3- The Twins' Father
One year passed since I slept with a stranger. My life emotionally turned upside down when I found out I was pregnant by my alpha father. I am forced to leave the pack and live my life in the new place with my babies.
The entire surroundings are different from where I used to live before. Since that heart-breaking moment, I lived like an ordinary and low-born werewolf among the rest. The only friend who has helped me since I gave birth is Allison, a childhood best friend of mine.
Inside a small shed, Allison is sitting on the wooden bench in front of me. She scoffs and throws a small stone into nowhere. Then looked at her face with a smile on my lips.
"Hey, aren't you going to find the twins' father?" Allison asks despite knowing the answer.
I smile sweetly while watching the twins peacefully sleeping. I once looked for that stranger as soon as I got pregnant, but he never showed up. I failed to meet the father of my children.
I know it wasn't just his fault that the twins were born. We made love that night and got separated the next morning.
"I'm happy with my children," I reply and look at Allison with a blank space on my face. "I don't want to disappoint myself even more."
Allison doesn’t get it. The entire pack is looking for the twins' father, She looks worried about how I live by myself and raise two babies at the same time.
Aside from struggles, Allison can’t handle the rumors that spread throughout the entire place. They were telling lies about me that I’m a flirt who slept with different men every single night.
What happened to me was my karma like what others thought about me.
"Stop being dramatic! You should look for him again, it's not easy to raise the twins from the very beginning!" Allison closes her fists and tries to convince me.
Unfortunately, it didn't change anything. I decide to live with my children without their father. Everyone abandons me because of a mere mistake. My father, my siblings, and the entire pack. They were disappointed in me.
I tried to prove they were all wrong and thought the father of my babies would marry me despite what happened. For the entire month, I searched every corner of the town where I met the mysterious, hot stranger.
However, the stranger is nowhere to be seen. I’m so confused and desperate until I remember where he lives. With hopes within my heart, I tell my father to accompany me and meet the man who’s responsible for the babies within my womb.
That same day, we went to the house, but no one comes out. Until someone told us that the owner sold the house a few days ago. Everything has been ruined since that day. I couldn't believe how a simple thing would change my life forever.
Even though many years have passed, my alpha father felt the same resentment and anger toward me for damaging our family's reputation and dignity.
Despite being abandoned, I live a simple and happy life. I never let myself get affected by the rumors about me and how everyone looked for the twins' father.
By then, I take a deep breath when one of the twins wakes up. I quickly take the milk from the top of the table and give it to the hungry baby.
"Can you see how adorable she is?" I ask my friend who is silently watching her feeding the baby.
I pouted my lips like a little kid. She didn't want to lose Allison too like everyone did one year ago.
She lifts her arms into the air and replies, "Alright, I surrender! I'll look for their father as soon as possible. Are you happy now?"
The baby suddenly giggles as soon as she hears about her father. It brings hope to my heart that finding the twins' father is possible.
"See that? Even your baby is excited to meet her father and you're selfish not to do something for them!" Allison crosses her arms and walks closer to the baby.
She takes the bottle of milk from my hand and feeds the adorable little girl.
"Are you excited to meet your father, aren't you? Don't worry, I'll help your mom to find him. Just stay healthy, okay?"
As a friend, Allison wants the best for them. She witnessed how I begged and asked for another chance to prove my worth, but no one believed in me anymore.
Allison knows what I had gone through to save and born the twins into this cruel, yet beautiful world. I decided to leave the place where I was born for the sake of my new gems.
My determination convinces Allison to stay by my side until the twins' father shows up. It was the only promise she gave to me that cold, lonely night.
Next to Allison, I smile, watching how the twins grow bigger every single day. I couldn't wait to hear them calling me "Mama."
It is just a typical, warm day until someone knocks on the door. Allison oddly stares at me as if we both have no idea of what is going on outside.
Allison gasped, "Check it, I'll look after the twins."
"I'm the mother, I'm supposed to do that!" Therese reply.
However, someone keeps knocking on the door. It gives us a hint that something terrible might happen again.
"Therese!"
"Open the door! I know you're there!"
I gulped and replied, "What's going on? And who are you? I won't open the door if you don't tell me your name!"
"It's me, Grega! Someone is looking out for you!"
As soon as we hear Grega's name, we both sigh in relief. We thought it was someone sent by my alpha father to kill the twins.
"You should have said it earlier, Grega!" Allison shouts at the top of her lungs.
By then, I carried one of the twins while Allison did the same thing to the twin brother. We walk toward the door without anything else in our minds. We are thinking it is merely a visitor or perhaps a family member who has finally forgiven her.
Without any hesitation, I unlock the door and open it widely. I smile widely when Grega shows me a bowl of fresh tangerines and a big fresh, huge fish.
Grega smiled sweetly at me.
"Well, I have something else to show you."
"Come inside and place them on the table. I'll pay you once I get my salary next Sunday!" I quickly reply.
Until a familiar man speaks behind Grega.
"It's been a while, young lady." The man is standing firm on the ground.
He looks so familiar that shocks the hell out of me.
"It's... It's... It's you!" I stutter.
I can’t believe what I’m seeing right now! Am I daydreaming? Is it a dream? Please, don’t wake me up!
"It's me and I am the father of your babies." The man replied which surprised Grega, Allison, and me.
