Chapter 28 CHAPTER TWENTY NINE
EMILY’s POV
Emily rested her back against the kitchen counter, a cup of coffee in her hands, as she thought about what she had discovered yesterday. If truly that was her in that picture, then she was somehow related to this pack.
What did that mean for her? She thought. For so long, she, and others had tried to find out where she was from. They had all given up, and she had moved on with her life. Now this, Why now?
Lately everything in her life was confusing, from her wolf, her babies, Roman, and now this. For a moment, she wanted time to go back to when it was just her, Stefan and Roman. Those were happier days, or had she simply just been ignorant then too.
Emily sighed, sipping the coffee, her eyes glancing at the clock hanging on the far corner of the room. She poured out the now cold coffee, washing the cup, before leaving the house.
She had a lot to do today, she was going to be at the pack’s infirmary with Sheila, and then when Roman was done with work, he would come pick her up so they could go baby shopping.
Emily smiled, no matter how confusing her life was right now, she honestly couldn’t wait to meet her babies.
Good morning, Emily’s voice rang out as she walked into her and Sheila’s office.
She paused, a scowl on her face at the sight before her.
Sheila was attending to Stefan, who was busy, glaring at Roman. They all turned their heads towards her, Emily walked in slowing, trying to gauge the situation.
Why was Stefan still here, she thought. Was he not supposed to have gone back by now?
She dropped her bag on her side of the table, before walking forward.
““Oh thank God, you are here,”” Sheila says, rolling her eyes as Stefan snickers.
““Please attend to Roman, while I deal with him,””she says, pointing towards Stefan.
Emily nodded her head, approaching Roman who was also sporting a black eye, and also a cut on his pink plump lips. Emily gently took his face in her hands, while Roman grinned at her. She hit his shoulder lightly, scolding him before gently treating his injuries.
She didn’t need to ask what happened, it was very obvious that Roman and Stefan had gotten into a fight or something.
Emily!! Stefan draws out, do make sure to control your guard dog he jested, laughing mockingly. Next time, it would be his dead body you receive.
Emily gritted her teeth, wondering how this person here could have ever been her mate. She turned towards Stefan, he is not my guard dog, stop calling him that.
And who knows she says, it might be your dead body Kimberly would be receiving next time.
Roman drags her back. Without meaning to, she had stepped a little closer to Stefan. Emily sighed, resting her back against Roman, his hands firmly on her waist.
“Why are you still here?” she asked a fuming Stefan.
Stefan simply stared at them, his eyes locked on Romans hands round her waist. He gritted his teeth, anger coursing through his veins.
“None of your business he snarled out,” trying to control himself.
Emily simply rolled her eyes. ““It’s not my business, I am just tired of seeing you around. The sooner you leave, then the better.””
Stefan laughs, “oh dear he says, do you really think you would be allowed to stay in this pack for long?” He asked tauntingly.
“You contaminate anywhere you go, and very soon this pack will see you for what you are.” It’s only a matter of time, time you don’t have. Stefan says, as he stands up.
Roman growled warningly at Stefan, standing up equally as they both faced off.
Not in my office Sheila says, standing between them. You want to keep fighting like untrained dogs, then do it outside.
“Watch your mouth,” Stefan sneered at her.
““You don’t tell me what to do,”Sheila sneered back, her face in front of Stefan as they growled at themselves.
Roman dragged Sheila back, pushing her gently behind his back. “Look, he says to Stefan, your wounds are all treated, there is absolutely no reason why you are still here, especially since your presence isn’t welcomed.”
“This is my pack,” Stefan says. I have the right to be anywhere. And you, he says, glancing at Sheila, it’s only a matter of time before these two drag you into their mess.
He glared at each of us, his eyes stopping at my stomach, before marching out, slamming the door behind him.
Emily sighed out in relief, sinking down into the chair closest to her.
“Are you ok?”Roman asked, sitting down beside her.
“Yea,” Emily says, rubbing her forehead.
“I can’t believe you were mated to that jerk,” Sheila says, cleaning up the tools they had used.
“It’s my fault," Emily mutters, "he is like this because of me.”
“What!!!!” both Sheila and Roman exclaim, turning towards her.
Sheila dropped the tools she was holding, before coming close to her.
Look here, she says, her tone firm. You made a drunken mistake that could have been forgiven, he chose instead to break your bond and then banish you from your pack. That’s on him, not you. Not only that, he is married now, not even up to four months of you guys breaking your mate bond.
And don’t say it was because of the alliance, there are other ways to sign an alliance between two packs, especially since they have a common enemy.
Any guilt you have, Sheila continues, should be gone the moment he tried to kill you, and your babies.
From here on out, live your life, and stop dwelling on something that was out of your control.
“Do I make myself clear?” she asked, looking at Emily.
Emily smiled tightly, removing her hands from Roman’s. Sheila was always there for her, meanwhile, she was busy making out with the guy she likes behind her back.
Roman frowned at her action, but didn’t say anything. He wanted to hug her so badly, but for some reason, he felt it wasn’t the right time.
“Thank you Sheila,” Emily says, a firm resolve in her mind. It was high time she figured herself out. She didn’t want to hurt anyone, but with the way things were currently going, Emily was sure she would.
