Chapter 29 CHAPTER THIRTY
ROMAN’S POV
Elijah laughed loudly, before growling back at Roman. Can’t you see he says, pointing towards Roman. Does he look like someone in control of his actions?
We need to come together to cut off these spies the Rogues have planted among our midst.
Enough!, Gabriel shouted, standing up as he faced Elijah.
Mr Fisher, Gabriel says, turning towards Roman’s father. The council has come to an agreement, the girl would be allowed to stay, provided you and your family would be willing to take her in.
Her health will be monitored daily and any slight changes will be reported back to Alpha Regan. Is that understood?
Roman sighed in relief, excited with the fact that Emily would be staying with him.
His father nodded, before turning to discuss with his mother.
Come let’s go she called, ushering all of them out of the room while his father stayed behind.
“So am I sharing my room with her?" Bella asked, speaking up.
“Really?” Roman says, irritated. He turns towards Bella looking at her in contempt. “How can you be so self centered?”
That’s enough his mum chastised, glancing at him. Let’s just get home first alright, everything will be sorted out.
They drove home in silence, soft music filling the car. On getting home, Bella ran to her room, no doubt to gist with her friends about everything that had happened.
“Can Emily stay in my room?” Roman asked his mum, seeing no problem with sharing with Emily.
“Of course not,” his mum said, sitting down on one of the kitchen stools. She brings out her phone, flipping through it.
“But why?”Roman persisted, he didn’t understand what the issue was.
His mum sighed, not in the mood to argue with him. Ok she relented, you guys go upstairs please, when your father comes back, we would sort out the living arrangements.
Roman took Emily’s hands, running up the stairs towards his makeshift room.
Once inside, he closes the door, before jumping on the bed. Emily stood at the door, wringing her hands together, as her eyes glanced around the room.
Hey!! it’s ok, come sit, Roman told her, patting the bed.
My room is currently being renovated, once it’s done we can move there, but for now we have to sleep here ok.
Emily shuffled forward, climbing on the bed, letting out a grin as she made herself more comfortable.
“What now?” she asked, looking toward Roman.
Well!! Hopefully the council doesn’t see a reason to make you leave my pack. If they do, then I will run away with you. If not then you can stay with me and my family, and then I will introduce you to all my friends in school.
Eventually when we grow up, I will get married to you.
Emily gasped at that last part, before both of them burst out laughing. Roman smiled, happy that he had gotten her to laugh.
“Do you feel anything?” Roman asked her, wanting to find out why she had behaved in that manner, when the rogue wolf had attacked him.
“Anything like what?” Emily queried, leaning up from the bed.
“Your wolf, Roman clarified, do you feel her at all?”
Emily paused, her hands, holding her small head up as she pondered on his question.
““Before I could feel a presence inside me, even though my wolf never spoke to me, I felt her presence. But now, I feel nothing.””
Roman looked at her with pity, wondering if she had committed an ominous sin in her past life, for the moon goddess to make her go through all this suffering.
““It’s going to be ok,”he said, praying inside that everything works out.
They talked about Emily’s new life within the Silver Crescent pack, planning out everything.
Roman stood up from his bed, setting up his gaming equipment, while Emily watched him. When he was done, he handed her one of his controllers, trying to teach her how to play the game.
They played for a while, Emily learning quickly. Roman raised his head up, at the squeaky sound of his room door opening. He glanced toward his open door, his father stood there, watching them. Roman paused his game, standing up as he walked towards his father.
“Is everything ok dad?” Roman asked, looking up at him.
“Your mum has prepared dinner,” you guys should come downstairs, he says, before leaving them.
Roman follows after his father, Emily, behind him as they walk downstairs. They entered the kitchen where his mum stood with Bella, arranging their food on the table.
Roman took his seat, before gesturing for Emily to sit close to him.
They were not religious, but occasionally, his mum would initiate a quick prayer, before they dug into their food.
Roman closed his eyes, joining his hands with that of Emily, who did the same to his sister. While his mum said a quick prayer, before they all started eating.
“Bella,”his father called, glancing at his sister who was focused on her phone. She looked up, glancing at everyone.
“Yes?” Bella answered.
“You will be sharing your room with Emily till Roman’s old room is done.”
Both Roman and Bella opened their mouths to protest, but his father raised his hands, silencing the both of them.
“I don’t want to hear anything," he spoke. And you Roman he says, glancing toward him. Enough with your attitude lately, do you understand me? Tomorrow, you begin your training.
I do not want to find out you missed a day. if not, goodbye to you seeing Emily do you understand? It’s about time you start acting responsibly.
You need to understand that you will be talking over my position one day, this clingy attitude of yours needs to stop.
Roman looked downward, his appetite gone.
His dad turned towards Bella. Emily is in your care from now on, you report back to me any changes in her breathing, behavior, anything. “Have I made myself clear?”
Bella groaned, before nodding, at the sharp look his father threw her way.
And as for you, he said, turning towards Emily. “No more running away, no more aggressive behavior. You need to be on your best behavior if you intend to remain near Roman or this pack do you understand?”
Emily looks up at him, glancing at me briefly before nodding her head.
Good, because if you don’t behave, then we would have no choice but to banish you away from this pack.
