I stood on the porch for a moment, lost in thought. The events of the night played through my mind, like a movie reel. The words that had been spoken, the actions that had been taken, and the feelings that had been shared.

I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. I opened my eyes again, and looked out at the night sky, feeling grateful for the unexpected turn of events.

As I turned towards the door, I felt a strange jolt in my chest. It was like an electric current had run through me, jolting me awake. I stood there, frozen in place, unsure of what to do.

I had the sudden, inexplicable feeling that something important was about to happen. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I couldn't seem to catch my breath.

I reached for the doorknob, my hand shaking slightly as I turned it.

The door opened, and I stepped inside,

I crept up the stairs, pausing to listen for any sound that might indicate I had been heard. But all was quiet, and I made it to the top of the stairs without incident. I exhaled, releasing the tension that had been building in my body.

I made my way up the stairs, my steps light and cautious. I reached my bedroom door, and turned the handle slowly, easing it open. The room was dark and still, and I could see the outline of my bed in the moonlight streaming in through the window.

As I closed the door, I heard the click of a light switch, and the room flooded with light. I turned and saw Amelia sitting in the corner of the room, her face stern and her eyes fixed on me.

I felt my heart sink, and my mouth went dry. I swallowed hard, trying to find the words to explain my absence.

"Where have you been?" my mother asked, her voice stern. I took a deep breath and began to speak.

"I... I can explain," I stammered.

"I went out to clear my head," I said, my voice faltering.

"I didn't mean to worry you. I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I was going." Amelia’s expression stiffened, as she got up from her chair.

“Who was that, that just dropped you off," she asked,

I stammered, trying to find a way out of the situation.

"It... it wasn't what you think," I said, my voice faltering.

"It wasn't a person. I... I don't know how to explain it." Amelia's face then burst into laughter,

“You should have seen your face. You looked lost.” I frowned,

“C'mon, stop it.” I went over to my bed to sit down.

“But who is he?” She asked if she was getting curious to know.

I paused then blushed, the feeling was beautiful, I was feeling alive again.

“The man that came earlier when I was not home,” I said, she looked at me with a suspicious look,

“Don't look at me that way, Nanny.” My face turned crimson red like I was blushing. My face was red from embarrassment, she saw everything.

“Well, do be careful.” She finally said then walked over to me kissing me on my forehead.

“You've grown so much..not my baby from back then.”

“Thank you, Nanny. You should get some sleep.”

“I think that should be directed to you. You were out most of the night. I'll see you tomorrow morning.” She said then walked out of my room, I watched her go, I couldn't help but be grateful, Amelia and Arthur were the only sources of my Joy right now.

As I lay in bed, my mind was racing. I kept replaying the events of the night over and over again, trying to make sense of it all. I kept going over and over the encounter with the mysterious figure, trying to find an explanation for what had happened. I tried to convince myself that it had been a dream or a hallucination.

As the minutes passed, my eyes grew heavy and I began to drift off to sleep. My thoughts slowed, and I felt myself slipping into a state of deep relaxation. I felt myself begin to sink into the bed, my body growing heavy and still.

My breathing slowed, and my mind grew calm. I was finally able to let go of the events of the night and allow myself to rest. I let my mind drift, and I drifted off into a deep and peaceful sleep.

………

The sun streamed through my window, and I opened my eyes, feeling well-rested and invigorated. I sat up in bed, stretching my arms over my head. I felt a sense of contentment wash over me, and a smile spread across my face. I couldn't explain why, but I felt different than I had the day before. It was as if a weight had been lifted, and I felt a sense of clarity and purpose that I hadn't felt in a long time.

I threw on my clothes and went downstairs, eager to start the day. I walked into the kitchen to see Berlin preparing my coffee. I was greeted by both the smell of fresh coffee and Berlin. She poured me a cup,

“Thank you, Berlin,” I said to her as I took a long, slow sip.

"Good morning, sweetheart!" Amelia said, her face lighting up as she saw me. I wrapped my arms around her, giving her a big hug.

"Good morning, Nanny!" I said, my voice full of enthusiasm. The butler stood behind her, I could tell he was surprised by my cheerful mood, but Amelia smiled and returned my hug.

“I have to go prepare for the office now,” I said to her, leaving her

“Ms. Knowles seems extra happy today," the butler said, a curious look on his face.

“She's just happy ” I heard Amelia say, I beamed as I took another sip and walked into my room.
