Chapter 210 210
Chapter 210 210
And there I stood, barely recognizing myself.
A stunning fitted gown with a voluminous tulle skirt, embroidered all over with stones and pearls. The corset was made of semi-transparent fabric, densely embroidered across the bust and downwards, creating the illusion of a bodice and clinging like a second skin. My hair was lightly gathered, but long locks flowed freely down my back.
“Girls, there are so many people out there!” I stared in horror at the crowds swarming the palace grounds. “Maybe we shouldn’t…”
“Kays?” Laverna laughed.
“No—the wedding,” I fidgeted nervously with my skirt. “I’ll kidnap the groom and we’ll get married somewhere in a quiet little temple…”
“Gerald tried really hard,” Iolanta noted. “Make the old man happy. But if you need to kidnap the groom—I’m in.”
“Iza,” Lavi stepped closer, looking straight into my eyes. The girls were wearing elegant, beautiful dresses. “Just look at your man, and the rest of the world will stop existing. Nothing else matters—Kays will be there.”
And that’s exactly how it was.
When I saw my beloved dark-haired man at the altar, I forgot how to breathe, drowning in his light-gray, dearest eyes. He looked at me with adoration, tenderness, admiration, and unmistakable love. He was dressed in royal attire, tailored to emphasize every line of his strong, perfect body—and my lower belly responded with a growing, aching pull.
And this Apollo is mine?!
MINE. And I am HIS.
Kays held out his hand, and I clutched it, unable to tear my gaze away from his eyes. My soul and heart were tearing apart with overwhelming feelings for this… arrogant guardian, fearless mage, and my king.
I didn’t hear what was happening around us, what Gerald was saying. I didn’t see the crowds of onlookers and guests watching so intently. We had our own world, where we spoke only with our eyes—full of love and desire.
His lips moved, answering Gerald’s questions. Then Kays squeezed my hand a little tighter, and I surfaced from our private bubble just long enough to say one word.
“Yes.”
Gerald declared us husband and wife, King and Queen of Zergedia, handed over his rule to us, blessed our union, and was the first to wish us happiness, placing the crowns on our heads.
But we barely heard any of that—we were already kissing, savoring our special moment. Now we were one before the gods and everyone else.
The palace exploded with applause and hundreds of fireworks. People shouted joyfully, clapping, and a sea of confetti and streamers rained down on us.
Then came the long congratulations from the entire kingdom. Long—so many people!
“Kays, I’m exhausted,” I whispered to my husband, unable to endure another round of titled well-wishers.
“Then let’s take a break,” Kays said firmly, then added more quietly,
“Queen Isabella will need her strength tonight…”
And the way he looked at me made me want to spend that strength immediately on everything promised in that sinful gaze.
“And will you still accept our congratulations, Your Majesties of Zergedia?” Anton and Laverna approached us, along with Yafi and Iolanta, all smiling broadly.
“You could’ve skipped the line for this!” I laughed, as the girls rushed in to hug me while the men greeted Kays with handshakes.
So many warm words poured out of them that I nearly cried. Hearing sincere congratulations from those closest to you is the most touching thing of all. How I wished my parents could have been here today… I was getting far too emotional.
As we were chatting happily with our friends, a quiet voice suddenly reached us.
“And will you accept my congratulations, Your Majesties?”
A few steps away stood Bahira, her head bowed.
