Chapter 16
Chapter 16
I don't know how long I was unconscious or how many times drifted in and out of sleep, but I knew there was a time I saw Ryan towering over me.
His strong arms were wrapped tight around me. My limbs felt heavy and my muscles ached as he carried me out of his car and towards what looked like a cabin.
"Where are we going?" I remember asking as I leaned against his broad chest. It was warm and inviting. He didn't reply.
Instead I heard him murmur about how stubborn I was.
The last thing I recalled before falling asleep again was the sound of fire crackling and the smell of wood burning.
When I woke up, I felt wrapped around something. Something strong and warm and also firm. I moaned and wiggled. My muscles still ached, but I wasn't shivering and shaking anymore. I stayed still to let the clouds vacate my mind and my body. I had no idea where I was or what time it was. All I knew was that someone was holding me close.
I moved my hands to figure out who it was. I rubbed my face against the nape of his neck and inhaled his scent. He smelled like a man should smell; masculine and natural.
I pushed against him and got a little more distance. Ryan's sleepy face looked down at me. He was just waking up and he looked exhausted. His hair was mussed up and I could see dark circles under his eyes.
"Ryan?" I pulled the blanket covering me to my chest.
He didn't respond. He was still asleep. He looked peaceful. His face was relaxed and his breathing was steady. Then, the realization hit me. I was naked and in bed with Ryan.
How did that happen? My cheeks turned red. I couldn't believe it. I looked around. Where was I? This wasn't Ryan's dorm room. It was a bedroom.
It was huge and furnished. There were wooden furniture, a king-sized bed, and a fireplace. I saw a door that probably led to the living room and a window. There were huge artistic paintings too. There was a TV and a stereo system. This place looked like a vacation house or something. It was warm and cozy.
" Ryan?" I shook him lightly.
"Hmmm...." he replied and stirred.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You fainted." He whispered, his eyes still closed.
"What? Why?"
"You were out in the rain. It was pouring and freezing. You got sick." He answered, his voice soft and raspy.
He opened his eyes and sat up. He moved closer towards me and cupped my face.
"Your lips were blue and you were trembling uncontrollably." He continued. "You had a fever. I was so worried." He told me.
I swallowed. Ryan was being sweet. So sweet. He cared. His eyes were filled with concern and fear. And his voice made me feel safe and secure underneath his touch.
"A..And why am I naked?" I asked, remembering that I had no clothes on.
"You were soaked and freezing. I couldn't let you stay like that. So, I took off your clothes and covered you in blankets and we are both men" He said.
"Oh." I mouthed and pursed my lips. That was really nice of him.
"I tried to get your temperature down and make you warm. But it wasn't enough. So, I decided to warm you up with my body heat." He explained.
Having Ryan close to me while I was practically naked and feverish. It sounded like the perfect recipe for disaster. His lips looked so kissable and the way he spoke to me at that moment. The drop in his tone and the huskiness of his voice, made me feel weak and tingly. I shook my head, trying to get the nasty thoughts out of my mind.
"Where are we?" I inquired.
"We are at the cabin. My family owns this place. It's private and isolated. I thought it was the best place for you to get better. No one would disturb us." He said, stroking my hair.
Ryan moved his hand down to my neck and started massaging the knots in my shoulders. I moaned. His hands felt so good. I could feel his gaze move from my face to my body.
"Ryan." I gasped, pulling the blankets tighter around me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Stop looking at me. Don't look." I cried.
Ryan laughed.
"Why not? It's not like I haven't seen them before and we are men no need to be shy. Your body is gorgeous, by the way. They are perfect." He complimented, his voice low and sexy.
I blushed. My cheeks were red and burning.
"They are not." I denied.
"Yes, they are. You're beautiful, Liam." He breathed.
He leaned forward and brushed his lips against mine. My heart skipped a beat. His breath was hot and smelled minty. I closed my eyes and savored his taste.
"Your body is so beautiful. It's perfect. You're perfect. " He whispered against my lips.
His hand reached for the back of my neck and he pulled me closer, deepening the kiss. I felt like my whole body was on fire. It was as if a million butterflies were dancing in my stomach.
"Oh, Ryan." I moaned.
His tongue explored my mouth. His lips moved hungrily against mine. His hand slipped under the covers and rested on my breast. I gasped. "I've wanted you for so long. Since the very first day I met you." He confessed.
He moved his hand down and caressed my stomach. I shivered. His fingers traced my skin and slowly went lower. "No. Wait. Stop." I said. "I'm angry at you.". I had suddenly remembered what happened.
What he did. How he humiliated me in front of Brandon. All the things he said. I wasn't going to forgive him just because he saved my life and brought me to a secluded cabin in the middle of nowhere.No. Even if he looked so hot and sexy right now with his messy hair and shirtless body, I was still angry at him. He hurt my feelings and I hated him.
"Why are you angry at me? What did I do?" He asked, confused.
"You're an asshole, that's what you did. You humiliated me in front of Brandon and your friends. You treated me like shit. Or have you forgotten." I yelled.
I started climbing out of the bed, but Ryan grabbed my elbow and brought me back.
"I'm sorry." He apologized.
I rolled my eyes.
"Save it, Ryan. Not only that, you made it very clear that I'm just a conquest for you. Just a fling. A one-night stand. Nothing more. And the fact that you actually thought I'd be willing to have sex with you is unbelievable." I rambled, crossing my arms across my chest. I could see Ryan clenching his jaw and narrowing his eyes.
He ran his hand through his wet hair and let out a sigh.
"That was stupid of me, Liam .I know. I shouldn't have said that. But what do you want me to say?" He asked.
He let go of me and rested his head against the pillow. He seemed exhausted and frustrated.
"You're pretty. Beautiful. Smart. A guy like you would never go out with a guy like me." He said.
He breathed deeply and turned to me.
"Do you want to know why I got mad? Why I told Brandon everything?" He asked.
