Chapter 64 Fake Mate~ Real Mate Revelation
Chapter 64 Fake Mate~ Real Mate Revelation
Zane ~
I sat on the bed and laid her on my lap. She was fast asleep already. The sight of her peaceful face pierced my heart deep.
Colt was evil, and I didn't even want her to know that her own brother had been the one behind her sealed powers all this time.
Zar’s voice echoed in my head, low and furious. It's high time you get him out of the club and cancel whatever you've got with him.
I shook my head in disbelief. “I can't do that to him.”
Zar roared annoyingly inside me. The fuck you're still defending that bastard after what he's done? Are you really blind, Zane? Can't you think? Why would her own brother ever think of locking her powers?
“Zar, please… I am not completely certain on that. I need everything explained in details, because tell me the hell why I'm not getting anything straight.”
Then fucking go meet Ephesus. Since you keep wanting answers instead of making viable solutions yourself.
This thing is clear enough for you to see, Thorne. You're not like this. C'mon, you're smart enough to start figuring things out fast yourself.
Your Alpha instinct is going down because you've become loose. You've let love ride you. You don't know how to control yourself again.
Zar continued, voice sharp. When last did you check your pack's activity, or when last did you organise your rehearsals? I've said it countless times, Zane...let Ember live her life.
I know the mate bond acts up, but try to let her be on her own sometimes. With you always in her life, she doesn't think more or try to do things herself.
She feels relaxed and then keeps acting like a human but she's a freaking wolf. Very soon the Council will be on your neck again about a Luna.
You can't keep shutting them every damn time. They have the right. It's their right to make sure the pack has its Alpha and its Luna.
And if they find out Ember doesn't have her powers nor her wolf, it's going to be out of line. And you know what that means...you'll be forced to break the bonds between the both of you.
And that will cause a lot. Because you two have come very far.
I stared into thin space in my room. I saw nothing but total black surface. My eyes were getting icy red.
Zar was right, and he shut down the mindlink angrily. Anytime he does that, it takes the grace of God for him to ever speak to me again.
I wasn't finding solutions to all of this one bit. Because hell, I'm always going to meet Ephesus, yet I get riddles, no changes.
Do I keep waiting? I needed to act fast. I needed something to back me up, at least with the Colt problem.
This is going to be deadly honestly, because Colt just drew a huge line.
He's going to leave the club, and for leaving the pack I'll hold still on that, because obviously if I banish him out the pack, he will surely demand for Ember.
That was the thing he was going to use against me again.
Whatever is going to happen, I'm going to prepare. Because it's going to be a long fight, just like our past life, and this that was going to occur again this time...for me, for Ember, and for the pack.
I'm going to fight him with all my last blood and sweat. Colt is evil, devilish, and probably on a mission.
And I've to watch closely because this whole thing is confusing.
And heck, Aphrodite is pregnant. The thought hit me again. Fuck. I thought it was going to lead somewhere.
Where the heck do I start explaining these things? How do I start telling her that the supposed father of her child is a devil? If a father could hide his own sister's power, how much more harm could he do to his own child?
I laid Ember directly on the bed and teleported straight to my hot spring. Ember was just naturally warm, and the more I thought of her, the more my frost popped out.
I stripped naked completely, because the frost was spreading. It shouldn't be like this. It's my 1000th year already.
My stage two power should have been unlocked, so why the hell am I not able to feel warm? Honestly, I needed to understand my powers again, because the whole thing was getting more confusing every freaking day of my life as an Alpha.
“Ephesus, appear,” I muttered slowly, summoning his spirit.
His spirit came up, same with my father, and I was completely shocked. Ever since my dad died, he had never appeared to me before. Why now?
“Dad,” I called out. He wasn't smiling nor frowning. He was just skeptical.
“Why are you disturbing my spirit, Alpha?” Ephesus said. “I needed to speak with you.”
“Ohh Alpha Thorne, you disturbed my important discussion with your father.”
I glared darkly at him.
“And whose discussion is more important, the dead or the living?” I asked, raising my eyes. I was clearly annoyed. He doesn't give me straight answers, so what the hell is he now discussing with my dad?
“Thorne,” my dad called out. “You lack basic knowledge. You act like you know what you're doing, and yet you know nothing.
I'm discussing some important things that I noticed that you don't do in the pack to Ephesus.
And that thing you ride, that nonentity called bike has taken your focus away from the pack. And lest I forget that girl you claim as your mate.”
Ephesus kept quiet, looking like a lost fool. I was just staring at my dad as he spoke.
“Thorne, you'll drop every bike team or whatever you call it, and face your pack.
When the people hear that their very own Alpha is a bike racer, how do you feel? Isn't it childish and shows every point of not being fit? So you're going to drop that, the people need you.”
I sat staring at him darkly.
“And then for your powers, which were supposed to come on your 1000 years, has been transferred to that fool you said was your mate. That's not your mate, Thorne.”
I blinked. “I don't understand. Who are you referring to, dad?”
“Ember Kane,” Ephesus answered, and I snarled sharply at him.
“Stay out of this, Ephesus. Because right now you stood like a stick and let my father take over your job.
Tell me, isn't his spirit supposed to be resting? Why is he here spitting out gibberish? If Ember isn't my mate, who the fuck then is?” I yelled so hard that another frost of ice gathered at my neck vein.
“Sloane is,” dad muttered slowly.
“What?” My ears were getting extremely cold at the moment.
