I Can Love On You Too
I Can Love On You Too
“JESUS!” Wilmot shouted as he backed away from the open portal. Face paled, he turned to Cordelia and Minerva, “Do not tell Argus about this.” He said sternly.
Cordelia rolled her eyes, “Please, that would require us to have a conversation with him, something that neither side wishes to participate in.”
He placed his hand to his lips pensively. “Something’s different. That rage, I could feel it all the way over here. I’ve never felt anything like that before.” He closed his eyes and shuddered, “It was absolutely intoxicating... “
“WHAT?!” Minerva screamed only to see Wilmot’s face harden.
“You heard me.” Dismissively, he waved at them, “Prepare for Sabine’s arrival. Without her Paramour it’s impossible for her to defeat all of us. She’ll submit and we can FINALLY continue things the way that they were always planned to be.” Leaving the room, he ignored the fume on their faces.
“She’s not even here and she’s still a complete pain in the ass.” Cordelia said grumbling.
Minerva nodded, “You know. Look, we might not get along, but at least we can agree that Sabine doesn’t need to come back. How about we give her a little sisterly love?”
“What do you have in mind?”
“Make her do what she does best, play the role of the sister with the biggest heart.”

The days were rough for Kai. Locked away in a room of the castle, his body pulled itself to the brink as his magic fought against what had been injected into his body. With George in his room and Beemo who refused to leave his side, he pushed forward, sharing his pain while learning that the twin wolf who had anger facial lines, hid a pain of his own.
“I couldn’t imagine what it was like to lose a child that you never knew you had.” Kai said to him one day.
George nodded, “...I think the reality is that I mourn moreso the loss of the children I could have had. I spent SO long convincing myself that had I been better, had I been a little wiser, a little stronger, I would have seen the forest for the trees, and maybe things would have been different.”
“What do you mean different?” Kai asked as he pulled his legs to his chest to aid his stomach pains.
George sighed, “I would never admit it to my brother, but I’ve always been envious of the fact that he has children. Even though they travel a lot, they’re apart of Dark Moon and I can’t help but to wish...I had some of my own.” He shook his head, “This whole thing has been really hard if I’m honest. Sometimes I feel like I’m steppin into someone else’s life. His wife...his daughters...his box of rocks that pisses me off, and yet who also manages to make me proud.”
It was these very talks that aided Kai with every cold sweat, every hallucination, with every time he felt everyone around him would be better off. Because it was these very talks that made him admire a man who had become such an important staple in others lives, that it made him realize so had he. And on his day of realizing that, things changed, He stopped rejecting his sisters visits, and allowed them in.
Kai allowed them to see his irritability, his irrational excitement, he allowed them to see every part of him that they wanted. Because to see, meant to heal, and he needed them to know that he was fighting not just for them, but finally for himself. And what pushed him further was the fact that they never flinched. They aided him in showering, and made sure he ate. So did the insane quintet minus one, who visited just as often, who also felt just as privileged to see his scars. Because to be privileged to see, meant to witness a man being healed, and they loved watching that man fight not just for them, but finally for himself.
And on the day they brought their children, Kai turned his head in shame, not wanting them to see what their uncle had become. Harper raced to him, bringing her favorite book along. Handing it over, she grabbed his cheeks and laughed infectiously as he made a face. Mavier found his favorite perch and let out a “Woo” as he nuzzled against Kai before producing his favorite teddy. E.J stared at him from a distance, not sure if he was real. Wanting to go close, but afraid to be disappointed again. His little heart leaped when Kai murmured, “Ni-Jah, Jew-Ner?” and darting to one of his favorite people, he gave him his favorite blanket to make him all better.
Kai missed Sabine like crazy, so much so that he dreamed of her. Every night his hallucinations would make him envision her snuggled under him. It both saddened and made him happy, and though he said nothing to anyone else nor did he press, the hurt of her not showing up, did at times make his heart crumble. And on the day he finally got the strength to rise from his bed on his own, he returned from the bathroom to find a photo album on his bed. Inside no pictures, but instead a note and as he pulled it out, he realized it was from her.
Kai,
There is so much that I wish to say to you, but I know that there is something I must address first, and that is the fact that I haven’t visited-well at least while you’ve been awake. Everynight I come in to ensure that with a little magic, you have a peaceful rest, and as I lay under you, I can’t help but to fully understand the magnitude of what I almost lost. Please don’t be angry with me that I haven’t visited while you’ve been awake, I have also come to understand the importance of not triggering someone who is in recovery. Instead, I write to you in hopes that much like the lovers who wrote to one another a long time ago, you will write to me back.
I love you so much, my heart demands you.
Sabine A.K.A your Doe.
As the days turned into weeks, Sabine and Kai exchanged the album, each excited when it arrived back to them with something new. It didn’t matter how small the detail, or how short the letter, what mattered was the fact that it always returned. Talks about the future, admissions about the past, things neither one had ever shared with another soul. Kai held onto the album on his worst days, rereading her letters and pushing himself to fight for her and himself.
Two months later, Kai looked himself over and gave a small smile. Tired of the back and forth, he decided to find Sabine. Holding the album close to him, he walked and opened the door. His lips parted seeing her on the other side in mid knock. She looked down to her shoes,
“Sorry...I-”
He didn’t let her finish. Grabbing her into his arms, he kissed her deeply, “Doe..” He said in a low voice and her face flushed as his eyes purpled.
She backed away and presented a box, “I-I got these for you...because I’m proud of you a-and I wasn’t sure what color, but your guitar is blue so I thought blue would be okay. IF IT’S NOT, I CAN GET ANOTHER COLOR!” She shouted slightly panicking.
Tilting his head, he pulled the lid off the box and laughed, “Fucking hell, I love you.” He said, his eyes gleaming. He pulled her close again while staring at his dark blue hard working Mary Janes, “You wooing me Doe?”
She laughed and murmured against his mouth, “Of course not Trouble, I’m courtin’ there's a difference.”
