Chapter 153 CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE

Chapter 153 CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE
ROMAN’S POV

“What…..?” I screeched out.

I hold onto the table in front of me tightly, using it to keep my body from collapsing while panic claws its way through my body.

“I am sorry,” Castor mumbles out, “he died trying to save me”

“And you are just telling me such important information now……” I screamed out, clenching my hands tight.

“I am sorry,” Castor mumbles out tiredly.

“What the fuck do we do now? Emily could be anywhere, and I would not be able to track her. Fuck….”

“It’s fine,” Rachel told me, moving closer, an iPad in her hand.

She showed it to me, pointing at a red dot. “That’s Emily.”

Castor moved closer, staring at the iPad, while I turned towards Rachel in confusion.

“I modified the tracker, it’s like an organism now, undetected. Infact I think we should all have one. I gave one to Sheila with instructions to plant it on Emily. It would do the rest. Thankfully she somehow managed to do that despite the battle earlier. Unfortunately it cost her life.”

I nodded at her, breathing out in relief.

“Alpha George, we would need your ship in a week, it’s going to be a long time on water. We need to go back to our packs, regroup and plan.”

“Whatever support you need, Roman, I will provide.” Alpha George says, glancing at Antonio's passed out body.

“Thank you,” I told him, shaking his outstretched hand.

“Very well we will meet up in a week from now. Me and my warriors will be returning back tonight.” Alpha George says.

“No problem.” I told him. “I think we would also be leaving. No point staying here. We don’t know if more hunters are lurking around, and nobody here can take any more fights.”

Alpha George stayed for a while discussing strategy and stuff before leaving with his warriors that had survived the battle.

Rachel and castor had also left with the captured hunters and Anthony.

I stared at Sheila’s wrapped up body, holding back the tears. My warrior had seen me lose my cool earlier, it wouldn’t hold well for me to cry again.

I sighed, thinking about my twins and the disappointment to know that once again, they would not feel the warm embrace of their mother.

“Luna Roman, we are ready to leave.” Bellamy told me, his eyes briefly glancing at Sheila’s body.

“Has everything been properly cleaned up?” I asked him.

“Yes Luna.” Bellamy says.

“Very well, divide into groups of three. We should start the run back to where our hideout is. From there on we take the cars parked and then drive all the way to the pack.”

“How are we going to transport her body back?” He asked me.

I honestly hadn’t thought that far, but can you really blame me.

I glanced at Bellamy, my eyes flickering briefly to the tired warriors gathered about.

It wasn’t fair to still pile this on them, or find a way to inconvenience them in carrying Sheila’s body home, especially since most of our warriors that had fallen in battle were also their friends, brothers.

I sighed loudly, running my hands through my hair.

“You were right Bellamy.” I mumbled out. “It wouldn’t bode well to come back with Sheila’s body. Gather everyone, let’s pay our final condolences before leaving.”

Bellamy nodded, before leaving to do as I asked.

I found some cloth to wrap Sheila’s body, placing it on some logs of wood I had found, before standing back, staring at my handwork as the resounding footsteps of my warriors came closer.

We gathered around Sheila’s body, just staring at it.

I stepped forward, lighting one of the wood on fire, before stepping back.

“We lost a lot today, our Alpha, friends, brothers. And I know the pain we all carry inside. This is not the end, and the lives buried today will not be in vain. We will go back to our pack, train harder, and then come back to finish what we started. May the souls of our fallen rest with the moon goddess.”

“May they rest in peace.” my warriors screamed out, before howling.

After making sure that nothing was left behind, we began the journey back to our pack.

I was tired and at my wits end by the time we finally arrived at the pack.

Immediately the gate opened up, I could see members of my pack, already gathering to welcome us.

I walked inside, my head held high, although failure gnawed at me from the inside.

I dismissed the warriors, before running home.

I know I needed to call a pack meeting, that was the order of things. But we all needed rest. After all that we just went through, I was sure most just wanted to be with their families.

Immediately I reached the front of my pouch, the door slammed open, the twins now a bit taller than the last time I saw them, rushing forward as they hugged me, their hands running through my furs.

“Now…, let your father rest a bit, freshen up ok.” My dad grumbled out, calling out to the twins. I could see the question in his eyes, but he held himself well, nodding at me.

I shake my furs, before running into the house, changing into my human form immediately I got to our room.

I freshened up, almost tempted to just fall into bed, sniffing Emily’s clothes.

Instead I gathered my strength. Now was not the time, I needed to be strong for my kids, and the pack.

I walked downstairs, the smell of freshly cooked food all over the house.

The dinner was set already, everyone already seated.

I took my chair at the head of the table, giving my mum a small smile at her worried look.

“Mummy didn’t come back, the bad man took her.” Kathleen whispered out, her big beautiful eyes staring at me.

I reached across the table, opening up my hands. Both Kathleen and Andrew took my hands, staring at me. I looked at my parents, before turning towards my twins.

“I will get her back sweetie.” I say with strength and sound confidence. “No matter what.”
