Chapter 263
Chapter 263
Ava looked at Faye with some helplessness. Why couldn't she read the room?
"It means we shouldn't wander around and need to stay safe."
Faye frowned, feeling like her mom was being evasive, but she glanced at Isabella and finally said, "Fine, whatever you guys do, I'll do the same."
"Isabella, the company is heavily investing in TV dramas."
Isabella was a bit surprised to receive Rowan's call, since she had always been working on live streaming and variety shows.
Isabella shook her head, "Is there a problem?"
Rowan on the other end of the phone seemed to have switched phones, and his voice became quieter.
"Isabella, the entertainment industry is in such bad shape right now. Filming TV dramas requires a lot of consideration, especially big productions. And this time they're filming three different genres all at once."
Isabella quickly caught the key point. She became serious, "You think there's a problem with the source of the investment?"
Rowan nodded, "I heard Alfonso will star in one of them. But I can't get in touch with him."
Isabella frowned deeply. She couldn't do anything based on speculation alone.
She said, "Do you have any specific information?"
"No." Rowan sighed on the other end, "Isabella, honestly, I'm calling you partly because I'm worried about you and Alfonso, and partly because I'm worried that if something goes wrong, they might play dirty and push you guys out as scapegoats. After all, when you were registered with the company before, they publicly said you were working at the entertainment company."
Isabella hadn't thought of this point. Given Chase and his father's personalities, they really might pull something like this.
"Thanks for the heads up. I'll be careful. You be careful on set too."
Seeing that Isabella had taken it in, Rowan talked about the live streaming situation before hanging up.
Isabella immediately contacted Rhett. Previously, Rhett had been the liaison with the entertainment company, so maybe she could hear something useful from him.
"Mrs. Moore, the entertainment company's public accounts are fine, but I'm not clear about any deals they might have under the table."
After Rhett finished speaking and heard no response from Isabella, he sighed, "Ash has pretty extensive connections. I heard he's invested in three more TV dramas. There might be problems with this, but even if something goes wrong later, it won't have anything to do with you."
Isabella smiled faintly, "Okay, I understand. Thank you for your hard work."
Rhett said gently, "Mrs. Moore, still no news from Mr. Moore?"
Isabella replied, "Not yet."
After hanging up, Isabella felt a bit frustrated. She still didn't have enough people.
With Ash making such big moves now, she felt it might be intentional.
She still needed Hayden's help.
As Isabella was thinking about how to approach Hayden, a bodyguard came in saying the Wilson family had come looking for them again.
Isabella felt annoyed. These people really couldn't stay quiet for a moment.
"Go tell Mother."
Previously, she and Faye hadn't seen Hayes and Mireille because Ava was unconscious. Now that Ava was awake, it wasn't appropriate for the younger generation to handle this.
Soon Ava came downstairs.
Faye's face showed her unhappiness, "Mom, don't see Uncle Hayes. You'll probably just get lectured."
But Ava's expression was calm. Isabella couldn't read any other emotions on her face.
"I have to see them eventually."
As soon as Hayes and Mireille entered, they saw Ava and rushed to her side.
"Thank goodness you're okay, thank goodness."
Ava smiled at them, "Hayes, Mireille, I made you worry."
Hayes patted Ava's arm gently, "You're my own sister. Of course I care about you. Do you really have no news about Matthew?"
Ava smiled bitterly, "Still no news right now."
"Ava, Liam and his wife have gone too far."
Hayes snorted coldly, "I said it from the start—Liam is ruthless. The last time Matthew had trouble, it probably had something to do with him too. Too bad you couldn't find evidence, otherwise how could they be so arrogant."
Mireille tugged at Hayes's sleeve.
Hayes also realized he was now at the Moore Manor and Hayden might be around, so he shut his mouth.
But he quickly noticed Faye and Isabella, and his expression soured.
"Ava, when you were unconscious, I originally wanted to help you, but Faye was too cautious."
Mireille immediately chimed in, "That's right. Don't you think with all these things happening to your family, someone is clearly cursing your luck?"
Isabella sneered inwardly. Even at a time like this, they didn't forget to drag her into it. Was she really that much of an eyesore?
Ava's gaze at Mireille turned cold, "Mireille, what are you trying to say?"
Mireille acted as if she didn't notice Ava's displeasure and looked at Isabella, "Ava, your family never had this many problems before. Even you got into a car accident."
Faye couldn't stand it anymore and said unhappily, "My mom's car accident was because someone deliberately targeted her. Stop with your insinuations."
"Ava, look at Faye!"
Mireille immediately stared at Ava, "I think Faye has been led astray by someone."
Faye said angrily, "Who could I have been led astray by? If you really cared about my mom, why didn't you visit her at the hospital the day of her accident? Now you're starting to criticize."
"Ava! You need to control Faye properly."
Hayes frowned at Faye, very dissatisfied with her behavior.
"I think Mireille is right—she's been led astray by certain people."
He was much more obvious than Mireille, staring directly at Isabella.
"Don't think you can throw your weight around just because you're pregnant. Even if something happened to Matthew, Faye and his real mother are still here. Don't even think about getting your hands on Matthew's shares."
Isabella thought to herself that she hadn't said anything at all.
"Enough! Did you come here today to see me or to judge Isabella?"
"Ava!"
Seeing Ava's expression was off, Hayes called for a doctor.
"Alright, talk to Ava nicely." Mireille's expression also changed quickly. Seeing Ava's mood was wrong, she quickly played the good guy, "Ava, forget it, let's not talk about this. What's important now is your situation. Are you really going to keep being suppressed by Liam's side?"
"So what's your solution?"
Ava stared at the two of them.
Mireille smiled, then nudged Hayes's arm with her elbow, "You tell her."
Hayes cleared his throat and said directly, "Ava, you should go to work at the company now."
Faye said irritably, "Uncle Hayes, don't you know yet? Chase and the others produced a gift agreement, saying Matthew transferred all his shares to them."
