Chapter 58 FIFTY NINE
ROMAN’S POV
Training had been vigorous, as if Mr Castor knew, he wasn’t surprised when the next day, Roman had showed up. He had simply instructed Roman on what he wanted him to do, both of them ignoring what had transpired between them.
“Hey you forgot this,” Roman spoke out, handing back the book he was holding.
“Oh! thank you very much," the boy says, taking the book from Roman.
“It’s fine, my name is Roman and you?”
“Brandon,” the boy says. He thanked Roman again, before hurrying out of their locker room.
So his name was Brandon, that’s good Roman thought, Now his next plan was to get closer to him. All the students that would be participating in the tournament were at the school already. Some were going over their training, while also getting familiar with the place they would be staying till the tournament was over.
Roman had met a few of them, they were pompous assholes. He followed Brandon as he left the locker room, watching as he navigated his way through the mass of students piling around. His face was way softer than the picture Mr Castor had shown him.
Brandon looked no older than eighteen years, yet Roman wondered how he could have gotten into such an organization as the one Mr Castor had described. He honestly didn’t know how he was going to make the boy open up to him, especially since he looked like someone that had undergone numerous training.
Roman wasn’t a friendly person. And if not for Stefan back at the pack, he wasn’t sure he would even talk to anyone. He liked his solitude, and really didn’t see the need for a lot of friends.
He was going to have to find a way to talk to Brandon.
Throughout that day, Roman acted as Brandon's shadow, trailing him everywhere. He needed to know what the guy's purpose was, He sighed as he watched Brandon take down his opponent in seconds. He was currently hiding among the students that had come for training. He had learned that Brandon was training here, and currently he was watching him fight.
Roman wouldn’t say he was the best, but nothing he could do, can compare to the way Brandon was currently fighting. The guy was brutal, his fighting style unique and unmatched.
There was no way Roman could beat him in a fight, which means he really had to find another way to get closer to him. He watched as Brandon fought more opponents, learning his fighting style. If ever they fought against each other, Roman could at least know what to expect.
After they were done with training, Roman sneaked out of the class, before going back to his dorm room.
He took off his clothes, took his shower, before unpacking his bag. Roman made a schedule, he had to replan himself. His main goal was to trail Brandon, if Brandon was here for someone in this school, then trailing him was the best course of action.
Roman wrote down what he would do if he was in Brandon’s position. First off, he would trail who he wanted to kill, that way he could map out the person’s schedule and activities.
Two, if he was here for the Alphas that would be attending the tournament show, then he would also be scouting out the school, that way he knows the best place and position to attack from.
After writing all these, Roman was satisfied with himself. Mr Castor had told him to find out who Brandon was working for, but he never told him what methods to use. Roman didn’t believe that Brandon was the kind of person to open up to someone he just met, and honestly Roman didn’t know the first thing about getting someone to open up to him.
Quite raps at his door made him snap his head towards that direction. Quickly, Roman packed up everything he had been jotting down, before walking towards his door.
Richie stood there, his hands raised as if to knock again.
“Hey!!man,” he greeted, a wide grin on his face. “I hardly see you these days," Richie muttered.
“Yea sorry I have been busy.” Roman says, stepping aside to let Richie in.
He watched as Richie glanced around, before jumping on his bed.
“I can’t believe I have never entered your room before,” Richie says, throwing up the bouncy ball Roman kept on his bed.
“Nothing special about it, what’s going on with you though?”
“I joined the tournament, I didn’t know you could apply for another spot you are good at.”
Roman raised his eyebrows, he didn’t understand why Richie wanted to participate in the tournament at all cost. If not for the information he wanted, Roman wouldn’t even bother.
“What sport are you partaking in?”Roman asked Richie.
“Running, I bet you don’t know this, but I have been praised as the fastest runner in my pack.” I am sure I could run faster than most here, though I don’t know about the others.”
“Hey, do you know we would be competing with the other schools? Hopefully I win something. My father is coming tomorrow, I need to show him how well I am doing here.”
Roman sighed, shifting Richie's leg so he could sit at the edge of his bed. Stefan and his father would be coming for the tournament, along with his family. He also wanted to show them how well he was doing, especially since he has left the pack abruptly.
We should go to the party these newcomers are hosting. Richie spoke out. I need to know more about my opponent, and you should too, I heard most of them are really good at fighting.
Roman agreed immediately, to the surprise of Richie who had prepared himself to convince him. They both dressed up separately, before meeting downstairs.
Together they sneaked out to the forest, before walking towards the cave where the party was being hosted.
“How come they can host parties at our school?” Roman asked Richie.
“Oh no, the seniors are the ones hosting the parties on their behalf, a way to welcome them to our school.”
Roman simply nodded his head. He didn’t know where Richie got his information from, frankly speaking he really didn’t care.
They made small conversations along the way, each with their own purpose in attending this party.
By the time they got there, the party was already in full swing. Richie integrated with the crowd quickly, leaving Roman to stand awkwardly. He shifted to the corner, walking towards where different drinks were. Roman took what he wanted, before observing the crowd.
His eyes searched around, looking for Brandon. He hoped that Brandon was here, if not he had no reason to be.
Brandon was sitting among a group of people, passing a blunt among themselves. Roman watched as Brandon inhaled from the blunt in his hands, before passing it to the girl close to him. Brandon stood up, whispering something to the guy at his other side, before the both of them stood up, walking outside.
Immediately, Roman dropped the drink he was holding, before quietly following them.
Quite whispering, alerted Roman to where they were. He crouched down behind a tree, listening as they both argued fiercely.
“I told you to track him didn’t I, yet here you are,” Brandon spat out harshly.
“Hey! relax ok, I am on his track. I will send everything you need tomorrow. Now lower your voice, before someone hears you,” the other boy whispers.
Roman knew that other boy, he had seen him around the school, which means someone inside this school was working with Brandon.
Roman hid himself, watching as they both walked back to the party.
He needed to find out more about the other guy, that was his ticket to getting more information about Brandon.
