Chapter 193 Crash-Out
Chapter 193 Crash-Out
The next morning, news of Brie and Alex’s engagement spread like wildfire across the internet. It began with a single post — Alex’s hand entwined with Brie’s, the ring glittering on her finger. The caption was simple, heartfelt, and devastating to some: “I’m glad you chose me. Forever yours.” He tagged her handle, and within minutes, the image was everywhere.
Fans flooded the comments with congratulations, while some, determined to know who the mystery lady was, went to Brie’s page.
Brie looked at the trendy posts, then at Alex, who was naked beneath the white duvet. His hands lazily traced circles between her thighs.
“You do know they would dig about my past—with Jeff.” She chewed on her bottom lip. Alex supported himself up with an elbow resting on the bed for support while he took the phone from her, placing it randomly away from her.
“If that happens, the PR team will handle the story. Whatever they try to weave. I told you, Brie, I will protect us and everything we have. No one is coming between us.”
Brie gave him a shy smile. “Fine, I trust you. Her gaze lingered on his charming eyes before settling on the rose Alex had just picked out of her hair. “We left the party last night. Do you think it was rude? I eman—we left all the guests.”
Alex chuckled, resting on his back as he pulled her on top of him. ‘The guests will be fine. Pierre and Amber handled everything. Now stop worrying, and come here. Someone wants you so bad already.”
Brie chuckled. Her face flushed a deep shade of red as she felt the bulge against her entrance. “You—” she let out a dreamy sigh the moment he slipped further as he pulled her into a sitting position. Slowly, Brie glided against his thighs, taking in the way his eyes seemed to swim with emotion. She knew she was getting to him, and he was liking every bit of it.
“gods, Brie. I could get used to you taking me like this.”
Across town, Sienna threw her phone against the cold tiles. It landed with a loud thud. There was no mistaking that the screen had cracked.
Her manager had been in her room for two hours now, talking about the way forward, her contracts, and her dwindling popularity, and most especially the company's displeasure of having to pay a significant sum of money to Brie after being sued by Titan Group on behalf of their employee. Now, she was going to have to work harder for that money, and since she didn’t have a good footing in the industry, having been away for quite a while and with the last image she created before she left the scene, most top agencies refused to feature her on their shows. She had managed to gain a few after the media rounds, where she feigned to be back with Alex, but now, they had all pulled out. Now the agency only had low-budget runway shows and low-budget ad commercials in cities that held no name and no presence.
As if that were not enough, Alex had just announced his engagement to Brie to the whole world. She had lost everything. She came back for her man, and she was too late.
“Sienna,” her manager spoke carefully, “calm down. This isn’t the time to be erratic. You have too many on your plate right now.”
Sienna’s jaw clenched. “Calm down? He’s flaunting her openly. Who does she even think she is? Does she even deserve him?”
Her manager sighed, rubbing her temples. Sienna was an impossible star to manage. She still thought she was the HIT girl. She forgets she is older now, and the industry has moved like the wind. One minute, the stakes were in your favour, and the next, some nobody from some backwater street was the sensation. Besides, Sienna had ruined her career herself. Openly fighting with her then manager for choosing someone else for the star lead, not to mention the messy private affair and the drugs. People in their circle also knew of the crazy parties she attended. She had no control. If not for Alex’s intervention, she would have been completely out of the industry, and yet, she still seemed to be stuck in her bubble.
“Your career is on the line here. Do you understand that? The public still thinks your relationship with Alex is good. They don’t know the truth, and that’s to your advantage. If you lash out now, you’ll destroy whatever goodwill you have left.”
But Sienna wasn’t listening. Her fury was consuming her, drowning out reason. She paced the room, her heels clicking against the polished floor. “I won’t sit here and watch him humiliate me and parade her like she is the most important thing in his life. I should be the most important person in his life. I was once, and I can be again.”
Her manager’s patience thinned. Her voice rose, sharper now. “Do you intend to lose it all? Because that’s exactly where you’re headed. The management has already lost a significant sum paying for your lawsuit. They’re thinking of cutting you loose, Sienna. Do you realise how close you are to being replaced?”
The words hit her like a slap. She froze, her eyes narrowing. “Is that why you’ve been giving me cheap roles? Runway features in unknown countries? You expect me to degrade myself with scraps while others get the spotlight? I won’t do it.”
“If that’s the case, then you’d better be ready to pay the company double for everything they’ve invested in you. Because I’m done fighting for you, and I’m done cleaning up your messes.”
She grabbed her folder, her movements brisk and final. “You want to throw away your career? Fine. But don’t drag me down with you.”
With that, she stormed out, leaving the door swinging shut behind her.
Sienna stood in the silence, her chest heaving, her teeth gritted so tightly her jaw ached. The rage inside her had nowhere to go. She began smashing the things in the room, hurling vases, sweeping off cosmetics off the vanity, sending bottles crashing to the floor. She proceeded to rip the bedsheets apart and tear through the clothes in her closet furiously as though somehow, her actions would let go of the pent-up rage inside her. IN the midst of the chaos, she heard her phone vibrating beneath the mess on the floor. Still fuming, she reached for it and paused. It was a message from someone she didn’t know. She fumbled with the screen of her phone, which was already acting up due to the damage. After what seemed like numerous frustrating trials, the screen responded, and she finally saw the message.
It was simple and direct.
If you want to break up Alex and Brie, then we should meet.
