The Wedding (II)
“No, let me go!”
“Everyone is waiting for me! Please, I’m begging you to stop!”
I tried to escape the second time around, but I failed. Desperation forced me to do everything to make it to my wedding. I would do anything, no matter what it took.
My chest was heavy, making it hard for me to breathe. Until I heard someone’s voice echo around.
“Therese!”
“Wake up! Therese, you’re dreaming!”
When I opened my eyes, I realized that it was only a bad dream. I saw Allison, chasing her breath like me.
She said, “What happened? You look like a mess now!”
I narrowed my eyebrows and looked her straight in the eyes.
“It was a bad dream,” I said.
Allison walked closer and wiped the tears away. She told me everyone was waiting for me, especially Trevor.
“Hold my hand,” she mumbled.
Without any hesitation, I took her hand. I was happy that everything was a nightmare. I didn’t know what would happen if someone truly abducted me on the special day of my life.
“Here comes the bride!”
My heart pounded too fast. I couldn’t believe one of my dreams finally came true, as marrying the father of the twins was impossible.
But Trevor made everything possible. Since he came back to my life, a lot of beautiful moments have happened. From meeting and earning my father’s trust to being my mate for eternity.
“This is surreal!” I whispered, closing my eyes for a second, and cherished the cold breeze touching against my bare skin.
When I opened my eyes, I only saw Trevor standing at the altar. He looked at me, smiling, and made me the happiest bride in the whole universe.
Slowly, like the background music, I walked into the aisle without looking away from him. Trevor was the only man I could see. He became my world, and no one could change it.
“You’re stunning as ever, my beloved daughter.”
With a sweet smile on his lips, my father greeted me. Then he took my hand as we walked toward the groom, who had been waiting for a decade.
To make my wedding day special, I smiled back at him. I kept my real feelings, and played with the fire instead.
“My pleasure, father. Thank you for everything you have done for me.” I replied.
He tilted his head, taking a deep, long breath.
Then I saw how father wiped off the tip of his eyes, convincing me how happy he was for me and for Trevor.
“I never thought my dream would come true,” he whispered.
I knew walking with me in the aisle was one of his dreams. My father would tell me about it every single time, which annoyed me. I hated it, but not until this moment happened.
Suddenly, my heart stopped beating when we finally reached the end. Father looked at Trevor for a second. I held back my breath, until I saw a wide smile on his lips.
Then he took and tapped Trevor’s hand.
He said, “I am giving you permission to take care of my beloved daughter. Promise me that you will never hurt her, or else I will take Therese away from you.”
As a promise, Trevor bowed before my father and took my hand.
“I will treasure the trust you have given me, Lord Thomas. I will never waste it, and I promise to take care of her until the day of my demise.”
Trevor never failed to amaze me. He did everything to make up for the times that he missed and win my heart. I would never regret marrying him before my father, relatives, and the entire pack.
“I’m counting on you, young man.”
Father answered back.
Embraced with joy and happiness, Trevor kissed my hand. He looked at me, telling me how long he had waited for this moment.
“Shall we?” He asked.
As a response, I tilted my head.
It was hard for me to utter a single word, fearing that I might burst into tears.
While walking into the aisle, my stomach filled with thousands of butterflies. My hands were shaking, like a teenager who had finally met the love of her life.
Trembling out of excitement, Trevor noticed how nervous I was. He then held my hand tightly, telling me to calm down. I felt safe, and it was the best thing he could do for me.
After a few minutes, we finally reached our destination.
As part of our tradition, the oldest living man in the pack would lead our wedding ceremony. Lord Gabon started with beautiful wisdom before giving us the moment to say our vows.
“May heaven and earth protect your peaceful marriage.”
Lord Gabon spoke.
Silence echoed around. It was one of the ways to manifest a long and strong bond between the alpha and his mate.
“May the heavens, earth, and universe hear my prayers.” I whispered into the thin air.
Right then, Lord Gabon gave us the moment for our vows. It was the moment I had been waiting for, making me the happiest luna.
“I, Trevor Gulfen, promise to love and protect Therese Havine as my luna for the rest of my life. Since the first time I met you, I knew you were the one. I may not be perfect, but I promise to do everything to make you and our children happy.”
He spoke and put the ring on my finger.
Listening to his voice made me emotional. Every word he said was pure, filling the emptiness in my heart and soul.
Overwhelmed, tears flowed down my cheeks.
As quick as a flash of lightning, Trevor wiped it away.
“You’re still stunning when you cry!” He mumbled, melting my heart away.
I sniffed and took a deep breath before saying my vow.
“I, Therese Havine promise to love and take care of Trevor Gulfen as my alpha for the rest of my life. I promise to be a loyal, faithful, and loving mother to our children. You are my only mate until I die.”
I spoke, then put the ring on his finger.
Trevor and I couldn’t stop staring at each other. We're excited to spend the entire night dancing and having fun with the pack.
This time, Lord Gabon smiled. He then turned his gaze to Trevor and tilted his head.
“I may now pronounce you husband and wife,” he paused.
“You can now kiss the bride.”
Everyone went wild, waiting for our first kiss as husband and wife.
“Kiss the bride!”
“Kiss the bride!”
Trevor cupped my face for a second. He looked nervous as his shoulders shivered, making it obvious.
He then leaned closer and sealed me with a passionate kiss I would never forget.
“I love you, Therese. I could no longer wait to make love with you tonight.” Trevor spoke between the kisses.
I was about to respond when he kissed me once again, which took my breath away.
