“My bad. She is my best friend and we treat each other as twins, so we add our surnames to each other when calling each other,” Isley said with a smile on her face, facing the audience.

She kept her composure despite what was going on. The normal folks believed her, but the powerful people in the background could tell that there was a mystery to everything. However, none of them planned on going against the Barnes or the Alessandros just to satisfy their curiosity. Also, if Ivanna was really an Alessandro who had grown up with the Barnes, that means that the two families were closer than they thought.

The only influential person who was in the city was Mr Alessandro; he stared at Marcello as if trying to see whether he could see anything in his face. His stare made Marcello chuckle as he turned to him.

“Bastard, you are lucky that it has already been decided that you will marry my baby sister. If that wasn’t the case, we wouldn’t even pay attention to you or explain anything,” Marcello said, startling Floyd.

“You guys know?” he asked in a whisper. Floyd knew that they knew that he had said that he would never marry Nadia, and he was interested in Ivanna, which wasn’t a secret. He seemed to forget what Marcello really said.

“Mmmh. Isley and Ivanna are twins. Isley was taken away after her mother gave birth to her. She lived with our father all her life,” Marcello explained in some simple words, but his words seemed to explain a lot.

Floyd stared at Marcello so hard. He found it hard to believe it. He turned his attention to Ivanna as he started feeling nervous. In the past, his only problem was getting the Barnes and the Ross to approve of him and allow him to marry Ivanna after she reached twenty, but now. It seemed that it would be even trickier. Would that man really allow his daughter, who hasn’t grown up on his side, to marry so far?

He frowned, thinking so deeply that he made both Kyrell and Marcello chuckle when they saw how he was behaving. “Let’s go back, mmh?” she said as she patted her head, and Ivanna nodded.

Fiona, who was watching what was happening, felt angry and jealous. Though she didn’t know so much about the affluent families, from how people behaved and the fact that Nick had proposed to the young lady, she knew the Alessandro family was on par with the Barnes.

She wondered what right Ivanna had to be the Barnes family's daughter while she could only be the daughter of the richest family in a small city. They couldn’t even earn people’s respect when they came to the capital.

Her brothers neither listened to her father nor their grandparents, and the person they listened to wasn’t in their hands that they could use to threaten them. She wished that she could also be pampered just like Ivanna, who didn’t need to scheme to get her family’s company.

She knew that no matter which brother managed the company, she could always get everything she needed. She wondered whether she had done the wrong thing by avoiding her brothers. If she were close to them when they were young and didn’t compete with them for everything, would they be pampering her now?
