REVISITING THE PAST
REVISITING THE PAST
Layla with Little Elara
“Do you feel better now?" I stared at the little girl who mindlessly without fear cleaned up the blood stains on my clothes.
“My Dad says a person heals faster when they have someone close to comfort them. I am sure you will get better by the time I spend more time with you," she beamed innocently.
Her childish features enhanced her beauty and for once I didn't feel any negative emotions towards her.
No hate.
No jealousy.
Just a little girl who was kind enough to help a stranger who had murdered both her parents.
“My name is Evelyn. I am from the Darkmoor family. What is your name?" She asked, her eyes enlarged with curiosity.
“I'm Layla. I don't have a family at the moment. People like you shouldn't be around me. I will only cause you trouble." I pushed her away and she stumbled back, hitting her but on the ground.
“Ouch! That hurts." She got up and dusted her pretty red dress and remained fixed at the same spot.
“You know pushing me away will not get you anywhere. Instead, it will make me eager to conquer you. Everything that's seems difficult to me, I take them up as a challenge," she said, confidently grinning like a lottery winner.
“How old are you?" I asked and she hums thinking of what answer to give me.
“You are just my age," she chimed.
I scoffed at her silly answer since I was in my adult form and not a kid like her. She must think we are of the same age since she was from the past.
“Listen up, little girl. In the future, I won't be good to you. It's best you walk away now that I am telling you to. I am not a nice person at all," I said, trying to scare her away. But she puffed her cheeks and kicked my leg instead.
“What is that supposed to mean? Are you threatening me or something? Do you know who I am? I am stronger than you can imagine even though I don't have my wolf yet." She snorted, obviously displeased with my belittling words. “You know what? You are coming with me. Whether you like it or not," she declared with a stomp on the ground. Her features changed from an innocent to fiesty little champ.
I couldn't bring myself not to laugh. My voice echoed through the air and when I realized I had just laughed, it felt so different like a comforting voice foreign to my own ears.
“What is going on?" I held my head realizing none of this was real.
It can't be real.
Really?
Elara POV
Watching Layla debt herself with my little past self made it difficult for me to believe she was actually the same person I knew.
Just to satisfy her greed, she hae stained her hands with people's blood. She was a make shifted of a blood thirsty witch.
“So you do remember what it felt like to be young." I cornered her as she tried to stabilize herself from the dream.
“What are you doing to me?" She staggered losing gravity of her feet.
I stared at her pathetic self she had turned herself into. Layla was never greedy and this evil. She brought her condemnation to herself.
“You still have to win a fight against me or you will die trying." I pointed my sword at her even though she was still down.
She grunted in anguish, falling apart as the result of her evil deed and connection to dark magic began to take place.
“I have nothing to do or say with you. I don't regret my actions. I never will. But one thing I will regret is not killing you in this lifetime," she said, thrusting her knife into the air as I sliced her hand off.
Her voice echoed from the pain of losing an arm. But then again, she won't be able to bleed nor will she heal fast with her wolf.
That was her punishment.
“Every being at some point do have regrets. Though you have refused to acknowledge yours. I do know that you regret taking the lives of your own parents. They were harmless especially your mother who protected you from your father," I barked into her ears and she screamed.
“She was weak. I killed her to end her misery."
“Your mother used her body as a shield to protect you. It would have been better if you had only take the life that harmed you," I accused her, shaking her resolve with the words that hurt the most.
“I did what I thought was best for her," she yelled.
“What about the maids you silently tortured because you thought they were underneath you. You killed them painfully, harming them just because they didn't satisfy you needs," I pointed out, slicing her with every crime she had committed.
Words were the fastest way to kill a being. And that was her greatest torment, using her past against her since I couldn't bring myself to hurt her.
She dropped on her knees shaking her head vigorously in disbelief.
“Are you ashamed now that you know the truth? I thought you didn't feel regret." I taunted her further.
“That's not true. Those maids were insolent fools that deserved death. I only did the right thing any noble would do!" She defended herself boldly.
“Then what about the children you sacrificed just because you wanted to achieve the downfall of a man who never caused harm to your hair?" I questioned her and she laughed like a maniac.
“Alpha Sebastian was an enemy I had to get rid of. If hadn't poisoned the mind of that elder, I won't have achieved the damage and distraction I wanted. Unfortunately, Evelyn and him were about to tackle the issue at hand. They proved themselves lucky."
“Very well, I can see you have no remorse for all the evil you have done. Therefore, your punishment will be for eternity. Your soul shall perish into nothingness and never be reborn again."...
