Chapter 193: Impending betrayal

Chapter 193: Impending betrayal
“ Four weeks old. It's that month, fuck, that month.” Tamara cussed between her teeth. Her heart was racing with her trembling legs and hands.

She kept biting her nails off her fingers.

“ Who's the father?” She asked herself, dragging her palm down her wrinkled face. “ How am I supposed to know the father when Mason forced himself on me that night, and Shawn slept with me a few hours later.”

She grunted, crouched down on the bathroom floor, and shook her head.

‘It can't belong to Mason, that loser. That would be the end of me; he doesn't have anything of value or a good thing going on for him. And…it can't belong to Shawn,’ She thought to herself. A pang of guilt hit her as she thought of her mother.

Even though she's still pissed at her and hurt about what she said to her earlier, she still couldn't stop the feeling of guilt that wrapped around her chest.

She heaved a heavy sigh. “It's just a month old, I can still abort it.”

She nodded at the solution she came up with. But something tugged at her, a thought on how perfectly she could use this, to get what she wants.

“ He'll either do what I want, or I'll use it to drag them down.” She said and smirked evilly.

| SHAWN’S HOUSE |

“ Fuck.” He yelled with deep frustration and smashed the glass cup against the wall. “ Why won't he just fucking die!!!!”

He screamed, his breath shaking with rage. No matter what he does, how many times he tries, he's always failing.

And yet, this is another failed attempt to kill Antonio. He's always getting away, as if he has some kind of guardian protecting him.

Shawn’s knuckles had turned white from deep clenching, his jaw gritting like an angry hyena. He counted how long and how many times he's failed, and how slimmer each chance keeps getting.

This was the best chance he thought he could use only to be told that they didn't board the plane.

But the more he fails, the thirstier he gets. The more he wants him dead by all means.

He quickly grabbed his phone and dialed Zade's contact.

“ Hello,” Zade said over the phone.

“ I found a way.” He said with no delay.

“ A way for what?”

“ To get you the company, and take Antonio out for good.”

“ Love this, go on, tell me, what help do you need with that?”

Shawn smirked. ‘ The best and worst death, is one from family. To easily kill Antonio, I'll make use of the one he loves.’

He said in his mind.

“ You told me you've settled things with Antonio, right? You guys are now in good contact.”

“ Yes, the idiot believes we're cool now,” Zade replied with a smirk and a tone that told Shawn he'd perfectly deceived Antonio.

“ Good.” He smiled. “ What I need your help with, is getting him to a place at a particular time.”

“ Getting him to a place? Where?”

“ I'll give you the details before today ends, but I have to be certain you can get him to that place.”

“ Trust me, Antonio is gullible, a single lie is enough to have him running to me.”

“ Then, it's done, I'll forward you the details soon.” With that, he hung up and a smile crept onto his face.

“I can't wait to see his face when he realizes the brother he loves and has been protecting has just betrayed him.”Shawn giggled as he said to himself.

He glanced at the shattered glass on the floor and exhaled.

“ I should call someone to clean this up ..”

A ringing from the doorbell cut him short. He turned his head towards the door, wondering who the visitor was.

One of his guards came out of a corner to check on whoever it was and came back to report.

Shawn rolled his eyes as he permitted the guard to let her in.

“ You should've called to let me know you're coming.” He said nonchalantly as he sat on the couch.

“ Because I needed to see you urgently,” Tamara said, taking her seat opposite him. She glanced to see a maid cleaning some broken glass on the floor and turned away with no curiosity about how it came to be.

“ Now you're seeing me, what's it?”

“ Antonio, when is he becoming mine?”

He scoffed.

Her brow creased upon seeing his nonchalance.

“ You promised me, that you'll make him mine.”

“ Ain't promise meant to be broken?” He asked with a tone that tells the promise was never intended to be kept.

“ What?!”

“ And is Antonio an object that I can just hand over to you?”

“ He's your cousin.”

“ Not my son.” He shrugged. “ How can I convince a man that's not my son to marry you?”

“ Then what did you promise me?” She yelled, her head spiralling in anger.

“ And you're so naive and stupid to have believed that.” He chuckled. “ How can I convince someone I hate, and that hates me with all his gut, someone I want dead?”

Tamara's lips trembled. Her nose burns and flares with her fist clenched. “ So you used me, you lied to me to sleep with me.”

“ That was so easy, you were too blinded by your greed to think or reason.”

“ You son of a bitch!” She yelled, threw her purse at him.

Her breath quivered.

Her toes curled at how stupid she felt at the moment.

She's been deceived. Lied to. Used.

“ You think you can get away with this, you lied to me!”

“ People lie, don't they? It's your fault for having fallen for it.” He said with a shrug and stood up.

“ You disgusting piece of shit, you're not worthy of being with my mom.”

Shawn burst into laughter. “ And you're worthy of being her daughter? I wonder how many of her boyfriends you've slept with, but then again, ain't you alike? Ready to jump at anything to fulfil your greed.”

That felt like a slap across her cheeks. She tightened her fist, her throat felt dry making it difficult for her to swallow his insults.

“ You don't love my mother, do you?”

“ Don't I?” He feigned a wondering expression and giggled. “ I can't say yet.”

“ I'm pregnant.” She let out. “ And you're the father.”

A second of silence followed.

Shawn's smile dropped for a second. “ Wow, is that your new tactic? Lying about pregnancy now?”

She angrily stood up and reached out for the paper in her purse before shoving it in his face.

He snatched it and went through the content. “ So? Am I the only one you've been screwing?”

Tamara scoffed in disbelief. “ For a month now, yes, you're the only one.”

“ Well, I don't believe that.”

“ Well, you have no choice cause you're the father.”

“ Then..get rid of it, you are not a kid to know this isn't a pregnancy that can be kept.”

“ Says who?” She eyed him in disgust. “ If you know that so well, then make him mine, or the whole world will know about this pregnancy.”

“ including your mum?” He returned the look of disdain and anger.

Tamara smirked. “ Including my mum.”

Shawn scoffed in disgust. “ You really are the worst child.”
