I'll find them

Logan's wound had disappeared, his breathing was regular, and his heart was beating normally. I breathed a sigh of relief and rested my head on his chest, relaxing from all the tension we had been through. Lia returned with bandages and material to clean the wound, but they were no longer needed. When she saw me in my wolf form, she stopped at the door, startled. I didn't understand her astonishment until Fenrir himself approached me cautiously. He stretched out his small hand towards me and I licked it. I tried to speak to him, but my voice wouldn't come out. I looked around, not understanding why, and when I looked at my body, I understood why they were amazed.
My body was twice the size it had been, my hair longer and shinier, my long claws tearing through the covers as if they were mere rags. A different energy flowed through my body, it was unlike anything I had ever felt, very like the sensation of being in front of the Goddess. I tried to return to my human form, but I couldn't as if something was holding me there forcibly. I touched Fenrir's face with my muzzle and he smiled, hugging my neck. He then pulled away and looked at Logan, who was still sleeping soundly in bed.
"Is Dad going to be all right?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady and calm. I nodded in confirmation.
As he approached, Lia carefully observed the whole situation, then knelt in front of the bed in silence. I stood up and tried to speak once more, but only grunts and barks came out of my mouth.
"My lady, the Goddess has given you the greatest blessing of the Dawn Wolves," Lia said solemnly. He raised his tear-filled eyes. "You are truly loved by our Goddess."
A movement from the bed caught my attention and Logan woke up, sitting up in bed. He looked at me in confusion and amazement at my appearance, put his hand on the shoulder that had been injured, and then realized that there was nothing else there.
"Take Fenrir," he said, and Lia immediately picked Fenrir up and left the room. I sat down in front of Logan, who analyzed me carefully, making me feel a little ashamed of the intensity of his gaze. "How did this happen?"
I didn't know how to explain it to Logan, especially as I couldn't speak. I thought hard about how to explain, but there was nothing around to help me. Logan took a deep breath and I looked at him.
"You don't need anything, just say it." I looked at him confused, and he just kept looking at me.
"Can you hear me?" I thought as clearly as I could.
"Of course I can, what are you talking about?" I moved closer to him, putting my muzzle close to his.
"I can't talk, I'm just concentrating on what I'd like to tell you." Logan then seemed to realize what was happening, but unlike Lia, he was irritated by the situation.
Logan stood up and looked outside, seeing the red moon shining high in the sky, then he looked at the courtyard, probably at all the chaos caused by the invaders.
"The Goddess likes to test us at the worst possible times." Logan turned and faced me. "For now, let's try to understand all this mess and find out how many prisoners we have, then we'll try to understand your situation calmly. I hope you don't mind staying in this form for a while." I nodded and Logan smiled.
We went out into the courtyard, everyone looking at me with curiosity and amazement, after all, I was almost the size of a beta wolf, a little smaller than Logan, and I felt an energy emanating from me, which attracted everyone's gaze. Some knelt as we passed the general, who was piling up the bodies of his enemies.
Several emotions began to invade me, confused feelings of fear, apprehension, happiness, and anger, all at the same time. I had to stop for a moment because it was all affecting my thoughts and my feelings. Everything was mixed up, and my mind was lost in confusion. I took a deep breath, then felt Logan's hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes with difficulty and saw him breathing deeply in front of me, I started to imitate him and soon everything was back to normal and I could see what was happening.
For some reason I was absorbing the feelings of those around me, so much so that those wolves began to look at each other as if something had been taken from them, their countenances were calm and focused. By absorbing those more intense feelings for me, their feelings balanced out, making them more focused on their duties. That must be another of the many gifts given to the she-wolves of the dawn. We continued on our way, still with many eyes on us, as I tried to control those feelings inside me, casting them into the depths of my mind.
"My king," the general said solemnly. "The attack has been contained, no traitors have escaped."
"Any prisoners?" Logan asked, looking around, I followed his gaze and there were just piles and piles of bodies, showing the true proportion of that attack.
"Those who were captured took their own lives." the general said, his voice laced with shame as if he hadn't done his duty.
"Cowards and weaklings. What a pitiful army our enemy has found." Logan looked at me for a quick moment, and I understood instantly.
I looked around, sniffing the air for any scent other than those that belonged. I searched and turned away from Logan, arriving at the main gate and finding a fresh trail, with a salty scent like seawater. Furthermore, I concentrated, trying to call out to Logan and keep my focus on the trail.
"Logan, I've found something." Almost immediately, Logan and the general appeared. "A trail, it looks like seawater." Logan sniffed the air but seemed confused.
"I don't feel anything," he said, looking at me, then turned to the general. "Do a detailed search, follow this direction." He pointed in the direction I showed him, and the general left to gather a group. "How can you smell that, when I can't smell anything."
I didn't understand why I'd found that trail, either. I took a deep breath and another scent emerged, something familiar that made my blood run hot with anger.
"I know where they are," I said in my mind, and Logan looked at me in surprise.
"They?" Logan asked, his hair already bristling.
"Gabriel and Diane."
