Chapter 63 Confrontation

Chapter 63 Confrontation
Ember ~

The cold water felt like heaven on my skin. I stayed under the shower longer than necessary, letting it wash away the hospital smell, Colt’s weird energy, and the lingering fear from everything that had happened.

My hand kept drifting to my stomach, gently caressing the place where my three little jewels were growing spiritually.

So I’m carrying Zane’s heirs. The power he’s been waiting a thousand years for is inside me right now.

The thought still made my head spin with a mix of wonder and terror.

I finally turned off the shower, wrapped a towel tightly around my body, and stepped out of the bathroom, water still dripping from my hair onto the floor.

The moment I entered my room, my heart stopped.

Colt was sitting on my bed, legs crossed, staring straight at me with dark, intense eyes.

I froze in the doorway, naked except for the thin towel, water pooling at my feet.

“Colt… what are you doing in my room?” My voice came out shaky and small.

He didn’t answer immediately. His gaze slowly traveled down my body, lingering on my bare shoulders, the curve of my breasts barely covered by the towel, my wet thighs, and the droplets running down my legs.

Something dangerous and possessive flickered in his eyes.

“I came to check on you,” he said, voice low. “You’ve been acting strange since the hospital. Hiding things. Smelling like someone else. Lying to me.”

I took a step back, clutching the towel tighter to my chest, my heart hammering. “Colt, please leave. I just finished bathing. This is not appropriate.”

He stood up slowly, eyes never leaving mine. “Appropriate? You’re my little sister, Ember. I raised you. I protected you.

And now you’re sneaking around, coming home with marks on your neck, disappearing for hours. Tell me the truth.

Have you been letting Zane touch you? Have you been spreading your legs for my best friend behind my back?”

The words hit like ice water. Panic surged through me. “Colt, stop. You’re scaring me. Let me get dressed first...”

He moved closer, faster than I expected. His hand shot out and grabbed my wrist, yanking me toward him.

The towel slipped dangerously low, exposing the top of my breasts.

“I warned you,” he growled, breath hot against my face. “I warned you to stay away from those boys. Especially him. If you’ve broken the rule… if you’ve let him mark you…”

I twisted desperately, trying to pull away. “Let me go! Colt, you’re hurting me!”

My free hand shoved hard against his chest. The towel nearly fell completely as I stumbled backward.

In pure panic, I ripped my wrist free and bolted for the door, bare feet slapping against the floor, towel barely holding on as I ran down the hallway.

I burst out of the room, heart pounding, tears blurring my vision.

And collided straight into a hard, cold chest.
Strong arms caught me instantly, steadying me before I could fall.

The familiar scent of frost and leather wrapped around me like safety.
“Embie?”

Zane’s voice was low, dangerous. His eyes took in my state...wet hair, only a slipping towel, tears streaming down my face, Colt charging behind me...and his expression turned murderous in a heartbeat.

He pulled me behind him protectively, one arm wrapping around my waist to hold the towel in place and shield my body with his own.

“Zane…” I whispered, shaking.
Colt stopped short, eyes widening at the sight of us.

“What the fuck is this?” Colt snarled. “You… and my sister?”

Zane’s voice came out deadly calm, frost already spreading across the floor beneath his feet.

“Yes. Me and her. She is mine. My mate. My Luna.”

He looked down at me, eyes softening for a split second. “Are you okay, little berry?”

I nodded shakily, pressing closer to him, the towel now secured by his arm around me.
Zane’s gaze snapped back to Colt, ice cracking in the air around them.

“Touch her again,” Zane growled, “and I will freeze every drop of blood in your veins until you beg me to end you. She is not your property. She is not yours to control or question. She is mine.”

The temperature dropped sharply. Colt’s breath came out in visible puffs as frost crawled up his arm where Zane’s power reached him.

Colt looked between us, face twisted in rage, betrayal, and disbelief.

“You broke the rule… with my own sister?”
Zane’s smile was pure ice.

“And I’d break every rule in existence for her. Now get the fuck out my sight before I decide to make an example out of you.”

The air crackled with raw power. Colt’s eyes widened as the realization fully hit him. For the first time, he looked truly afraid of Zane.

Zane didn’t wait for a response. He simply turned, scooped me up into his arms bridal style, towel and all, and teleported us away from the house in a swirl of ice and shadows.

The moment we reappeared in his room, he set me down gently on the bed, his hands cupping my face.

“Embie, talk to me. Did he hurt you? Did he touch you?”

I shook my head, tears finally falling freely. “He grabbed my arm… he was accusing me of sleeping with you.

He burst in while I was bathing. I was so scared, Zane.”

Zane’s jaw clenched so hard I heard it crack. Frost spread across the floor around us.

“He will never touch you again,” he vowed, voice dark and possessive.

“Never. You are mine, Ember. My mate. My Luna. And I will burn this entire pack down before I let anyone hurt you.”

He pulled me into his chest, holding me tight as I cried, his cold hands warming against my skin.
