as you were. Yet you charged at them, judged them for now protecting you when they could barely protect themselves. As for my mother, she did what she thought was best. You lost every humane blood in your sparrow and to curb you down, she took what would endanger the lives of others," I stated everything she had done without leaving any wound on turned.
Unable to accept the truth, she pulled the trigger.
Bang!
A shot fired in the air. Time suddenly slowed and the wretching silence stretched mixing with burnt smell of powder.
Right before my eyes, the bullet pierced into Sebastian's chest. Everything happened so fast but in my head it was like a 3D slow motion movie.
When I realized I was screaming and holding on to Sebastian it was already too late.
The only thing that played in my mind was the bullet. It was as if I was in a horror movie watching the love of my life die trying to save me.
“Luna Evelyn, you need to come down."
“Evie. Don't just stand there she is having a panic attack call the ambulance."
Different voices rang in my ears but all I could see was the firing moment and the bullet piercing Sebastian's body.
“It's alright Evie. I am here. Please breathe for me." His voice echoed in my mind but I couldn't see him.
My body was still in shock. It convulsed. seized. Panicked.
I couldn't breathe. Everything suddenly felt too suffocating for me. I clawed at something, the scent of metallic substance hit my nostrils worsening the tension.
Something pierced my skin and a rush coursed through my veins. Slowly, I grew weak and relaxed into a quiet calm while holding onto something I didn't know what it was.
Shortly, my system went into a full shutdown and I left myself draft into unconsciousness.
