Chapter 35
...
THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.
Luna found herself holding her breath, her eyes widening as her husband effortlessly toyed with her emotions. The faint curve of his lips, the devastating handsomeness of his face...
even the simple act of removing his glasses made her heart race.
“I’ve been thinking about it… seriously,” Matthias continued, his tone deliberate, making Luna blink in confusion.
What could possibly be so important that he had to think about it that seriously?
“About what, Sir?” Luna asked, unable to hide her curiosity. Her round eyes blinked innocently, a sight Matthias found far too endearing.
“This… ‘Sir.’” Matthias frowned slightly, clearly displeased. “I don’t like you calling me that. You’re not my servant, and you’re not just my subordinate. Even if you work under me here, you are my wife.”
His gaze sharpened as he leaned closer.
“That means you should call me something more romantic… like ‘darling,’ or ‘my love,’ or something like that.”
He said it with complete confidence,
as if it were the most natural, reasonable request in the world.
“Hah?!”
Luna’s mouth fell open, her brain going blank for a few seconds.
“That’s what you were thinking so seriously about? Did I hear that wrong?” she burst out, utterly incredulous.
“Hm.” Matthias’s brows drew together, clearly growing even more annoyed at being called “Sir.”
“Babe…” he murmured, his fingers brushing lightly over his own lips before his gaze darkened, his presence turning sharper—more dominant.
“Call me ‘Sir’ one more time,” he whispered, voice low and dangerous, “and I’ll put you on that desk, strip you bare, and make you scream loud enough for everyone outside to hear.”
The words hit her like a shockwave.
Luna’s imagination betrayed her instantly, painting the scene far too vividly.
Her lips pressed together, her face burning.
“W-What?! That’s way too brutal! I don’t want that happening!”
She shook her head quickly, her cheeks flushed deep red.
“Then call me something sweet. I’ll count to three…”
His voice dropped, slow and deliberate.
“One…”
Luna panicked.
Completely overwhelmed by embarrassment—and the very real threat—she didn’t even think.
Before he could continue, she blurted out in a rush, her survival instinct kicking in at full force—
“Babe! Babe! Darling! Honey, what else... my love?!”
The words tumbled out of her mouth in rapid succession.
Not because she wanted to...
but because she desperately wanted to avoid what he had just described.
This time, it was Matthias who went still.
Completely silent.
Because hearing her call him that...
“Babe, Darling, My love!”—
sent a surge of heat straight through him.
THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.
His heart pounded violently, his cheeks flushing slightly as he swallowed hard.
His breathing grew heavier, warmer, and almost without thinking, the hand resting at her waist slipped beneath her clothes, brushing against her back in slow, deliberate strokes.
Luna immediately tensed.
“S—Sir… I mean—babe?! What are you doing?”
“You said if I called you that, you wouldn’t do anything like that!” she protested, trying to push him away.
But instead of stopping, Matthias’s lips curved into a wicked smile.
“My wife is teasing me,” he murmured near her ear. “As your husband, it’s my duty to respond to that teasing… so don’t blame me, babe.”
His words left Luna completely speechless.
“Hah? Teasing? When did I...”
“Mmmph!”
Her breath hitched, her eyes squeezing shut as Matthias pressed a kiss to her forehead, his hand continuing its dangerously playful movement beneath her clothes.
She already knew where this was going.
If it continued... that kiss would slowly travel downward…
And just as he leaned in closer...
Knock. Knock. Knock.
“Sir, the meeting with Warren Company is about to begin.”
Frank’s voice came from outside, breaking through the tension.
Matthias froze.
His breath was still warm against Luna’s skin, their faces far too close.
“Haaah… Baby, it seems we’ll have to postpone this,” he murmured, pressing a light kiss to her cheek. “If I keep going, I won’t be able to stop… and this meeting is important. Wait for me here.”
If he kissed her lips now...
he knew he wouldn’t hold back.
Luna, already mortified beyond words, didn’t respond. She quickly slipped out of his hold and hurried back to her desk.
Then...
“Mmmpph!”
She collapsed face-first onto the desk, hiding her burning face beneath her hair.
“What kind of life am I even living…” she muttered under her breath, overwhelmed by everything she had just experienced.
Meanwhile, Matthias simply chuckled softly.
He stood up, adjusting his suit, clearly pleased after seeing his wife’s adorably flustered reaction.
“I’ll go to the meeting now, baby…” he said before walking out of the room.
The moment the door closed...
Luna shot upright and started punching the air repeatedly.
“Pervert!”
“PERVERRRTTT!” she mouthed silently, trying to vent her embarrassment.
Still not fully calmed down, she grabbed her phone, scrolling through the flood of new messages.
And then...
“Hah?” Her brows furrowed as she saw a message from her stepsister, Diana.
The tone was unusually gentle.
Suspiciously so.
Luna narrowed her eyes.
She knew it, there had to be something behind it.
