Chapter 191: Mason swore
Chapter 191: Mason swore
“ You've not been saying anything, Olly,” Laera muttered, her voice laced with uncertainty.
Her heart was racing. Her palms sweaty.
He hasn't said anything to her since they left the airport, and she has no idea what's going through his mind.
“ Are you okay? Should…Can I get you anything?” She asked again.
He let out a sigh.
And yet again, gave no response.
He turned to her, looked at her briefly before looking away.
“ Can you please talk to me? You've not been saying anything at…”
“ I don't know what to say or where to start from.” He mumbled, staring into space. “ Should I start from my confusion about how Eloise knew the plane would be exploding? Who's trying to kill us? Or how you never mentioned your stalker.”
Her heart skipped.
She knew …that she had words to say to him, that she owed him an apology.
“ Olly..”
“ Why?” He swallowed, “Why didn't you tell me? Your ex was stalking you, trespassing, and you never thought to mention it to me or report it to the police?”
“ I didn't want to bother you and I thought I had it under control.”
“ That doesn't seem like you had it under control, and bother me? I'm your man, nothing about you is a bother to me.”
Laera's face dropped.
‘ How can I share something like that when this is just for a month?’ she mumbled sadly in her mind.
“ You can't say that.” She replied. “ This is all for a month, I don't want..”
“ Oh.” He mouthed, cutting her short. “ Because this is just a month deal?”
His shoulder slumped. "Every second I spent with you is a minute I never wanted to end. I had hoped you would open your heart to me and know I don't just want a month with you. But I guess your mind is really locked up.”
“ Oliver.”
“ No, it's alright, I'm not going to force you to do what you don't want.” He tried to mask the disappointment and sadness in his voice.
He forced a smile at her. “ I should take my leave.”
He stood up.
“ Oliver, wait.” She quickly grabbed his wrist. “ It's not like that.”
“ I'm okay, Laera, don't feel guilty about it…”
“ I'm not feeling guilty.” She cut in. “ I just..I don't want to be with you because of a deal or an agreement.”
She quickly said. “ I want to be with you, because... I love you. I started having feelings even before I realized it. I didn't tell you about Jeremy because I was afraid that would push you away, and…and I don't want that.”
She hung her head. Her grip became softer. “ Even if it's an agreement, isn't a month too short?”
Her gaze moved up to meet his.
He held her gaze, soft, tender, and filled with emotions she couldn't decipher.
Her fingers curled, her heart began racing as he remained silent.
‘Please, say something,’ she pleaded in her mind.
A smile broke out on his face.
“ Do you know how much I've longed to hear that? How fast my heart races each time I remember the month is coming to an end and I have no idea how exactly you feel about me. Fuck, you have no idea." He grabbed her cheeks between his palms and slammed his lips onto hers.
Her heart leaped with joy, her lips curved into a smile as she kissed him back.
“ There's no going back, Laera, you're mine now.” He muttered between the kisses before it got deepened and intense.
Mason stood by the gate, a dark hoodie over his head. His eyes bulging with dark circles around them.
He glared right at Antonio’s house. Watching, waiting, with his fist clenched and ready to seize any opportunity to abduct her.
He had gone to the hospital but just upon his arrival, she'd bolted right past him, all agitated like a second delay would cost her-her life.
She didn't even see him. Nor pay him a glance.
Like he never existed to her.
“ Where could she be heading, looking all scared and desperate, she wasn't even in her slippers.” He'd asked himself.
Curiosity took the best of him and he immediately went after her, quickly boarding the next taxi.
He had paid someone professional to track her down for him, after he went to her house and found no one. The person had only recently given him an update that she was at the hospital.
By the time he arrived at the airport, he looked for her, and when he saw her, she was hugging him. Antonio. Wrapping her arms around him like he was her everything.
The way he was touching her, kissing and holding her.
His blood boils.
His knuckles had whitened, and his eyes were bloodshot.
Then the explosion.
And now she's back in his house, alone with another man that's not him.
He slowly gazed at the cross bag he was holding and opened it slightly to confirm if it was still there.
The gun.
He touched it. “ You ruined everything for me. You took everything I've worked all my life for, the company, the recognition,” he glared back at the house. Hatred for Antonio surging within him.
“ How dare you use him to get me? How dare you upload my tape online, ruining my image and life.” He mumbled, his words laced with rage.
He could have reported Antonio for illegal videoing, but that would only have drawn more attention to him, especially when he already had reporters lurking at his house and known as gigolo, an ungrateful man that cheats on his wife that gave him her company.
“ I'll make you pay, I'll take it all back.” He stood steps away from the h
ouse, not wanting to be seen or noticed, he stepped further into a darker corner.
“ I don't mind how long I have to wait, but Elly, if I can't have you, then no one else will. You can only love me, you can only worry like that, only if it were me. If destroying you gets me that, then I'll do it over and over again.”
He swore.
