Chapter 70 CHAPTER 70

Chapter 70 CHAPTER 70
EMILY’S POV

It didn’t take a lot of time, but Roman was back at the cage, speaking urgently to Anthony, occasionally glancing at her.

Emily watched them, trying to read his lips.

Finally, Anthony stood at the glass, peering at her through it.

From his expression, Emily could tell he didn’t believe whatever Roman had told him.

Well it was up to her now to prove whatever he had said true.

“Ok Chaira, can I shift to my human form now?” Emily asked.

“Yes, you can, but after this, you need to give me a full day.”

“It’s been way too long,” Chiara mutters sorrowfully.

“I promise,” Emily told her.

She understood where Chaira was coming from, it was only right that she fully enjoyed her new found freedom, rather than lodging in Emily’s mind.

Emily breathed out, thinking of her human form.

She screamed at the painful change, wondering if something was wrong.

She had watched Roman and others change effectively, so why was she in so much pain?

“It’s because you are fully merged now.” Chaira told her. “Our body needs some time to get used to the constant change.”

Emily gritted her teeth, or should she say canine.

Screaming as her body underwent the change back to her human form.

Finally, she breathed out.

The change was complete, and she was currently naked, lying on the cold floor of the cage, as she tried to calm herself.

Banging on the glass, made her raise her head up.

Roman was there, banging excitedly on the glass, while Anthony and some researchers stared in shock.

Emily stood up, walking towards Roman.

She smiled softly, before placing her hands on his.

She frowned, before blushing at the realization of her nakedness.

Quickly, she crouched down, hugging her body.

Her babies were kicking repeatedly against her stomach, assuring her of their presence.

The cage opened up, Roman rushing inside.

He came towards her, placing a lab coat she was sure he had taken from one of the researchers on her.

He slowly helped her wear the coat, lone tear striding down his face as he buttoned up the coat.

Emily wiped the tears away, before hugging him tightly.

“It’s ok, it’s ok.” Roman kept whispering reassuringly to her or himself as he gently led her away from the cage.

“Bless the moon goddess,” Anthony says with a huge smile, stepping in front of them.

Emily smiled back weakly, hugging the coat Roman had wrapped around her.

“Ok, you can go rest for now, but I will be needing you back in this lab soon. We need to make sure everything is ok.”

“Killian..,” Emily croaked out. “You said he has never been in his wolf form before right?” she asked Anthony.

“Yes,” Anthony answered warily, “is there any problem?”

“No, I just thought maybe he doesn’t know how to shift back. He just needs guidance, someone to coach him how to.”

“You need to rest,” Roman murmurs out, holding her tighter to his body as Anthony opens up his mouth to ask more questions.

“You are right,” Anthony says instead, “go rest up, later we will properly discuss about all these.”

Emily nodded, sighing softly as Roman led her out of the underground lab.

I can’t tell how long I slept for, but Roman was seated close to me when I woke up. His hands, holding mine gently as he watched me.

I blinked repeatedly, yawning wide, giving him a soft smile.

“How long was i asleep for?” I asked, trying to stand up.

“Two days,” Roman whispered out tiredly, gently helping me sit upright.

I paused, wide eyed, “two days” I whispered back, “have you been awake all these while?” I asked Roman, my eyes roaming his visibly tired face.

“It’s fine, how do you feel?” he asked, gently tugging my hair behind my ear. “Do you need anything?”

“I am really really hungry,” I say, chuckling slightly, before gasping as my babies kicked hard.

They pushed against my tummy, their tiny footprints clearly visible.

Roman smiled, placing his hands untop my tummy.

I smiled also, placing my hands on his.

“I don’t want to waste any more time,” I whispered out, my gaze fixed on our joined hands.

“All those times, I only thought about getting back to you and our baby, it’s the only reason I survived, I can't keep pretending or ignoring how I feel about you.”

Roman didn’t say anything, and the beating of my heart increased painfully, wondering if I had been too late.

He linked our hands together, a wide smile on his face.

“You don’t know how long i have waited to hear you say that. I love you Emily, that’s never going to change.”

“Watching you in that tub, and when your wolf went wild, i can’t even begin to explain the fear I felt, wondering if i made a mistake, allowing you go through with the experiment.”

I wiped the tears slowly spilling out from his eyes, before hugging him tightly.

“I love you too Roman,” I whispered softly, “so, so much.”

Roman laughed out loud at my grumbling stomach. “Ok miss let’s get you and our babies something to eat.”

“Can you stand up? I also really want Anthony to thoroughly check you, we need to make sure everything went well, with no side effects.”

Roman stood up, extending his hands out for me. He helped me stand up, and together we walked out of our room.

This time around, almost every rogue wolf under Anthony’s care were present, making way as me and Roman walked past.

There was something different now, I don’t know how to explain it, but it was like i could see them now, really see them. The connection was different though, I honestly can’t explain it.

“Ah…, my shiny star,” Anthony exclaimed on seeing us, his brother Castor was by his side, regarding me with a prideful expression.

I sat down at the kitchen counter, while Roman sat beside me.

As if Anthony anticipated my hunger, he placed two plates of freshly cooked spaghetti in front of us, his eyes having that mischievous look in them.

I dig in immediately, not even caring about the number of eyes on me.

“Well.., how was it?” Castor asked, folding his hands across his chest.

“How was what?” i asked back, before drinking the glass of water in front of me.

“Limbo,” Castor says, “the other word, where-ever it is you went to.”

“I don’t know,” I told him. “it’s like a dream now, completely forgotten.”

“How do you feel then, stronger, faster, anything?” Anthony asked excitedly. “Cause something is different about you now, we can feel the power radiating from you.”

“I feel different, I can't explain it, but it’s like I can feel most of everyone’s emotions. It’s.,” I trailed off, not knowing the right words to explain how I felt.

“Ok enough questions,” Roman snapped out, glancing from Anthony to Castor. “What we need now is to make sure Emily is alright. No side effects for her, or the babies.”

“Yeah,” Anthony whispered out, “you are right,” he says more clearly. “If you are ready, then let’s proceed to the lab.”

We all stood up, when suddenly I screamed, holding my head as sharp pains stabs my skull.

“What is it?” Roman asked in panic, holding me tightly, looking wide eyed towards Anthony and then me.

“Help me…, please help…”

That voice, I don’t know how I knew, but I needed to help him.

“I have to help him,” I whisper out, clutching Romans hand in mine, i wince at the pain, bitting my lips hard.

“Who, who do you have to help?” Roman asked.

“Killian…,” I gasped out, “I have to help him now.”
