Chapter 144 Where Exactly Is She Arrogant

Chapter 144 Where Exactly Is She Arrogant

When Rebecca walked into Forever, there were only a handful of customers in the lobby.

A couple who looked like they were about to get married based on their age.

Two other girls who seemed to be close friends.

Behind the counter, a clerk in a black uniform wearing white gloves was taking out jewelry pieces for customers to try on.

Since Frederick hadn't arrived yet, Rebecca headed straight to the custom-made section to admire the new works by Forever's master designers.

Master craftsmanship—truly extraordinary.

Her mind, foggy from several days of high fever, was like a night sky that suddenly lit up with brilliant stars as she gazed at the pieces in the display cases.

When laughter reached her ears, Rebecca was intently studying a particular jewelry set.

A bracelet made of emerald green gemstones.

With a matching necklace and earrings.

Deep and elegant.

"Rebecca, nowadays all you can do is look."

"Exactly... But Rebecca, I actually admire you. If my family went bankrupt, I wouldn't have the courage to walk into Forever to admire jewelry."

The word "admire" was said with particular emphasis, as if the speaker was certain Rebecca couldn't afford anything.

Rebecca turned around to see two faces with bright smiles—the kind you see on social media influencers.

The one wearing a white mink coat looked somewhat familiar. She seemed to be called Jasmine Grayson, a minor celebrity from Dennis's company. Unfortunately, despite spending big money to promote her, she didn't make much of a splash—she bounced around on trending topics for a while and then faded away.

Rebecca had attended a party in the penthouse presidential suite before, where this woman had spoken in that same sarcastic tone.

Just by looking at people's reactions, it was obvious that Jasmine liked Dennis. Too bad Dennis had a fiancée, and the Getty family and the Johnson family were a perfect match, so she could only talk big.

The other one was Amanda Wallace from the wealthy Wallace Family.

Word in their circle was that the Taylor family and the Wallace Family were planning a marriage alliance between Amanda and Oscar from the Taylor family.

Because of this, whenever they ran into each other at elite gatherings, Amanda would mock Isabella with snide remarks, as if doing so would make Oscar see her differently.

"Are you the owner of Forever?"

Rebecca slowly straightened up and asked.

Jasmine froze, a flash of embarrassment crossing her eyes. "No."

"Then, are you a shareholder?"

"No."

"That's strange then..."

Rebecca looked puzzled. "Even the Forever staff haven't said I can't admire things here. You're neither the owner nor a shareholder—what gives you the right to tell me what to do?"

Jasmine's expression soured. Glaring at Rebecca's face, she looked like she wanted to pounce and scratch it. "Rebecca, I used to respect you because of Mr. Johnson. But now, you're no longer Mrs. Johnson, and the Getty family has fallen. What are you being so cocky about?"

Rebecca fell silent.

Could someone please tell her—where exactly was she being cocky?

Too lazy to deal with someone who couldn't speak properly, Rebecca turned around and continued examining the jewelry set she hadn't finished looking at.

Behind her, Amanda patted Jasmine's hand to calm her down, then glanced at the clerk standing beside Rebecca. "That jewelry set—wrap it up for me."

"Of course, just a moment..."

The clerk nodded and went straight to open the display case, taking out the emerald green jewelry set that Rebecca had been studying closely.

Rebecca's eyes lit up.

Turning back around, Rebecca met Amanda's smug expression.
