Chapter 2 : Our Little Secret

Kate was enjoying a nice burger and fries with Bonnie when she noticed something Jeremy was happy and smiling around this one girl.. “Hey who is that girl..?” Bonnie looked around to see who Kate was pointing at.. “Who, that..? With Jeremy?” Bonnie turned to look at Kate.. “Yeah..”

“That is Matt’s sister.. Vicky Donovan.. Why?” “No.. just curious.. Jeremy is very happy around her.. So I just asked..!” “Hey… so how good are you at keeping secrets..!” Bonnie was about to spill something.. “ On a scale from 1 to 10 .. I guess.. 11!” Bonnie let out a laugh.. “Ok.. don’t tell anybody.. My grandmother says that I am psychic !” The fries Kate was trying to swallow got stuck in her throat… “Like a witch?” Kate was super surprised and also happy.. And confused at the same time.. Is that even possible..? Well she was so..

“Shh… I don’t know about that.. But that’s what my grams’ been saying to me all summer .. and I talked about it with Elena and Caroline and Caroline kinda made fun of me… so I stopped.. “

“Then why did you tell me?” Kate felt a little special because Bonnie was trying her best to add me to their group..! “You kinda look like a person that I could trust..!” “Awww..” Kate got up from her chair and hugged Bonnie… “This is good.. I love this place..!” Kate smiled.. “Yeah right..” Bonnie smiled….

“What’s Damon doing here..” Bonnie’s stare went straight from Kate to a guy wearing a black shirt near the bar counter.. And he was staring at Bonnie.. “Oooh.. why shouldn't he be here..?”

“No Caroline told me that She is going on a date with this guy..”

“Douche.!” Kate splashed out the term a little louder and Damon felt a little urge to tear out Kate’s head off.. He was on edge.. Like always without even a glimmer of hope in his eyes..

“Hey.. I have to get back home soon.. Are you finishing it now and coming with me or are you going home..?” Bonnie smiled and got up.. She was planning on telling Caroline to not go with Damon.. And Since Kate had no idea she said.. “It’s fine.. I love to walk anyway..! “

Bonnie smiled and left.. Right after finishing Kate’s food.. Kate got up and took her bag and paid the bill and left.. She wasn’t even planning on looking back at Damon at all.. It was already dark outside.. And Kate was singing while taking each step .. Suddenly Kate heard someone scream… “Help..!” Kate was terrified but she ran in that direction to see if there was anybody.. And there was no one… But Suddenly out of nowhere Damon was standing right behind her..

“Hello there.. You lost?” Kate was terrified and surprised at the same time when she heard him talking.. And turned around and saw Damon.. “Hoo.. you..? Hey if you don’t like Caroline just leave her alone.. But tell her first.. That you like her.. Don’t make her wait please..?”

“And I thought you called me a Douche ..!” Kate stopped right there.. “Wait what..?” She looked at Damon in confusion and surprise.. “H-How did you… you were near the counter.. I was nowhere near you..!”

“Oh… I have spies..!” Damon was getting angrier more and more when he talked with Kate.. “Haha. Spies for what..? Teenage girls? Oh come on..!”

“What if I told you a secret.. would you scream in fear..?”

Damon shot a cold stare with a devil grin … “You are Stefan’s younger brother? Ahhhh I knew it… You kinda look like you are the youngest..”

Suddenly his anger went from range 10 to 0… “

He stared at her tilting his head to the side.. “Ok.. I have this secret and you’re going to help me keep it a secret... “ Damon was staring right into Kate’s eyes.. Without even blinking..

“Okay…?” He stepped closer and closer .. but to Kate’s surprise and slight horror… there were veins under his eyes that were moving and his eyes turned red and when he opened his mouth to bite her… she saw his teeth… It was more than just any teeth.. It was fangs…

“Ahh… you are a Vampire..!” Kate was astonished and she lifted one of her hands to touch his veins underneath his eyes.. Which basically stopped Damon..

“What..? you knew..?” He was confused.. “Knew what..? That Vampires are real?” Kate was happy and surprised… She adores these kinds of creatures and she wanted to meet one… She knows that they are dangerous and cruel but not everyone is…!

“Does that mean Stefan is also a Vampire..?” “Wow, that escalated quickly… Since you are Elena’s best friend and I can’t kill you. I’ll just take a sip and erase your memory…”

“What..? no.. don’t bite me..” Kate was a little annoyed when she heard that… But Damon, who always does not give a damn about anything, went for her neck..

“Mmmm... ouch.. I said don’t” Well for Damon’s own surprise.. He was gentle.. He stopped, tasted her blood and then looked in her eyes and said.

“Forget this happened.. You were out on a walk and you never saw me here…!”

“Yeah.. explain how that works…!” Damon was confused all over again.. “How am I gonna forget meeting you here.. and then you bit me…!” “You are not taking any vervain… are you wearing vervain…?” He looked everywhere… her hands, fingers, neck.. There was nothing vervained that she was wearing.. “What’s a Vervain..?” “Think I should kill you… you’re something else… Are you a witch…?” Damon was losing his control..

“What? A witch..? No..” Kate was getting more and more curious and fear started creeping inside of her… “Are you going to kill me now..? That’s pretty… bad'' Kate started hyperventilating .. She was feeling the way Damon was staring at her with his eyes that said “Hello I’m going to kill you..” But he stopped… “I’m not here to create another scene…

“Just remember our little promise.. It’s a secret..” “Of course… “ Kate left a sigh of relief and without any hesitation.. Hugged Damon.. “Before I change my mind…” Damon was a little irritated.. “Since I don’t have any siblings.. I will take you as my brother…! And I wanna know more.. I promise.. This will be our little secret..” Kate left Damon and she was super surprised.. And happy.. She strolled happily to her house…

On her way home she saw ti\his guy looking at her.. He was standing in the distance.. And he was kinda creeping her out.. So she walked fast and got inside her house and closed the door..

Even though she was happy.. Now it’s clear that Vampires are real.. and also all the dangers along with it.. So Kate headed to her room for further referencing on the internet..
