Chapter 1 : A Hunch

I woke up from my bed after one nasty weird dream… It must be because of all these things happening around me… Everyone’s so caught up with the term ‘Moving On’ which is a very good term by the way.. All I could possibly do on the other hand is be supportive with my new friends.. Elena seems to be a nice girl.. She recently lost her parents and that is sad. That is really really bad.. I can’t even imagine what I would do if I lost mine.. And she already has this amazing group of friends. Matt, Caroline, Bonnie..

Correction.. Matt is her ex and Elena is dating this new guy.. Stefan Salvatore. He seems really nice.. And Since Caroline couldn’t have Stefan as her boyfriend she got the other brother. Damon. Damon seems to be a really nice guy too.. But Elena said that Stefan and Damon do not get along together.

Even though I wasn’t here since the beginning Elena was kind enough to take me in her friendship gang.. Everything I’ve ever wanted.

So today I hope that it will be a very good day.

Kate closed her diary and tossed it back under her pillow. She got up to get dressed and go to school. Mystic Falls high has been one of the best schools Kate has ever been in.. All these years.. She couldn’t have any best friends or a particular school that liked because her parents kept moving from town to town, cities to cities, states to states, countries to countries… and Kate was done moving..

If her parents mentioned moving again she’s gonna deny…

“Honey breakfast’s ready !” Kate’s mom shouted from below.. Kate’s living in a beautiful house right now. It’s a two storey house.. It’s small but beautiful with a brown roofing and white walls.

Kate headed down and smiled at her mom and asked “ Where’s dad..?” “ Oh honey he headed for work” Her mom Mrs. Anne Rollins was just as beautiful as Kate .. After finishing her breakfast Kate took her bag and left …

Anne looked through the window to see her lovely young daughter heading to school.. She let out a sigh of confidence in her mind .. Kate prefers walking. She loves the cool breeze in the mornings and evenings.. And Elena’s house was on the way..

Kate knocked at Elena’s door and to her surprise Stefan opened the door.. “Sorry, wrong house..?” Kate was mocking so Stefan smiled.. “You must be Kate.. Elena was talking about you coming here just now..!” Yeah… He let her in… “I came here to pick her up for school.. Umm Would you mind” Before he could finish his sentence Kate jumped in “Oh it's ok.. I can - I can walk.!” Kate was about to turn and leave when Stefan stopped her and said.. “No.. I mean, would you mind coming with us..!” “Oh ok.. Sure..!” Kate let out a nervous laugh.

Jeremy, Elena’s younger brother was sitting on the couch texting someone, probably the girl he met at the grill …! Anyway he is dealing with his loss so Kate didn’t bother to get involved.. He was a little messed up …

“What about him..?” Kate pointed at Jeremy.. “Oh he..? He will be going alone..” Elena stepped down from the stairs with a bag on his back.. “He prefers to be alone..!” She gave Kate a little irritating look and smiled.. “Come on .. let's go..”

They reached the high school and Bonnie was waiting for us… “Hey new girl…!” Bonnie greeted Kate with a smile and held her hand over her shoulder and they walked in..

“Hey Elena..!” Caroline ran in to give Elena a hug and Bonnie too.. But not kate.. “Hi” Kate smiled and waved.. Caroline smiled happily.. “Hey.. how are you..?!” “I’m doing good..!”

Elena and Stefan left the scene once Caroline started talking with Kate and Bonnie..”Hey what’s with the scarf..? It’s hot now..” “I prefer to wear a scarf.. It matches my dress… leave it be, new girl..” And Caroline suddenly left.. “What was that..?” Kate turned to Bonnie.. “Oh never mind.. Caroline and her mood swings.. It’s happening a lot lately.. Come.. let's get you to the class first..!”

It’s been day two since Stefan tried to outsmart Mr. Tanner Mystic High’s History teacher / Football coach.. And he is damn Pissed at Stefan. It’s fun to watch something like that..

Everyone during their free periods would enjoy doing other extra curricular activities when Kate keeps rummaging through the library all afternoon and at free times.. She got these pictures that she cut out from newspapers that mentioned about every single animal attack that’s been going on… The curious part for her was.. She never spotted any animals or footprints … And there was a hunch that she never believed either. A hunch that said.. “Vampires are real”
